Location is fantastic. If you are looking to hit the shopping of London immediately, this apartment is at an excellent location. It is a walk-up apartment & there are many convenient cafes along the streets. Irish pubs, asian restaurants, you name it. A short walk to Oxford Street, Bond Street, Regents Street, Leicester Square, Soho, Trafalgar Square, Regents Park, Mayfair and even King's Cross and Euston and it's very easy to get a bus to Paddington if you are coming from Heathrow airport. Most of the tourist sites are walking distance including the British Museum, Regents Park, National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Buckingham Palace.
If you wish to arrive or depart earlier or later than it is designated here, please contact me and we will work something out. I had to change my policy due to another guest who abused the word "flexible". I apologize on his behalf.
There is a 30 GBP extra payment for arrivals after 10pm (22:00) which represents the cost for the taxi for the person who will be at the apartment to hand you the keys and you pay him/her cash on the spot.
Fitzrovia is itself a quite vibrant neighborhood with Charlotte street having first class restaurants and bars. Fitzrovia boasts a very large concentration of boutique art galleries as well. Access into the Fitzroy garden is only from 12-2pm during summertime and it is shut for winter.
Public Transport - Because of our central location you have numerous underground stations to choose from (Warren Street, Goodge Street, Great Portland Street, Euston) All of which are a 5 minute walk away. Several bus routes and obviously 24 hour taxis.
We suggest the following way using public transportation:
Get the Picadilly line from Heathrow until Green Park and then change to Victoria line north and get out to Warren str.
The flat is in the second floor, without elevator, narrow stairs

On Saturday noon, April 28th, 2012 I had an issue with the boiler in the apartment. I paid back in full the guest who stayed in the apartment during the incident, and I called a technician to be at the apartment first thing in Monday morning. He didn't appear on time, the other guest was busy so we moved everything for the next day. I was told that I need to change the boiler and I contacted the guest telling him what happened and making sure that the next guest coming on the 6th won't have troubles.
Most likely the problem at the apartment will be fixed before my next guest but I didn't want to ruin anyone's vacation. So until I am sure that it will be fixed, I will make sure that I won't destroy their vacation due to a broke down boiler. For that reason, I had to cancel all "near" reservations
This is how i would like someone to deal with me as a guest, if one was in my shoes, so I did the same.

Mak was extremely responsive via email and phone calls. I had no problem getting into the flat and my stay (for a month) was great. He was able to coordinate a cleaning service during the middle of my stay, which was helpful because I was working a lot. The flat is centrally located in Fitzrovia, near some of the best restaurants in London. The Warren Street and Great Portland Street tube stops are also located nearby, as well as Regent's Park, which is a great place to go for a run. I highly recommend the flat and would stay there again on my next visit.
It has a great location and proximity to Euston Station and numerous underground stations. Tidy, basic, and has what you need. Would definitely stay here again while we still have a baby. You get much more for your money than you would a hotel.
I stayed for more than 3 weeks in Mak's property. It is on a quiet residential street, but most conveniently located and within easy walking distance to a number of tube stations and shopping mecca Oxford Street and Regent Street.
There are a number of very good restaurants within just a few minutes walk. The Chinese restaurant on the ground floor is easily one of the best in London and I know my Chinese food as I am Chinese myself.
The flat itself is very comfortable and warm. Broadband connection is very fast and smooth. There is no TV, but almost everything else one needs for a few nights in London can be found in the flat.
Mak is a wonderfully helpful host, very quick in responding to emails. If I ever need to be in London again, I most certainly would choose this place.
We had a fabulous stay in London! The apartment was exactly like its pictures, and the location was great! The apartment is near several good pubs, central to bus and Metro stations and very close to Regents Park. It was clean, had a new refrigerator, very hot water, and a comfy bed (better than the fancy hotel we stayed at the first night in town).
Makis was very helpful and kind and answered (very promptly) every question I had. This was my first trip overseas and my first use of Airbnb and I would highly recommend both Makis' property and Airbnb. Thank you for your patience with me Mak, we had a great stay!
We had a great time staying in this little flat. The neighborhood is great -- quiet yet close to everything you need from stores to restaurants to tube stations. Most importantly, Mak was really accommodating and responsive. The fridge was broken before we arrived, and Mak let us know of the issue, scheduled a time for it to be repaired during our stay, and discounted our entire stay for the inconvenience. Really great service. We enjoyed our stay, and appreciated how promptly and politely Mak handled everything from start to finish.
This is the second time that I've stayed at Mak's flat in London while I was in town on business. Clean, bright, and utilitarian, it was perfect for my needs. The neighborhood is fantastic for restaurants, pubs, and shops, and there is easy access to the Underground and bus routes, too. Thanks Mak!
Makis was a great host. We had a problem with the hot water in the unit and Mak was very responsive and on top of handling the issue. He fully reimbursed us for our stay and handled everything so that our time in London was still enjoyable. The flat is in a great location and many attractions are accessible via the tube or within walking distance. Highly recommended.
We found the apartment to be in a super convenient location to multiple tube stations, walking distance to so many great restaurants, and the neighborhood felt very safe for late night returns. The apartment had everything we needed- wifi, hair dryer, comfy bed, and even a list of local recommendations. Communication with Mak was very smooth, even though we didn't have a phone. It was an exceptionally hot weekend, so the apartment did get quite warm, but we were out the majority of the daytime anyway. Thank you for the wonderful stay, Mak, we would be happy to stay here again!
Mak's place is very centrally located, and was easy to get to (took about an hour from Gatwick via National Rail and the Tube). The apartment had a great bed, and many thoughtful tools to help our stay, including international power adapters, a printer, a clothes washer/dryer, and some London guide books and maps.
Our one complaint - and this has nothing to do with the apartment - is that the Pub down the street could get a bit noisy at night. Closing the windows completely muffled the sound, but with windows closed the room could get quite hot in the summer. We ended up compromising and cracking the windows slightly.
Check-in was very smooth; we met Mak's maid who gave us the keys and an overview of the apartment. We would absolutely consider staying at Mak's place again the next time we are in London.
