About this listing
Charming and cozy 1 bedroom apartment located in Monteverde Vecchio, one of the most beautiful neighborhood in Rome right above Trastevere.
Fully and nicely furnished. Living room with two large windows and corner kitchen. One bedroom with a full size bed. Bathroom with bathtub, shower and laundry (website hidden), wi fi internet connection and independent heat system. A very good supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, two special food stores (one specialized in delicious different kind of meat and one in several types of local products from the south of Italy!), gym, newspaper store and pharmacy, all at walkable distance (literally around the corner).
Nearby there is Villa Panphili, a famous historical villa, surrounded by one of the largest and most beautiful park in Rome (ideal for walks or jogging). Easy commuting: bus n.8 and n.75 (at few minutes walk) will get you in the center of Rome in less then fifteen minutes. Walkable distance as well from Trastevere's train station which connects you very quickly with Fiumicino airport, with Stazione Centrale (the main train station in Rome) and with S. Peter Church.
The place is cozy and very comfortable, in a quite, charming and peaceful atmosphere surrounded by trees and flowers. It is located in a characteristic small street in the heart of this historical and very beautiful neighborhood above Trastevere. If you are a couple or a single looking for a nice place in Rome without breaking the bank, you will hardly find a better deal around.
Francesco's flat is exactly how you see it: no bad surprises. It is perfectly clean, cozy and with all furnitures. I simply fell in love with it!
Also the neighborhood (Monteverde vecchio) is stunning: quite, full of green and very close to the city center and Trastevere. It is well connected with public transportation (tram n. 8 and bus n. 75).
Throughout my staying, I was in contact with Francesco's wife, Gabriella, who has always been super friendly and easygoing.
Highly recommendable. Should I need a flat in Rome, no doubt Francesco's flat is going to be my first choice!
Francesco was responsive and helpful in my inquiries, and although I didn't get to meet him, Gabi was just as welcoming and friendly. The place is a great, quiet haven but close to the points of interest. I loved staying here! Thank you!
Amazing little place. The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant and the apartment is very well equipped, clean and close enough to services and transportation that I would happily stay there again.
Francesco and Gabriella have been welcoming, helpful and generous.
Lovely appartement! Very cozy and charming indeed, a very nice host and a perfect communication. We arrived very late and Gabi even offered us a little tour in the neighbourhood.
The place is really quiet and cool and from there it's a nice walk to almost everywhere!
Don't forget to walk to the Pamphili Park for a lazy sunday! Thanks again for the tip, Gabi! We really loved it!
we stayed there 5 nights and found it a great place to be. since rome is such a lively city, it's great to have a cozy place to recover. we didnt meet francesco since he was on the road. but gabi was there on our first day to welcome us. she was really sweet and uncomplicated. the apartement is tasteful furnished and appointed with everything one needs. it is situated in a calm street. the tram is 5 minutes away. trastevere station maybe 7 minutes. it's a 20 minutes walk to trastevere. there is also a supermarket around the corner.
we really enjoyed it and recommend this need little apartement to everyone who wants to have a great time in rome.
Wonderful and quiet apartment in a cozy neighborhood. Very easy access to central Rome via Metrobus 8. Heartily recommended.
A wonderful stay in a wonderful city, in the pretty, quiet part of Trastevere but on the brink of where the life is: a perfect setting for a couple like us. A lovely kitchen, perfect for a stay that is a bit longer, a supermarket and everything you might need in 3 minutes: make your own haute cuisine menu every evening. With those products, it's easy..
The only thing that might need to be mentioned: it's a quiet little street, but just mention Via Alessandro Poerio to the taxi driver and you'll be fine: one of the most beautiful streets in Rome. Bus 75 stops there too: we found it simply wonderful that a mundane thing like waiting for a bus became such a beautiful thing: we did our waiting in front of the Colosseum..and that very bus took us right to a wonderful little source of peace and quiet which we could call our own. And if it's needed, you can just walk there from the other side of the Tevere; if you've been walking around all day, a nice walk home is no problem at all. :)
Going back to Fiumicino is very easy using the nearby Trastevere train station, although sometimes Italian transportation could be a bit moody simetimes.
Gabi was as good a host as she could be: very nice, explaining us everything we needed and there when we needed her. Our next trip to Rome (and it WILL be happening since we threw coins into the Trevi fountain - it was on the internet so it must be true!) we will be glad to stay there again.
All in all: if you want luxury in front of the Spanish steps, don't take this. If you want charm and the spirit of what Rome is really like: this is the place for you. You have all you need.
Until next time, Gabi! And thank you Francesco!
