Interaction with Guests
Ketut will be on call to answer any queries. He will call by each morning to make sure everything is ok with both you and the house.
Penestanan is becoming an incredibly popular village. Just far enough out of the town centre to get you away from the madness of Ubud Centre, but close enough to walk or scoot into town if you wish to,. There are many artisans and cute cafes etc. At ight you will often hear the Gamelon music coming form the village nearby....
Hire a scooter, walk or catch a ride with a local driver.
Other Things to Note
“Will air-conditioning be required?”
As Ubud is much cooler than the coastal areas a fan is usually sufficient for our guests. The nights are warmer from November to March.
“How do I get to/from the airport?”
We offer an airport transfer service for a fee of Rp300,000. Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the 'arrivals' bay. The journey usually takes about an hour, depending on traffic.
“Are the mosquitoes a problem in Ubud?”
Like all tropical locations, Ubud has mosquitoes (non malarial) - This differs at different times of the year. All beds have mosquito canopies and insect repellant is on hand if needed
Light Menu available for small extra fee:
*10% service charge will be added on all food service.
*You will be billed upon check-out.
Staff was helpful... Hot water did not work the first day but they did fix it the very next day. Close to several restaurants and they were helpful in letting me rent a scooter. The bathtub and meditation areas were very unique and special Not sure I would stay here again though, somewhat loud between neighbors as its a tight fit between all other people around you. I would probably find a place with air conditioning and includes breakfast as many in Ubud do. Host did respond to questions but didn't necessarily check in and make sure I was able to check in, and commenter that the hot water was tricky when really it just wasn't working... They did did it big communication with the host is always helpful, or an apology for not having hot water on the first night.
Thank you Chad for your kind words as to the many positive and charming aspects of the cottage. It was very unfortunate that the hot water decided to have a problem right when you arrived. As you can appreciate, we certainly do not plan for these things to occur. Ketut and I were in constant communication during the situation until it was remedied which as you say was immediately. Our guests comfort is of utmost importance to us and will continue to be.
Susan's cottage, with its beautiful garden was perfect for our holiday. Off the main road, it's very quiet and private, but only a couple of minutes walk and we were at Alchemy Café up the road for a delicious, nourishing breakfast each morning. We loved walking along the stream, taking our choice of direction to go either to the Bintang supermarket/ATM/money changer or to Lala & Lilis (great food and atmosphere, inexpensive - we were regulars) and on to the Penestanan Steps and into Ubud. We had wonderful massages at the salon at the Banana Leaf café resort complex.
Ketut met us at the airport and transferred us back for our return journey. He is a courteous and safe driver and reliable in his duties.
If you want to feel that you are "living" in Ubud, this lovely accommodation is for you.
This cottage is authentic to Bali with it's traditional style, furnishings and tranquil native garden. The bifold doors open to connect you with nature whilst relaxing inside this quaint cottage that feels like home. The bath and mediation room were gorgeous!
It is quiet, secure and yet so close to many restaurants. Bali Bridges and Clear Kafe opposite the beautiful temple are a 10 minute walk. Bubu's warung in front is good food and they deliver to the Villa, very handy for breakfast. The bali black rice porridge with banana is the go! Our favourite restaurant was Element a little down the road on foot. Recommend the tuna steak and Barramundi risotto. Good prices and service.
We loved the location and Ketut the host was kind and responsive to all our needs. Susan 's communication is good and prompt. We will definitely return! Thankyou Susan for a wonderful stay.
We stayed one month in Bali in ten places and this house is definitely one we will remember. We wouldn't want to leave!
The villa is Nice decorated , the garden is just beautiful !!!
She is very well located : just a few steps from the main road that takes you into the center of Ubud , but in absolute tranquility.
The kitchen is well equipped: toaster, small electric oven , blender for fresh juice !!!!
we haven't had the opportunity to met Susan but you can always contact her and she quickly answer . Ketut welcomed us, he is very friendly and make your stay pleasant.
we hope to have the opportunity to return one day !!!
a small corner of paradise we strongly recommand.
This villa was amazing. Susan answered all of my questions before the trip and left contact information for the villa manager. Ketut was awesome. For a fee, he came and picked us up at the airport since we arrived at 1:00am. He then woke up very early the next day to help us meet our cooking class transport. The room was cleaned everyday and there was even fruit left for us the first day. The pool was a very nice addition and was very clean. This is not the place for you if you prefer an airconditioned, critter free environment. If being close to nature is your style, this villa is perfect. Overall, an amazing deal!
Beautiful Villa in a great spot! Clean & tidy. Resturants right out the front and only a 10 minute walk yo the main on ubud. No issues at all, friendly staff ready to help. Thank you for the accomodation on such short notice, thank you Susan!
