Let's start by stating the obvious... Shasta is epic. The scenery, the weather, the people and the food. It truly is a gem that for the greater group of Californians is still waiting in the wings... And if you are going to go to Shasta and spend time, staying with Issac is a great call. We never got the pleasure of meeting him, but he had excellent communication with us throughout our stay via text. He had his friend Brian come to the house to let us in. Brian joined us for a glass of wine and then left, with the stove warm and the bed made. Although the weather was warm for us, this house seems to be one that I can imagine myself hanging next to the fireplace reading one of the MANY books in the bookcase. Isaac and I, I feel, are very similar. I would have loved meeting him.. It will have to wait until next time tho. And there will assuredly be a next time. Wonderful place!
Great place. We had a really good time here with lots of stars in the night sky, a very friendly cat and delicious home-grown tomatoes + Isaac had good advice for us on how to get the most out of our short visit.
This is a good place to stay for discovering Mount Shasta. The neighbourhood is very quiet and close to the road up to the mountain. Isaac was a nice host, we only met him briefly and had his large house for ourselves during our short stay. His garden is wonderful, with a lot of berries and vegetables.
This is a great find. The house is very charming and close to everything you need in Mt Shasta. The back yard - full with hot tub, hammock, and a lovely garden - is especially wonderful for relaxing after a long day of hiking.
Isaac is a friendly and generous host, who is also very knowledgeable about the area as a long-time local. He provided maps, brochures, and helpful tips to make the most out of my visit.
Issac is a warm welcoming host. He makes me feel at home and is a kind, easy going guy who allows me to be fully myself in his environment. We always seem to share a meal somewhere along the way and have a few laughs and share a few insights. I have stayed there a few times now and will be back yet again in September. Some of the perks include a nice hot tub with a view of the mountain and his peaceful hammock, not to mention his wonderful kitty Sanjay.
Big thanks to Isaac for providing a place for the bluegrass band that played my wedding to stay. They had a great time, and you were super accommodating to me when my family was in a pinch and needed a place for them to stay. I know where I'll be booking. My friends the next time we need a place for them to stay.
I believe that life should be filled with laughter and happiness. I choose to live in Mount Shasta because it offers me close access to beautiful mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests.
I really enjoy backcountry skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, paragliding, floating down rivers and gardening.
