The Space

Convenience and simplicity are the hallmarks of this property. Walk four blocks to the best coffee or pizza in Manzanita or a stone's throw to the beach. Want to send the kids to the park? It's a quick 3 minute walk, and you can even walk your clubs to the public golf course.

Welcoming with its openness, the mid-century modern look with a minimalist flare makes it easy to focus on what you came here for: To get away. To leave behind the distractions and slow down to the tempo of the pounding waves. From just sitting on the living room couch and looking out at the waves, to spending time down in the sand or down-time on the deck, this unassuming property is welcoming.

Sleeping 6, with 2 queen beds, one pull out sofa bed, it accommodates a medium family, 2 couples, or a gathering of friends. There is a bathroom with a tub, and a separate shower room (1 toilet only) for those that don't want to take baths. Amenities include: cable TV/DVD, Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, washer dryer, all linens, an outdoor fire pit, and more.

  • We had a wonderful time at the Sunset House. Prior to our stay communication was great and everything was expected when we arrived. The location is hard to top, and the view of the water from the living room is perfect.
The home is well appointed and our dog loved the big backyard and quick walk to the beach.
We look forward to staying here again when we're on the coast.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Sunset house in Manzanita.
We were there for Thanksgiving, and found everything we needed to whip up a delicious feast.
We also had two dogs, and the spacious fenced in yard was great! Not to mention the nearly beachfront access which allowed us to run down to the beach to wear them out when necessary.
I would highly recommend this as a place to stay when on the Oregon Coast.

  • A truly excellent place with plenty of room and a great view of the ocean. A literal hop-skip-and-jump to the sea. Beds were comfy, TV had my football game on and an easy few blocks to Manzanita's main street. The host was easy to get ahold of and made the stay just great.

  • We had a great stay at Sunset House! The house had everything we needed and was in very close proximity to the beach, the city park and town. Tracey was communicative and accommodating. Great experience, overall.

  • The Sunset House was the perfect place for my family. The house is well stocked, in a great location, and Tracey was quick to respond to our needs. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs, who thoroughly enjoyed the beach. Will definitely look at returning!

  • Hi The Sunset house is in a great location. You can see the ocean from the living room and back deck and it is just a half a block to the sand. There is 7 miles of beautiful beach to walk or run. It is a quick walk to the cozy town of Manzanita. The house was comfortable and clean.

Tracey was a great host. She quickly answered any questions I had.
This was my first experience with Airbnb and it was terrific. Can't wait foir my next trip :)

  • Loved the house! The location and view were perfect for our yearly 'girlfriend getaway' to the beach! Tracey was easy to work with and very generous in helping us find a house for the weekend. Have stayed at both Manzanita houses and love them both!

  • Great location- we could see the ocean!
House layout was odd with the shower back by the laundry, but everything worked well. The deck was nice.

  • Great house and great host. You can get a good view of the ocean from the living and then walk a half block to the beach. Also a very short walk to town and a playground. Would definitely stay here again.

Also worth mentioning -I made a dumb move and lost the keys to the house on the beach and the host dropped off a new set within 40 minutes. What could have been a vacation ruining moment turned into a non-issue because of the great host!

About
I am originally from Alaska, where I grew up on an island in SE Alaska, aka the famous Inside Passage. That is probably where I got my itch to travel. There are only two ways off an island, boat or plane. Luckily those long dark winters give you lots of time to think of other places to be. So now, I am trying to get to all the ones I can remember, places others have recommended, and have found a few more destinations to add to the list. I am now an Alaskan transplanted to the beautiful Oregon Coast for the past, wow 20+ years now. It reminds me of home, only with the benefits of cheaper airline tickets, and the ability to get in the car and drive more than 20 miles..on pavement too. I have lived in Nehalem, Or for the past 20 years and just love being on the Oregon coast. The Nehalem Bay area & N Oregon coast is an incredible place to live, for us lucky few, and to visit. There is great hiking, fishing, beach combing, restaurants, shopping, and tons more to do here all while having the stunning Pacific Ocean in the background. Loves to travel for new smells, sounds, food, people, and language. My favorite places include Palm Springs, Barbados, Vegas, and anywhere in France, Greece, or Spain. Dying to go to Brazil, Maldives, Morocco, Istanbul, Dubai and_________ (fill in the blank). "Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen."
