About This Listing
You can see on the Rhein its very nice.
You have a kitchen and a bathroom.
This is a wonderful place to stay. It is in a very quiet neighborhood right next to the river, so if you enjoy jogging that is a big plus. Also, it about 6-8 min from the S-bahn making it easy to catch a trolley when you want. Stephan is an extremely nice person with the best of intentions and his cat is just lovely. For the most part he is out of the way and is always kind in offering a drink and talking. I do suggest staying here, well that is as long as you don't mind a friendly cat.
I actually, booked this stay for a friend, without realizing that I was logged in. :)
I liked it. I stayed there for 3 nights and I enjoyed Stephan's company, he was very kind and generous. The place was clean all over. I would highly recommend it!!!
I stayed 8 weeks at Stefan's ! Sleeping on a comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. Well, the view on the Rhein is not exactly like on this picture. From the window, you can appreciate the green grass of the dike, all the colors of the sky and only a little bit the river. The Laar area (20 minutes by tram from Duisburg main station) is not exceptional, except the proximity with the interesting Binnenschiffahrt Museum, the Rhein (behind the dike) with the traffic of the peniches, a bar (Zum Hübi) with terrace along the channel in the renovated part of Ruhrort , and a supermarket Kaufland (10-15 minutes on foot). The flat is clean and comfortable. Stefan is a kind host. As it was written in a precedent review, he is amazing and original. He also can be discret and respectfull. He loaned me his bike, which was very useful for me coming back late or visiting the surroundings. His cat Tiffy is an elegant, clever and sweet old lady. Even if we didn't exchange a lot with Stefan (because i don't speak German and he spoke in a basic English), we easily shared the flat for such a long time. It's just a pitty that there was no Wifi connection (except by a so slow 2 or 3G key). To resume, i spent quiet time at Stefan's in this city of Duisburg, which is not the most romantic place to spend the summer.
A fantastic newly renovated apartment right on the river. A very comfortable fold out sofa bed. I stayed over a week and loved it. Car parking on the street is plentiful. I would highly recommend it. Stefan the host was amazing and couldn’t do enough to make my stay perfect. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met.
