The house is perfectly located to fully enjoy all the wonderful places of interest, activities and lanscapes the region offers: Nimes, a beautiful gallo-roman city, the Pont du Gard and its exhibitions, the historical city of Uzés, St Quentin la Poterie, the pottery village, many wein cellars, the gorges du Gardon that you can canoe-down passing under the pont du Gard... The beautiful cities of Arles (Camargue aera) and Avignon are also just 30 min drive.
There's a bus line between the village and Nîmes.
This was a fabulous vacation and everything advertised. I would recommend highly to anyone considering booking this home. My wife and I enjoyed a very romantic getaway and enjoyed the local sites and wines.
I can highly recommend this place. The house is clean, comfortable (air conditioning, great beds, shower, nice garden en even swimming pool) and very nicely located. Marianne and her husband are great hosts, very kind, interesting and helpful (great breakfast too!).
A major plus is the proximity of great tourists spots and an excellent network of roads, both highways and national roads leading to places like Nimes, or Avignon, Pont du Gard, Provence, Camargue...A great experience!
Our experience was fantastic. Our hosts, Marianne and Etienne, were charming and very helpful in receiving us into their home. The separate dwelling we stayed in was clean and beautiful, perfect for our stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer and feel we have made some new friends. We hope they will come to visit us if they make it to our little corner of the planet in their travels...
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Marianne's lovely self-contained apartment. It was very easy to find, using the directions provided and we had a pleasant and very comfortable stay.
Marianne was very accommodating, offering advice on local sights and places to eat, and making herself available if we needed her, but allowing us privacy as well.
The apartment was delightful, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom modern and offering all amenities - and best of all, we had space and peace and quiet. Saint-Gervasy is a very pretty little town and there are many sights worth seeing within a short drive.
Breakfast was a feast, served on the terrace each morning at a time that suited us. Marianne's home made bread, cakes and preserves were delicious and there was a wide choice of fruit, yoghurt and juice as well.
Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Merci, Marianne!
Marianne & family could not have been more sweet or helpful. Our little boy broke his leg on the steps of the rental but Marianne did everything in get power to make sure we got all the help and support we needed during a very difficult situation.
Before our little incident we really enjoyed their beautiful place. The pool was relaxing and the breakfast superb-most of it being home made:)
All I can do is add on to the hype of this place-fantastic experience! Marianne and her husband are kind beyond words. As Marianne told us she runs an airbnb more for meeting new people than for profit-and it shows. She was there to answers any questions, give recommendations and help us plan, hear about our day, invited us to share a bottle of wine with her and her husband and of course provided her famous breakfast every morning. The apartment itself was fantastic and set in a beautiful garden with privacy from the main house. Great location for day trips to the many sites around. Overall a truly wonderful experience!
We highly recommend Marianne and Etienne's place in St. Gervasy. Marianne is most welcoming and gracious. She helped us find a doctor a short distance away and was very accommodating. We really appreciate her kindness. Be aware that not much of anything is open Sundays and Mondays in the area in the way of restaurants. Also, travellers from the US... the automated gas stations don't take US credit cards. It can be a problem finding a place with an attendant in order to get gas. We were on fumes by the time we found a place to fill the tank.
Both Marianne and the residence were wonderful. We could not have asked for a more comfortable and peaceful location. The service (breakfast, recommendations, bookings, etc) provided by Marianne were a pleasant and much needed contrast to several other airBnB bookings we had on this trip. This was a true BnB experience. Marianne was kind enough to book several reservations for us during our stay and went so far as to research driving and train alternatives to Monaco.
Overall, perfect place to stay. We highly recommend it.
Our experience with Marianne Dressayre at Saint-Gervasy could not have been better. The location was easy to find, parking was secure, and the rooms were clean, attractive, accessible, and comfortable. Breakfast, with homemade breads and preserves, among other things, were delicious. Equally important, Marianne was personable and her advice on local attractions added greatly to our enjoyment of the area. She is a great cook, and the evening that we had her prepare a meal for us was a highlight. We recommend this accommodation highly and without reservation. Jim and Cathy Hoy
We had a lovely stay in Saint-Gervasy because of the quaintness of the home and the perfect host. Slept like a log, lovely breakfast and with Mariannes help we got to see Uzes and the Carmarque
So for those passing through southern France , take time out and visit the less travelled places, Marianne will look after you.
