About This Listing
Stay in a classic Williamsburg artist loft right in the heart of Williamsburg! Enjoy the uncommon spaciousness of loft living while taking in the best of what is arguably the hippest neighborhood of NYC - just outside the door! Prices vary per season
The room is sunny and luxuriously spacious with a full-sized bed and a wonderful view of the Williamsburg Bridge, the namesake of the neighborhood. For being in the heart of bustling Williamsburg, the loft has a quiet, peaceful, airy feel. The apartment is smoke-free, bike friendly, and there is a house canine, which will stay out of the way but guests should be prepared for a friendly greeting.
This is great for people who are apartment hunting or on vacation!
There is an air mattress available for extra guests. Towels and linens are included.
There is a large kitchen that floods with sunshine in the morning. Refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, a giant kitchen table- guests are welcome to stock a little food and cook if they'd like.
Point of interest: there is no television here. The loft is like the eye in the middle of the whirlwind which is exciting New York City. If you are looking for a peaceful, spacious, centrally located home base for your visit to NYC, look no further!
Interaction with Guests
I live here, so I will definitely be around. Although I generally don't cross paths often with guests- guests are usually out & about, while I am busy living the NYC life.
Just around the corner- Bembe for dancing; Marlow and Sons, Diner, Dumont Burger, La Superior for dining; Glasslands, Skinny Dennis, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Knitting Factory for music; art galleries practically surround the place…
And that is just the beginning of what fun and exciting nightlife is mere steps away! Not to mention the plentiful independent shops and bookstores all a stone’s throw away from the front door.
The neighborhood is very safe, and the loft is conveniently located 1 subway stop away from Manhattan- Lower East Side, East Village, Union Square a 10 minute train ride.

I felt very welcome from the moment I stepped off the elevator - actually, before that - during our communication leading up to my stay. The funkiness of the loft doesn't quite come through in the photos, and I hadn't realized that Whyte is an actual artist - it's a fun experience to stay there. The room is down a long bending hallway so it feels quite private. And the space is huge, by any standards; by NYC standards it is ridiculous. I ended up having an unusual week of working nonstop, including a couple days I worked through the night and into the day and was really comfortable in the space, which is very important to me. And the view of the Williamsburg Bridge and Manhattan helped me avoid feeling like a shut-in. I didn't feel like I was intruding, didn't feel awkward, and the energy of the space helped me be hugely productive. Bunny the dog is a sweetie-pie. The bathroom is clean and bright. And if you don't know the neighborhood, you will love it.
Wonderful apt and host. It's a spacious room, nicely decorated, with an awesome view (Williamsburg Bridge), in a nice area of town with plenty of parking, eating, and places to go. And for me, it was also a wonderful bonus that I could ditch my car (plenty of free parking) and take the public transit with the subway stations just a short walk from the apartment.
I didn't get a chance to thank host while I was there, but many thanks Gwendolyn. With any luck I will return soon.
Friendly host, great room, smooth check-in process. View of Brooklyn Bridge never gets old. Lots of good places to eat and drink nearby. Bathroom is very clean; great shower. Entrance through long hallway is strange at first, but fine once you get used to it. Highly recommended.
We had a great stay at White's apartment, slept really well with so much beautiful natural light from the window in the mornings. We felt really at home and welcome. The location was great for exploring that part of the city and nearby, we also took the river ferry a few times on her recommendation which was great and the nearest metro stop isn't far at all. Using the key deposit system was really handy too, it meant we could check in any time and leave without the hassle of organising to meet up, and it was literally round the corner to pick the keys up too. We would both love to stay here again if we come back to New York. Highly recommend it as a place to stay!
Jen's apartment has the most spectacular views. It is very convenient for the subway and a selection of great restaurants. It is spotless. The shower was great. Jen is around mornings and evenings to answer queries. She was friendly and helpful. There is an elevator to reach the fifth floor. All in all a convenient and dramatic place to stay in NYC.
Ben is the best guest ever! A quite out-going and quietly enthusiastic artist, Ben is both an interesting and pleasant guest to have around. I look forward to seeing his work and hope we cross paths in the future. Highly recommended to host, Ben is such a lovely person!
Everything as Seen on the pix. Great neighbourhood, easy to get to Manhatten. Mrs. White is a very friendly Person. According to the Flat's Size the bed could be potentially bigger without harming the vast appearance of a Loft. A+ recommended.
Wolfgang, you are hilarious. Let it be noted Wolfgang is quite tall, and yes, there was a bit of a bed debacle in Wolfgang's case. Recommendation noted on bed size, my friend, although it has accommodated my guests well until Wolfgang came along! Lol.
Wolfgang is an easy-going and generous guest, with a good sense of humor and adventure. A pleasure to host, A+ recommended as well!
