Putney is a residential and shopping district in south London, located in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is situated 5.1 miles (8.2 km) south-west of Charing Cross. For centuries, Putney was a place where Londoners came for leisure, to enjoy the open spaces and clean air. Since the second half of the 19th century, Putney has been one of the most significant centres for rowing in the United Kingdom.
The nearest underground/metro station is East Putney (district line Zone 2) and mainline station Putney. This will go to Waterloo. There are useful buses from the high street: 74 bus goes to South Kensington and Oxford Street, 22 bus goes to Sloane Squae and 14 bus to Fulham Road.
Putney is very well-served by buses, tubes and the rail network.
Putney, one of the pleasantest of the London suburbs, as well as the most accessible. The immense increase in the number of houses in late years testifies to its popularity; but there is still an almost unlimited extent of open ground which cannot be covered; and with wood and water, common and hill, there will always be an element of freshness and openness in Putney seldom to be obtained so near London. Richmond Park, formerly royal land is a 15 minute bus ride away.
Very frequent trains from London Waterloo, via Clapham Junction, to Putney Rail station. From Putney Rail station there are fairly frequent trains to Richmond, Hounslow and out towards Windsor.

Rose was a wonderful host. The room was exactly the way it was shown in the picture. The house was very quiet and everything was very clean, including the bathroom. The location was great. The bus stop was just a few minutes away and the East Putney subway station was only 10 minutes by foot. Rose’s place was a wonderful place to relax, rest and have a good nights sleep.
Amazing week. It was my first time using AirBnb and I was pleased.
The room and the house is clean and quiet. The bathroom was always in perfect conditions. It offers wi-fi and breakfast.
Rose is an excelent host, she is caring and very entertaining.
Definitively a place to come back to.
Returning to Rose's home each evening was most refreshing. Putney in zone 2, is so green and its not a crowded tourist area so there is no worries of being pickpocketed. A short walk away is the famous River Thames and Putney Pier, a joy to wander by or stop for a drink by the pubs. I asked Rose how she managed to keep her linens so white and clean . The whole house is bright and fresh. I especially enjoyed my attic room which was roomy and so private. The location was superb. Most convenient was Sainsbury's, the supermarket which you can't miss after getting off the bus. Some of us who do not enjoy negotiating those hard stone steps of the nearby tube stations will find this location marvellous as the bus stop is only 2 minutes away on the main road.. eventually I took my favourite bus 430 to South Kensington for the Picadilly train to London Heathrow for home. Thank you Rose and Alicia for both your delightful and hospitable company. I wish I could stay longer. So hope to see you again soon.
A very nice place on a good location in London. Clean and secure, good value for money. The hosts are kind and helpful. Recommended for everyone.
