The next shop is in Vevey (10 minutes walk + 4 minutes train - one train every hour) or in Chexbres, that you can reach in 3 minutes by car. There are 3 restaurants in the area. One very fine and one good and reasonable price in St-Saphorin Lavaux. And another quite famous italian restaurant is in the next village, 20 minutes walk from our place, in Rivaz.
You can easily come to our place by train (St-Saphorin Lavaux station) and walk to our place on a very beautiful pathway leading you through the ancient village and through the vineyards. It's a great 10-15 walk, but quite steep... That's why, upon arrival with your luggage, choose the train station of Vevey, where you will take a taxi that will drop you within 5-10 minutes at our place. It costs about 20.- chf. Drivers, you can park your car down our house, along the main road.
Le Domaine du Burignon (name of our place) is a small paradise. On sunny days, you can lie on long-chairs in the garden, go for nice walks around our place without a car, have a glass of wine on the terrace. One thing is clear for all our visitors : it would be a pity to stay just for one night !
We have a baby-travel-bed you can borrow on request. WiFi, independent entrance, garden, terrace, buy and drink wine, since you are among winemakers. Pets not allowed. No smoking. On request, breakfast served in our reception hall. Price: chf. 15.-/person. A rich breakfast with yogurts, eggs, different kinds of bread, butter, home made jam, local cheese and ham, fruit, juice, milk, tea, coffee.
One can have breakfast in the reception hall. The garden in front of the flats is for our guests. There is a coffee machine, a kettle and tea-bags always available for our guests. Coffee capsules are offered, cream and sugar of course also.

Interaction with Guests
I will welcome you and give you advice about what to see in the close area, explain how the coffee machine works, tell you about how to join me if you need to, and how to go around by foot. There is a reduction pass coming with your room, for everything you'd like to visit in the area of Montreux-Vevey. If eventually I was not in the place, you'd receive all the useful information per email. You can always join me on the phone if needed.
Nice walks in the area, in a great landscape. You can also go by bike, or go with a stroller, because the paths made for winemakers, are made of concrete. If you like wine, we have different kinds. Just ask us for a bottle.
You should not miss the Castle of Chillon, one of the jewels of the area. Close to that is the Freddy Mercury monument in Montreux.
It is not necessary to have a car if you visit us. If you have a car, you can park it along the road in front of the main house of the wine resort. Free parking. Try to arrive with daylight, and take our GPS data. We'll give them to you per email.
Otherwise, it is easy to take a train and arrive at the station of Vevey, where you'll take a taxi, that will drop you at Domaine du Burignon in about 5-10 min (for about 25.- chf.). If your luggage is not too big and heavy, I advise that you take a train to the station of St-Saphorin Lavaux, and climb up the hill to our place. No signs on the way. Just uphill and slightly to the left. You should see the house after 7 min. The path is incredibly beautiful (it's like taking off on a plane) and sincerely, at some places, very steep. Any normal person in a normally good health can handle it however. And then you'll deserve your stay :-)
After arrival, you can easily come and go by train to Vevey, Montreux, Lausanne, Genève or wherever. The train station is 10 min walk from our place.
Other Things to Note
It would be a pity to stay for only one night. That's what all our guests say. There's so much to enjoy on the place, and to see in the close area!
A blue ashtray outside by the bench on the balcony awaits the ashes of the smokers among our guests. It is totally forbidden to smoke cigarettes or anything else inside all the buildings of the resort.
Just ask us if you want another bottle of wine of the Domaine (17.-/bottle). Coffee and tea from the "coffee corner" in your flat are included in the price of the room.
There is no such thing as an additional bed (except for babies or children under 9 years old - who can sleep in their parents' bed). The flats are made for 4 people. If there are more than 4 guests, then you may ask for a second flat.
If the kitchen has been used, that means the stove, the oven and the fridge, those devices have to be cleaned up by the guests before they leave. The dishes with which the guests have eaten or drunk have to be washed up AND put back at their original place by the guests before they leave.
Except for the kitchen, the cleaning of the rest of the flat will be done by the hosts. No additional fee for that.
Pets, and in particular dogs, are not allowed on the property.
The most beautiful location! Mountains, lake and vineyards.
Thank you for your private feedback, Arlini. From now on, I'll leave a small map of the close area in the flat, that shows our place and the way to get down to the village. I advise the guests in advance NOT to come up from the station of St-Saphorin to our place on arrival day. Too steep for a luggage carrier, and too easy to get lost (no signs announcing Burignon until half way when you can see our house - well only with daylight). The right solution is to get off the train in Vevey and take a cab to Burignon. Send us your friends from South Africa :))
Perfect location midway between Lausanne and Montreux, with easy (walking) access to the train to whisk you all around Lake Geneva.
Beautiful views, comfortable digs, and best of all, a very accommodating hostess in Anne. She even picked us up personally when we made a mistake in getting to the property.
We also enjoyed the Domaine du Burignon Chasselas very much!
Anne's Bnb is amazing. I can totally recommend staying there. The view is amazing and it is a great location. There was a chocolate on the pillow and a bottle of wine waiting on arrival. Breakfast was great too.
The BnB is very clean, tidy with all the necessary facility and supply. The rooms are in decent size. The garden is large with facility for both adults and childern. The view from the garden is indeed stunning. The host was generous, warm and friendly. The area is one of the most wonderful places where we have ever been to. It is a perfect mixture of Alpine beauty and French romance. The little details such as small waterfalls in the vineyard and cute houses were heart capturing. On top of that, the wine is absolutely delicious! We are very happy with our one day staying and regret it was too short. I certainly will go back there one day.
We had a wonderful stay at the Castle in the Hill, the Views are truly stunning, and the location is close enough to Vevy for food etc and far enough away to feel like you are in a little piece of paradise. There are some great walks in the area and a very easy one among the vines... where along the away you can sample some of the local vino - we highly recommend it :)
The accommodation is comfy and clean, and the views just breathtaking, our host Anne is lovely. We really enjoyed our time here.
I highly recommend staying at the b&b. the views are breathtaking, the apt is very comfortable and the hosts are very nice. The location cannot be beat for exploring the wine country. The feeling you will have staying here is indescribable!
Anne was a wonderful host and took care of us for all our needs :) We were treated during our stay to a bottle of wine from the vineyard and fresh eggs from their chickens. The apartment is cosy and you feel at home. It was decorated with stylish linen and furnishings which add to its charm. The view is.......Stunning!!! You never tire of looking out of the windows towards Lake Leman and down at the stepped vineyards. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the "Castle in the hill" to other airbnb guests!!
