The space

The views are jaw dropping, sunrise to sunset , Mt. Tam and the Bay.
There are many garden seating areas to feel close to nature

1. A sanctuary , perfect for a writer or meditator or anyone who wants to be close to conveniences but feel far away from the hub bub to relax or concentrate.

2. centrally located, perfect for salespeople who want a base to opperate from. 20-40 minutes to Napa, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Marin, Berkeley.

3. Also because of central location..a great base for new comers to the Bay area to use as a launching pad to find their longer term place.

Guest access

You will have a private entrance and private bathroom. The space is a bedroom with a garden view(double sliding glass door) …so you can be inside but still able to enjoy nature. There are outside seating areas steps outside your space or you are welcome to venture down the steps to the lounge chairs on the deck or the other seating and viewing areas.

Interaction with guests

I am happy to welcome you and make you feel comfortable in whatever way that is for you…. To be left alone or to have conversation.

I have found that texting works like an intercom…it is not intrusive…. (preserve privacy) but gives us ability for necessary communication.

The neighborhood

Here on the hill you can take walks thru the oaks. Starbucks is at bottom of hill. Neighborhood restaurants nearby…serveral are a walk down the hill just past or before Starbucks. Grocery store is 1 mile. Trader Joes 3 miles.

Great food 25 minutes to Berkeley or 25-40 minutes to San Francisco.

Or a short drive15-20 minutes to reservoir with kayaking and picnicking. Tilden park 30-35 minutes with working antique carosel, steam train thru a redwood grove, golf course and ridge hikes with breathtaking Bay views.

Getting around

Bart and Amtrack are about 20 minute drive away (to Richmond station serving both. or 15 minutes to El del Cerrito Norte serving Bart only.

Other things to note

The views are the treat here ....180 degree sunrise to sunset. Even on overcast days…it feels like you are floating in the sky. On puffy cloud days the sunrise and sunset are blazing with color... and of course on clear nights the moon rises and travels overhead and stars and occasional metiors are wonderful.

I am semi retired. For 30 Years I made my living making custom glass metal and light sculptures for high end clients. I had a 3,000 foot studio in Sausalito and completed projects for movie mogules and other interesting clients who wanted to express themselves. The custom nature of the work allowed me to develope many skills beyond working with materials. The ability to listen deeply to what a client really wanted, not always what they said. The ability to communicate to glassblowers, metal smiths and other crafts men in a way that they felt the thrill of the creative adventure…not just a product to produce. I have enjoyed travel in many parts of the world, Japan, Burma, Bali,Brazile,Italy, Mexico, England Wales etc.
I will be traveling with my best friend Paul a former ER Doc and med school teacher. He lives in Davis and is retired and still very curious and full of energy to explore.
