A residential neighborhood that is close to bus lines, downtown, Division Street restaurant row, Hawthorne and Belmont shopping areas.
Buses 14, 10, 15, etc. are all within walking distance. It's also a pleasant and easy walk downtown across the Hawthorne bridge. It is especially pleasant going for a stroll on the water front on a summer evening.

We stayed here for six weeks, and got to know the neighborhood and apartment very well. Our only regret about our stay was that it had to end. We loved this neighborhood and apartment. The street car to downtown is a ten-minute walk, as is Hawthorne Boulevard, which is the heart of vibrant SE Portland. The apartment is very clean and exactly as described and pictured on the website. The kitchen is stocked with every utensil you could conceivably need. It also has a nice little washer /dryer, which was important to us, as we had an extended stay. Although we only had the pleasure of meeting Tianshu once, she is a very responsive and attentive host. When we arrived after 9 pm, Tianshu was waiting for us at the apartment to welcome us. After we departed, we found out that we left an item in the apartment when Tianshu sent us a text letting us know that she had already sent it back to us via UPS - even before we knew it was missing. Finally, if you're so inclined, there are a number of microbreweries and distilleries within a short walk that are open to the public; sampling their wares is a nice way to settle in and soak up what Portland has to offer.
Tianshu was extremely helpful and answered emails very quickly. The place looked exactly like the photos. It was very clean and we were greeted by a nice welcome folder with rules and tips for places to visit in Portland. The place was very inviting with a warm and cozy feel to the layout. Parking is pretty easy around this area. Definitely would recommend this place.
I like the place, and the location is close to all the spots my girlfriend and I wanted to go. My only major issue is that you are on the bottom level so you can hear anyone walking above you or coming through the hall. It's not a huge deal but something you should note if your a light sleeper for example.
Really cool space with everything you need. Definitely larger than it appears in the pictures. Bed was super comfortable and the space is very well decorated, modern and most importantly CLEAN. Netflix on the TV was easy to use. Parking was easy to find in the area.
A few things to note: as others have noted there are a few places in the unit that have low ceilings (if you're over 6' you have to duck). No windows in the bedroom (which actually worked for us b/c we usually sleep w/ eye masks). One night we decided to open up the futon to turn it into a bed but the secondary piece kept sliding out so not sure how comfortable it would be for someone who actually slept out there. Otherwise, really no major issues as everything was exactly was described!
This was a lovely clean place to stay. The welcome pack was full of useful information and there were lots of extras generously supplied.
It was a lovely neighbourhood to explore and an easy walk to downtown.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for others looking for a nice place to stay.
This is a clean, airy apartment in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of nearby cafes and eateries and street parking. The convenient on-street entrance provides lots of privacy. The galley kitchen is extremely well stocked with every pot, dish, glass, utensil, and cleaning item you could wish for. The bright bathroom has lots of towels and even a combination washer/dryer. The Ikea couch opens into a very comfortable queen-sized bed; the queen bed in the bedroom is also comfortable and beautifully outfitted with elegant sheets and comforter. Unfortunately, the apt has three drawbacks: (1) when the other tenants walk down the corridors or open and close their doors, you hear it loudly in the bedroom—happily, that doesn't happen often or for long; (2) there are two steep steps between the bedroom and the living room that are hard to see at night and make it tricky to reach the bathroom on the other side of the apartment; (3) the bathroom has no shower stall, and the clawfoot tub (retrofitted with a shower-curtain ring) is about three feet off the ground. We were always a little afraid of falling as we climbed in and out, especially when the tub was wet. There's nothing to hold onto to steady yourself with. Despite these drawbacks, the apt is comfortable and welcoming, a lovely home away from home. And Tianshu—whom, regrettably, we never met—was an attentive host who left excellent directions and responded immediately to texts.
The house was super cute and felt like home. Upon entering there was a welcome packet waiting for us. We were not sure she would provide toiletries for us but she did which was awesome and felt like a hotel! The neighborhood isn't too far from the touristy spots we wanted to go to. We were able to walk to a few places like the bar or a coffee the next morning. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much!!
I am a typical Portland transplant: came to visit 18 years ago and never left :) I am a mom, love food, love nature, love movies, art, books, interesting buildings .... all the wonderful things Portland has to offer. I hope you and yours have a great time in this city I love!
I don't live on the premise so you will have a very private stay. But I make every effort to greet you upon your arrival and help you settle in. Otherwise, I am a phone call/text away, and I will always try my best to help make your stay pleasant.
