**~~ Aloha Potential Guest,

I am offering my spare space for honest and friendly travelers. It is the queen size futon in the living room, but the capacity is truly only 2 guests maximum.

I am often home working and planning during most days, and some nights my event work keeps me out until late. My schedule is very fluid depending on what projects are getting close to completion - so you may see me all the time... or not at all. :-)

I do ask that you be respectful of the space by cleaning up after yourself with any food, cleaning up dishes or other major messes. Laundry for used sheets and a set of towels for the stay will be included in the cleaning costs fee, but general house keeping is not

Please be able to keep quiet hours between midnight-8a, with respect for the neighbors in the building and for my sleeping AM's.

_ thank you!
Kalikia

Interaction with Guests

This is a shared apartment space, though you will have a private bedroom. I always make sure guests are comfortable and always communicate regarding my personal use of the space, which is dependant on my schedule during the duration of the stay. I do enjoy guests who are personable, mostly because I am an "extrovert" personality. I always treat guests as if they are my friends, whether sharing conversation or giving guests personal space.

  • Kalikia's home is such an oasis. It's a great place to stay if you're looking to explore the East Bay. Her little dog is the sweetest, but be prepared to cuddle! :)

  • Kalikia was a really fun host. Her apartment was comfortable, clean, and green! She has plants in every available space and they really help to make the space feel like an oasis. She has a great vibe and her dog, Mizu was really sweet. The apartment is in a great neighborhood with great restaurants and convenient access to freeways. I would definitely recommend Kalikia's place to artists and other free spirits :)

  • Enjoyed my stay. Great host. Great location as far as right by freeways. Clean house. Would stay again.

    October 2012
  • My son stayed at Kalikia's apartment with a friend of his, and he liked both the atmosphere and the location very much. The apartment s very close to UC Berkeley, and close enough to BART and therefore SF. Kalikia herself was never present, she was on a lenghty trip, we only communicated via AirBnB and (website hidden), which worked well enough.

Unfortunately, the previous renters had left a huge mess, and since we arranged the rental on the same day it begun, Kalikia's roommate Fran did not have time enough to clean the apartment properly, and it didn't look as nice as on the pictures. There were also not enough clean bedsheets. Other reviews were raving about the cleanliness, so I assume that this was just bad luck. There was also some misunderstanding with the roommate, but in the end it worked out well enough.

  • Great flat. I've actually never met Kalikia, cause she was on vacation. Her Roommate was perfect (always helpful and a very nice person). We loved to spend time with her!!!
Unfortunately we had communicationproblems with Kalikia, wich is why we had to wait 6 hours to get into the apartment.
Even though it is in Oakland, it's still close to downtown San Francisco. The Place was very clean and cosy.
Anyway we would definetly come back! :-)

About
I am a creative professional (and social dragonfly) working in the Bay area art, music, and entertainment industry. I produce local events, model, DJ, and also am a THETA Healing practitioner. I love yoga orchids, cooking Thanksgiving dinner, dancing to bass music, Stephen King books, and eating ox tail. I grew up in Hawaii, Massachusettes, New York, and Holland and have lived in Oakland for the past 12 years. I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in new cultures and practices. I truly love meeting new people. I enjoy travelers who are friendly, fun, peaceful, clean, and conscientious. p.s - definitely cater to the ARTS and MUSIC crowd.
