The Space

Located in the Hudson Valley, 2 hours North of NYC, our 27 acre Farm is home to horses, chickens, bunnies, dogs, cats and other farm animals. Enjoy our walking trails, creek, bonfires, wood fired pizza oven and luxurious hot tub. Our property is far from any large roads and is perfect for families with children and pets or for couples wishing to have a romantic weekend surrounded by nature.

In winter our property becomes a "Winter Wonderland"; SNOW SHOEING or CROSS COUNTRY SKIING ski right on our property or drive 10 minutes to Minawaska or Mohonk and ski their well groomed trails and ICE SKATE at Mohonk's beautiful Ice Pavilion.

About the Yurt:

The Yurt is well insulated, has baseboard heat and a lovely gas fireplace, outside the front door is a deck with a private barbeque and nearby a private fire pit so you can sit by the camp fire and roast marshmallows.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

  • Before we jumped in to squirreling New York, this was the best place to go. We enjoyed it very much, a peaceful place in an intact nature with people who care for you, perfect

  • This was a great vacation! The property has a couple of other cabins where guests can stay near the main house and fire pit, but the yurt is nestled in its own private area beyond the horse stables, secluded but in walking distance from the main house & parking lot. It's lovely to be able to have such privacy surrounded by nature and also have convenience at the same time.

The kitchen was adequate for cooking our own meals, the cabinets stocked with glasses, mugs, dishes, a few pots & pans, and cooking & dining utensils. Pizza night was also fun. At night, we made a campfire in the pit near the yurt and roasted marshmallows.

We went strawberry picking at the farm that's about a 5 minute drive away. We followed directions left in the yurt to a nearby swimming hole for some refreshing freshwater swimming. Another group staying on the property went roller skating at a nearby rink. On our way out, we drove to nearby Minnewaska State Park for hiking and a picnic. A great weekend away from the city for our dogs and us!

One tip: bring a sleeping mask if you're not an early riser. The sun is bright streaming through the oculus in the middle of the yurt's roof.

Thanks, Beth & Tim, for a wonderful weekend! We hope to be back soon.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the yurt. The property is gorgeous and our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely consider returning to the yurt and even bringing friends along next time.

  • We had an amazing weekend hiking and relaxing at the yurt. It was very comfortable and we loved walking around the farm and playing with the cats and horses. We didn't get to meet Tim, but Beth was just lovely!

  • Very nice people, nicely-furnished yurt with lots of kitchen equipment; a very relaxing and beautiful place. Just be well aware that they have a strict cancellation policy.

  • Beth and Tim were wonderful hosts, welcoming us into their lives and sharing their amazing property with our small group. The farm is exactly as advertised: horses, a small flock of chickens, three friendly dogs, and apparently they have some rabbits on the way. There's also a nice hill pasture that rises above the surrounding forest, which would be perfect for astronomy on a clear night. We got clouds and some rain, which led to a double rainbow stretching over the farm just before sunset - it was like being part of a Pissarro landscape.

The yurt itself was fantastic; it's a bit further away from their other properties (an apartment by the house and annex on the barn) in a more secluded spot at the edge of their farmland by the woods. The decorations are funky and fun, and it really is a luxury yurt - hardwood floors, full amenities, hot water, plenty of electrical outlets, etc. We were a group of 4 and it fit us perfectly, with two of us in the bedroom and two in the loft area. There's a futon in the living room area of the yurt that could sleep another 2 people, but it's not as private as the other two sleeping spots if that's a concern for you.

Overall we were really impressed with our experience. I also highly recommend doing their breakfast or another meal option with them, both for the great food and fun conversation. The farm hosts a couple other airbnb rentals and occasional work-stay guests as well, and Beth and Tim have created an environment with the Yurt rental where you can feel free to be as social or as independent from the others as you like, due to it's relative seclusion from the main house/barn area.

  • We loved staying at Beth's & Tim's yurt. Everything is exactly as pictured. Beds are very comfortable, bathroom well equipped and the property is beautiful.
Tim and Beth were great hosts and we would love to come back for another visit!

  • My family recently visited Beth and Tim's yurt. The yurt is spacious, for sure, easily accommodating 6 people. It's quirky and interesting inside and out. Not glamorous, but definitely full of modern conveniences when compared to camping in the woods. The kitchen is rustic but fully functional (there's even an oven if you feel the need to bake a cake), the fridge kept even a bag of ice nice and solid.

My city kids (11 & 7) loved roaming the property, visiting the horses, checking out the vegetable garden, and playing with the brand-new kittens. We definitely felt free to stroll around and enjoy the fields, woods and creek. Tim took us on a fascinating tour of the other places to stay on the property, showing us the barn and even inside their home.

We'll definitely be going back! Tim told us that bunnies are on their way, and maybe even goats! I like that the kids were welcome to visit the animals, but it's not a kiddie farm at all. It felt more like we were getting to see what country life is really like. Beth and Tim are charming and open — but they're not pushy or intrusive at all. The yurt is removed enough from the other accommodations for total privacy, but it's not isolated — we were all by ourselves when we enjoyed the hot tub up by the main house, though it might be an active place if more people are visiting. The sky is vast and dark — perfect for stargazing — and the outdoor fire pit and indoor gas stove were cozy on the chilly evening.

  • My boyfriend and I came to stay at Beth and Tims farm for a few days of relaxing after camping. They are the ultimate hosts, so friendly with stories you could listen to all night. We loved the yurt (obviously) and cooking and building a fire in the 'tee-pee' was so satisfying.
Even though our stay was only two days we hope to be back soon and help out on the farm. They are truly beautiful souls and everyone should experience hospitality and friendship like theirs.

Thanks again and we will be seeing you soon!

  • My kids (11 and 8) and I had a fantastic weekend at the yurt. We loved exploring the woods and staying in such a peaceful setting. Tim and Beth were very interesting and kind people, and we enjoyed getting to know them, even if just a little. You should opt for the breakfast at least one morning.

Be sure to check out the pottery shop on main street. And if you are a race fan, Accord Raceway is a cool local track (our first racing experience).

    Very much hope to return.
