Location

West Knighton, England, United Kingdom

Higher Lewell Farmhouse (our house) was originally built in the 1760’s and the date can be seen clearly written in brick on the front of the house. The house is situated at the top of Hardys Row on the outskirts of the village backing on to fields. Hardys Row was named after Thomas Hardy's father who built 6 houses on the row to house the poor of the village. West Knighton, the village we live in, is in the centre of Thomas Hardys stunning countryside. We are on the edge of the village backing onto fields so it is very quiet. The village is very pretty particularly in spring and summer as many of our neighbours are very keen gardeners. The village has a lovely pub serving very good food a 3 minute walk away and you can also walk to the next door village which has a very good pub too.

My husband Mike and I have lived in Dorset all our lives, both growing up on farms near Dorchester. We moved into the Farmhouse in 2008 and have completely fallen in love with it, the garden and our village. We have been running the B and B since 2011 and really enjoy it. We have met some really lovely people and both love having guests in the house, whether they come for parties, a rest or to explore Dorset. We have a very friendly dog and 3 cats, who all love children, and lots of chickens and ducks. We both love animals, wildlife and nature. Mike is a landscape gardener and tree surgeon, I am interested in mental health and nutrition and when I have time I volunteer for the Dorset Wildlife Trust and Compassionate Dorset. In March 2019 our son Freddie was born, we feel extremely lucky and are loving being parents.
