Spacious room in central Bangkok

Apartment - Private room · Ratchaprarop Road, Phyathai, Bangkok 10400, Thailand

Located at the 3rd floor of the building, this is a spare room in my flat. It has a single bed (I've had several couples as guests and they were fine with it), a sofa bed, an extra air bed if needed, aircon, fan, tv w/ English channels, multimedia player, cabinet, desk w/ lock, windows and balcony, and direct access to the shared bathroom.

The Space

You may use the kitchen, utensils and fridge anytime, of course with care ;)

Fresh towels, linens and basic toiletries are provided.

Excellent wifi connection provided to guests.

Cleaning aids (broom, vacuum cleaner, mop, etc.) are accessible anytime.

Coin-operated washing machines and water dispenser are also available at the ground floor.

Interaction with Guests

Since I am currently staying in the other room, I can provide assistance, tips when I'm around. I work in an international org from Monday to Friday but I can be reached anytime on my handy for any question :)

I can teach survival Thai which will be very useful when going around Bangkok/ Thailand. Although I don't explicitly provide breakfast, I normally have coffee and tea to share :)

The Neighborhood

My flat is located right across Century Park Hotel along Ratchaprarop Road. It is walking distance to the city skytrain BTS Victory Monument station and airport link Ratchaprarop station (approx. 700m away from both or 5-10 min walk), bus stop (25m), San Saeb canal for taking the boat (e.g. to China Town, Khao San, Jim Thompson house, etc.; (approx. 900m away, 15-20 min walk or 5-10min bus ride), a park (75m), shopping areas (Central World, Big C, Pratunam, King Power) restaurants, spa/massage (across the road), 7-11, minivan/transpo hub going to key destinations in Bangkok/Thailand. Check for Victory Monument for the available minivan terminals.

  • Tine is a great host- very easy to communicate with, and very quick to respond. She was extremely accommodating and flexible with our (lack of) travel plans. Her location is great- it is very central, right by Victory Monument BTS, which makes it very easy to get around Bangkok's traffic. Her and Mel were very helpful with directions and recommendations as well.

    Response from Khristine:

Thanks, too, for choosing to stay at my place every time you were coming to Bangkok. Have a safe trip back! Till next time :)

  • Khristine was away when we came, but her friend Mel welcomed us, and made us really feel at home. The little apartment is very nice and clean. The room itself is spacious, and has a single bed and a mattress. The location is very good: there is a lovely local main street near by, with cafes restaurants etc, and also a lovely local park to sit in the shade and eat the fruit that you bought in the street. There is a Sky-Train station within a short walking distance.
The only thing that disturbed us was the noise that came from the main road at night, which forced us to shut the windows and use the AC.
It was a good experience and we definitely recommend.

    Response from Khristine:

Thanks, Michal, for the review and I'll extend your message to Mel. Unfortunately,Bangkok in general is noisy especially for those who are not used to the crazy 24-hour Bangkok lifestyle. My city Manila is 2x noisier with roosters crowing as early as dawn, street vendors making their individual unique chants, tricyles and jeepneys sounds, etc. but now that you've mentioned this, I'd like to warn future guests who are very sensitive to noise (like my German husband!) to bring their ear plugs if they don't want to shut the windows at night. Otherwise, noise is gone once windows are closed and I'll also keep some fresh ear plugs for those who will need it.

  • Khristine's place is in a great location that is within easy access to the BTS, the airport link, and the mini-vans that run to Ayutthaya. There's also a soi close by that has plenty of restaurants and food carts...We really enjoyed staying with her and liked the spacious room that we had. She was very helpful when we had questions and took the time to chat with us whenever she was around. There was plenty of space and privacy. Thanks for a great stay, Khristine!

  • I just loved the place and Mel was great. I felt so at home and comfy and would highly recommend!

  • I had a great time staying with Khristine although we didn't get to interact much as we were both so busy during the day. The room is huge, nice private access to the share bathroom. The apt is about a 12-15 minute walk to the BTS and Khristine was very nice in waiting for me after quite a delay with a taxi driver. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Bangkok longer than a week!

  • Thank you Tine for my fabulous stay in Bangkok. Tine's place felt like home the moment I walked in, it was PERFECT! The room was spacious, clean, bright, and the air-con was ON before I arrived, that was so sweet of Mhel, Tine's friend! Though Tine was not around until my last day of stay in Bangkok, but the pre-trip planning would not have been successful if it were not for Tine. During my stay, Mhel was around to provide me with all the information I needed. I had a fabulous time staying at Tine's, and will definitely book this place for my next visit to Bangkok in near future. =D

  • For those who are considering/interested in staying at Tine's nice apartment I would highly recommend it. This is my second stay! As noted in my previous review this is an excellent place to hang out and plan all your travel in Thailand and, of course, visiting Bangkok. Convenient and easy access to all top sight-seeing places in Thailand with its close proximity to Victory Monument and all the minibuses can't be beat. I took advantage of that again this time with my visit of Chiang Mai (via Don Muang airport) and Amphawa (via minibus). Now, in regard to the apartment itself, as noted by all other visitors, Tine has kept her place clean and stocked with all the toiletries and cooking facility. You can prepare simple meals in the apartment if you wish, or sample all different dishes/cuisine all within short walking distance. And, of course, numerous Thai massage places within a stone-throw away, which I took advantage of that again .... everyday! Like I said, I totally enjoyed my repeat stay at Tine's place and would definitely return for my third visit. Thanks a million, Tine, for sharing your apartment.

  • Our stay at Khristine's place was excellent. Although she was not there, she stayed in contact to make sure everything went okay. Her friends were also very helpful to us for our questions and concerns.

The place itself is as convenient as it gets. Khristine provides wifi, AC, and there are washing machines downstairs. It is in a very good location, within maybe a 15 minute walk to the Airport Link or the Victory Monument BTS station. Also close by is Rangnam road, which had very good street food, as well as the useful 7-11. The room comfortably fit the two of us and has a TV as well.

Overall we had a wonderful experience there and would recommend her place to anyone staying in Bangkok.

  • My stay at Khristine's was very good! Although she was quite in a hurry, she managed to explain me the basics about Bangkok. and beforehand she was really helpful with helping me planning my stay in Thailand! I have not seen much of Khristine because she was away but her friend helped me out when I needed it. I felt really at home there and would definitely recommend people to stay there while in BKK!
The room is big enough, has a direct access to the bathroom, there's a fan and the air co, so everything to survive there! There's internet and a washing machine. The flat is in a very quite street although very close to a big street! It's half way between the BTS and the Airport Link, very good location and sage area! Plus there are very good and very cheap massage places next door!!

  • This is a very well located place on a quiet street but close to action. It’s near to Victory Monument BTS station, where you can access trains to anywhere you would like to go to in Bangkok. As mentioned, there are massage places across the street (go for a 2 hour Thai massage – that was excellent) and only 5 minutes by foot there is this lovely street Soi Rangnam for street food and restaurants. The street vendors here sell delicious Thai desserts – I’d recommend sticky rice and mango. The room itself is rather large, clean and comfortable – there is everything you need. I needed wifi for work and it worked very well with no problems at all. Tine is a sweet host, friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. She took me to a local food market for fruits, out dinner twice and even invited me along to a coral reef restoration trip – she had it all very well organized. The trip was great, and for me it certainly was once of a lifetime experience, I tried snorkeling for the first time ever – Thanks for everything Tine.
