The space

A stylish retreat in the heart of Echo Park, one of Los Angeles' most creative, vibrant, and diverse neighborhoods.

The guest house is peaceful, private, and well-equipped, with a fully functional kitchen, a dining area, a full bath, a large living room, an office nook, a separate bedroom, and a washer/dryer outside. The spacious outdoor area, bordering a garden and shaded by eucalyptus and avocado trees, is for guests' exclusive use. The walkway leading to the apartment is lined with jasmine and bougainvillea.

A short walk to the cafes, music venues, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and bars of Sunset Boulevard & Echo Park Ave, and a half block to the 600 acres of eucalyptus groves and hiking trails of Elysian Park, our location is literally on the cusp of two worlds.

For fans of everything from mid-century design and architecture to 20's era noir fantasies, Echo Park is between Silver Lake & Downtown Los Angeles--minutes from both by car or bus. It's also close to Hollywood and all the boulevards & freeways that transport you to the iconographic LA sites--as well as beaches, mountains, and deserts.

The newly restored and revitalized Echo Park Lake is also just a short walk away.

The guest house is ideal for creative professionals seeking a contemplative base for work; visiting friends & family who live in and around Echo Park; tourists balancing sightseeing with an authentic LA experience; LA Dodgers fans (it's a short walk to Dodger Stadium); runners & hikers (Elysian Park has miles and miles of trails); and any visitor who seeks a tranquil space mere blocks from a vital urban center.

Quintero St is a quiet, hilly, one block street just north of Sunset Blvd & east of Echo Park Ave. We're located at the top of a steep hill.

The guest house has a private entrance and is adjacent to the main house, where I live with my husband and two children.

We can provide a pack n' play or a queen-sized air mattress for families traveling with children. Our maximum number of guests is two adults and two children.

There is one gated parking space available for a compact to mid-sized car. It's a tight squeeze for SUVs and larger vehicles, but there is ample street parking.

We provide all bed linens and towels.

Please send us an inquiry about availability before trying to book. Looking forward to hearing from you!

I had a lovely stay in Pamela and Jays guest house. The guest house itself is spacious and sitting outside watching the hummingbirds was one of my favourite things..I was on this trip primarily to work and you can't get a better base for this...I had great sleep and was able to focus on my work..Pamela is extremely accommodating and when i asked for some extra things for the kitchen (I was cooking a lot from home) she didn't hesitate in providing these...she always responds to texts very quickly but also respects your privacy...they are a lovely family and I wouldn't hesitate in staying here again...I also really liked Echo Park, the area seems very up and coming with some cute coffee shops (I highly recommend Blue Bottle coffee which is particularly good for laptop work) and Yogala, is a fantastic yoga studio 20 minute walk away...there is also a lovely organic supermarket very near called Lassens which has everything you need.

Lovely guest house- tall ceilings, quiet neighborhood. Nice view of trees out the window. Easy quick walk to hot spots in echo park and silver lake. 5 minutes from Downtown. Great attentive hosts who are real people and are very responsive to any questions or needs. Heat! A/C! Kitchen. Nice living room for guests. I stayed here for 2 months and enjoyed my time quite a bit. Would stay again. As a bonus there are also a lot of hummingbirds in the backyard...

Pamela, J and their incredibly sweet boys are the perfect hosts…there is good reason she is an Airbnb super-host! The guest house itself is lovely, true to description (profoundly grateful for the designated/gated parking) and the location is ideal…though what sets this Airbnb home apart is Pamela and her beautiful family! Pamela was attentive, always reachable and a most delightful neighbor - I enjoyed our chats immensely and my kids adored her little boys! For two months, this was truly our home away from home - thank you Pamela! A few highlights: *Fourth of July - Hilltop view a few steps away/Dodger’s Stadium Fireworks! *Elysian Park - LATA Summer Theater Camp. *Elysian Park Trails up the block - great morning runs and the kids used their metal detector (fantastic treasures) everywhere! *Lassen’s Organic Market. *Celaya Panaderia (across from Lassen's). *Echo Park - Mexican style Corn from incredibly nice vendors! *Kids & Family Meditation Class on Sundays - Kadampa Meditation Center (Nice folks!). *Novak Hair Salon - Jamie gave my daughter the BEST little girl bob haircut ever! Walking distance too! *Masa Pizza - kid’s favorite spot! *Fig Tree in the back yard, yum!

This place is heavenly, and I am looking forward to coming back! All the furniture is both stylish and comfortable, and most days, the loudest sound was the birds outside. I work at home, and this place was the perfect retreat for getting work done. There are three tables to choose from (kitchen table, desk, and round table in the living room), and the huge windows offer a view of treetops and the sky over downtown. I also loved being able to walk to everything (albeit down and back up a VERY steep hill), from an organic supermarket to Walgreens to a bookstore to the best tacos in LA (Guisado's). Pam is a wonderful host - warm and welcoming and incredibly responsive. I had all the privacy I wanted but knew that if I had any questions, Pam would get back to me right away. I could not have asked for anything more from a host!

This was probably our best experience ever on AirBnB. Pamela and Jay are hands down the most gracious, attentive and thoughtful hosts we've encountered. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. When the next door neighbor's roof was suddenly undergoing repairs, Pamela immediately brought over an air filtration device to purify any added dust. Jay was quick to respond to a lighting issue in the kitchen. The guest house was even more spacious than depicted, the Echo Park setting extremely relaxed. I would have no hesitation recommending their place to family or friends.

Pamela's guest house couldn't have been more perfect for our stay in Los Angeles. My boyfriend and I are both living in NYC and not used to big, bright, spacious homes with high ceilings, having a convenient washer and dryer in the garden, personal parking space and more. Pamela was sweet, responsive and had a useful binder prepared with food recommendations in the area (all of her starred restaurants were amazing) and general guidelines for our stay. It was a bit chilly right after the new year but the living room heater and space heater for the bedroom did the trick. I enjoyed bundling up and reading outside in the backyard in the mornings. If you're having trouble deciding on a neighborhood, Echo Park is great- like the Brooklyn of LA! Right off of Sunset Blvd, it never took that long to get anywhere by car and there are tons of awesome taco places and brunch spots nearby. I would definitely recommend staying here!

A welcoming and spacious guest house in the Echo Park neighborhood. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils, which makes it easy to prepare meals there. Host's commitment to recycling includes reuse of water from washing machine in garden. Heating system functioned well when the weather turned cold. The furniture is pretty, and the windows let in a plentiful amount of light during the daytime.
