Note that there is another place with the exactly the same street address in Charlestown. The place is in East Boston so DO check the zip code before you actually set out. In general it's a nice place, but it could take a while to locate the key lockbox.

There were a few things that were not as they should have been when I arrived. Richard was quick to respond, though there wasn’t any resolution. The apartment is a bit dated and there were things that didn’t work. It was well cleaned though and the air conditioner in the living room worked to cool the entire apartment after being on for several hours. My favorite part was how close it was to the train station. You can be downtown within 15 minutes of walking out the front door. If you are looking for a modestly priced place to stay without expecting some of the nicer frills of some Airbnb’s, this will do for you.

Richard is a great host! Very responsive and nice! The AC in the bedroom was broken but the one going in the kitchen was enough to cool the place down. The location is solid.

Well, location is great. One stop on the metro and you in Boston. I have been renting many apartments all over the globe. This is the worst by far. You need to run the lounge air conditioner and sleep with the door open in the room so you have a good nights sleep. Found the duvet in the laundry basket with dirty things I guess. Place is dirty and full of junk. No Netflix as bill was not paid. No working TV for 6 days and nothing done about it. Rich lived in South America and the place is been rented out. Very disappointed and reported this place to the publishing company. All cupboards full of junk and dirty. Could rite a list

Richard was extremely responsive and answered all 700 million of my questions really quickly despite being out of the country. His place is a great bargain and transportation is walking distance along with an amazing pizza place called Santarpio's and Dunkin Donuts, 7-11, and lots of little bodega-esque shops. Full-scale grocery store is also super close by car. Parking is on the street with a 2-hour max but there are usually spots open within a couple yards from the front entrance and you don't have to pay a meter which is super nice. No limit from 6pm - 8am I believe and they are not strict about it. I stayed for 2 weeks and only got one ticket on my last day because i forgot about the street sign that said there was street cleaning on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, but even that was only $40. Fridge was huge and I was able to spread out and make myself and my tiny dogs comfortable while I was there instead of being crammed into a hotel wih only one room for two weeks. It is worth noting, however, that his apartment is on the 3rd or 4th floor (depending on whether you consider the half flight of stairs to the first floor from the street an extra floor) and those stairs were AWFUL in the summer heat given the lack of air in the building. When i arrived, I had to convince some guys with cash who didnt speak English that I saw on the street cash to carry my stuff up when I arrived and the apartment was literally 89* inside when i got there. I was sweating and breathing heavily and was extremely unhappy about the heat and im in my early 30s and in decemt shape. The steps are just slats of wood on a rail so extremely dangerous for dogs who could easily slip on the slick srface and fall through them several flights down. His one a/c unit in the main living area was powerful though and cooled his place relatively quickly. I would not recommend this location to guests with small children because of the neighborhood or anyone unable to carry heavy loads up and down or who is unable to walk up stairs for whatever reason.
