About this listing
Located on the side of Mt. Davidson, San Francisco. The basic price covers two guests, comfortable double beds, and shared bath. Convenient parking/public transit. There is a cat who stays downstairs with me. There are options for up to 3 rooms.
This is a quiet, detached house on Mt. Davidson. I'm located a 20 min. walk to Muni metro transit into downtown. The house is located in an easy parking neighborhood if you will be driving, but it's fine to leave your car here while exploring the city. Free wifi included.
I try to respond to inquiries promptly. Please note I do not have access to airbnb during the workday, so typically I'll respond after 5 pm my local time. Thanks!
I live downstairs with my own accommodations. I'm also willing to make arrangements for family or groups to rent the entire upstairs (3 bedrooms, bathroom, living room, and kitchen).
Interaction with Guests
I will be present during your stay and will provide continental breakfast every day. I work daytimes, sometimes at home and sometimes in the office. I'm friendly but live downstairs in a separate area. I also speak Spanish, German, and Bahasa Indonesia.
This is a quiet area, but is surprisingly convenient to downtown and all tourist attractions. The top of Mt. Davidson is a 15-minute walk with spectacular views of the city.
A Muni Metro subway station is located a 20 minutes' walk away, and there is also a bus connection to the metro station less than 10 minutes' walk. I'm happy to provide directions and information and make recommendations for things to do and see in the city.
Other Things to Note
I have a friendly, gentle cat who stays downstairs with me, but the house is probably not suitable for anyone with cat allergies. Sorry, I cannot accommodate other pets as my cat doesn't get along well with them. The house is located on the ocean side of San Francisco. Note that SF is often cool and foggy during the summer months, so it's wise to bring warm clothing.
No smoking please. Please feel at home. You are welcome to use the common areas for relaxing, preparing food, and generally enjoying the house. I sleep about 11 pm and ask that the house be quiet after that time until about 6/7 am.
Mark's home was a wonderful place for my wife and I to base our visit in San Fransisco. From our first day Mark made us feel welcome and helped us acclimate to the city. He was a tremendous resource for everything we needed from city transportation to helping me find a good route to run around this city famous for steep hills.
Mark made us so welcome in his lovely home! He was very courteous and kind, helped us with every question we had.
The place is 30 mins away from downtown by public transit, but in a very quiet neighborhood with a nice view. We felt very much "at home". Would definitely recommend staying there!
It was a pleasure staying with Mark. He provided us with breakfast every morning. Everything was very easy, parking and finding our way around the neighborhood. Very respectful host, definitely enjoyed our stay.
We had an excellent experience staying in Mark's house. The house was probably built around 1960, and has most of the original tile work, oak floors, and fixtures. It's very well maintained. The living room/dining room has a great view south-eastward, over the South bay. All the rooms were very clean, and our beds were very comfortable.
Mark communicated with us prior to our arrival, and was there to greet us and show us the house. We had the main level of the house to ourselves. Mark's room is downstairs. Mark set the table for breakfast, with excellent coffee, fruit, yogurt, and cereal. There was parking on the street right in front of Mark's house, a rarity in San Francisco.
Mark's house is in a residential neighborhood, about 2 blocks from a bus station. It's very quiet in the evening.
Overall, it was an excellent experience, and if the occasion arises, we will stay here again.
Mark was a wonderful host and was able to provide is with great tips in getting around the city and cool neighborhoods to visit. The view from his living room is incredible on a clear day. The house is in a picturesque San Francisco neighborhood as well. Coffee and a light breakfast in the morning was a great bonus to our stay.
Me and a friend stayed with Mark for 2 days and we really loved it there. Mark is so friendly, and provided us with breakfast every morning and a bottle of vine when we arrived.
The room is nice and quiet, and Mark is nice to help if you have any questions and give directions. All in all a really good experience.
