It was a lovely place to stay at. Everything was great - complimentary drinks, private beach with the reserved sunbeds, even the bus tickets were prepared. We were pleased from the first step in till check-out
My mother and I spent some wonderful days at Silvias beautiful apartment. The communication with Silvia was very friendly and she sent us useful informations. Her father Paolo gave us a warm welcome and goodbye and was very kind and helpful.
The apartment is as least as nice as in the pictures, very clean and has a fully equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the several possibilities to stay outside around the house. The best part is the access to the private beach with sunbeds and a beautiful view to the peninsula of portofino.
We can absolutely recommend to stay at Silvias apartment and already thinking of coming back someday :)
We had the most amazing time at Silvia's apartment. The photos just don't do justice to how stunning the view is. On the walk down to the beach, the air is scented with pines and flowers. The water was crystal clear and you could see straight to the bottom. In Italy, it's often times expensive to have a private space on the beach- and the fact that the apartment comes with an allotted space, with two chairs to relax- on the private dock was a huge convenience. The apartment itself is very spacious, with a big bathroom, sizable kitchen and open, airy rooms. Lastly, Silvia's parents were gems and made our time special. They kindly picked us up from the train station when they heard we had no car and heavy luggage. They gave us a ton of suggestions on where to go- we just wish we had enough time to visit every place! They made themselves very available so that we knew if anything were to go wrong- we could call them without a bother. Altogether one of the best experiences we had yet with AirBnB- highly recommend the apartment!
If you are looking for somewhere to relax, that is a great base from which to explore this beautiful area then look no further. From the moment we were welcomed so warmly by Silvia's parents, my daughter and I had a truly wonderful time.
The apartment is equipped with everything you could need. It is cool and comfortable with a great kitchen! We also loved the different levels and spaces outside to sit and read a book or sunbathe. There is traffic noise as the apartment is by the road at the top of the complex of which it is part, but the cicadas are so noisy and the view is so amazing that it didn't matter.
Make sure you find your way to the private beach down the breathtakingly beautiful paths - you won't be able to tear yourself away from the view.
We went swimming every day and my daughter made friends with the teenagers who come with their families each year from as far away as LA.
Eat the basil, the pesto and pasta, anything that involves foccacia and go on the bus to explore Genoa. And if Paolo (SIlvia's father) recommends anything take him up on it and you won't be disappointed!
Don't bother with a car - parking is an absolute nightmare - rely on the the brilliant public transport system instead.
You might find yourself not wanting to go anywhere when the sun shines though ...
Italy ist always worth a journey and we are very happy to have found Silvia's address on airbnb, We like to thank her for the the stay in the lovely appartement, so we could enjoy the friendliness of her parents, the shadowy terraasse down in the park above the sea, the wonderful places along the staircase to play guitar in the evening, swimming in the clear mediterranean sea. Sure, there are many other things to see in Liguria. We didn't see much of them this time, because we wanted to enjoy the location day by day. Thank you very much, Silvia!
Silvia's dad is a prince. British Airways lost our luggage and Paolo personally delivered it to us when it finally arrived in Liguria days later. Then I left my passport in the apartment! Paolo drove to Sori, retrieved it and took it to DHL and had it expressed to us at Lake Como. His help was invaluable in making our 5-day stay enjoyable.
Live Life Simply....
