The Space

A stylish retreat in the heart of Echo Park, one of Los Angeles' most creative, vibrant, and diverse neighborhoods.

The guest house is peaceful, private, and well-equipped, with a fully functional kitchen, a dining area, a full bath, a large living room, a separate bedroom, and a washer/dryer outside. The spacious outdoor area, bordering a garden and shaded by eucalyptus and avocado trees, is for guests' exclusive use. The walkway leading to the apartment is lined with jasmine and bougainvillea.

A short walk to the cafes, music venues, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and bars of Sunset Boulevard & Echo Park Ave, and a half block to the 600 acres of eucalyptus groves and hiking trails of Elysian Park, our location is literally on the cusp of two worlds.

For fans of everything from mid-century design and architecture to 20's era noir fantasies, Echo Park is between Silver Lake & Downtown Los Angeles--minutes from both by car or bus. It's also close to Hollywood and all the boulevards & freeways that transport you to the iconographic LA sites--as well as beaches, mountains, and deserts.

The newly restored and revitalized Echo Park Lake is also just a short walk away.

The guest house is ideal for creative professionals seeking a contemplative base for work; visiting friends & family who live in and around Echo Park; tourists balancing sightseeing with an authentic LA experience; LA Dodgers fans (it's a short walk to Dodger Stadium); runners & hikers (Elysian Park has miles and miles of trails); and any visitor who seeks a tranquil space mere blocks from a vital urban center.

Quintero St is a quiet, hilly, one block street just north of Sunset Blvd & east of Echo Park Ave. We're located at the top of the hill.

The guest house has a private entrance and is adjacent to the main house, where I live with my husband and two children.

We can provide a pack n' play or a queen-sized air mattress for families traveling with children. Our maximum number of guests is two adults and two children, and there is no additional charge for children.

We will occasionally consider groups of three or four adults, but there will be an additional charge of $10 per night.

There is one gated parking space available for a compact to mid-sized car. It's a tight squeeze for SUVs and larger vehicles, but there is ample street parking.

We provide all bed linens and towels.

Please send us an inquiry about availability before trying to book. Looking forward to hearing from you!

  • We had a pleasant stay at Pamela's guest house in Echo Park. The location was perfect - it's on a quiet side street off the main road where some Echo Park restaurants and bars are located, a few minutes drive to downtown LA (where we had amazing Japanese Ramen in Little Tokyo), and a quick drive to Silver Lake area with more options of restaurants, bars, and a fully stocked bookstore.

Pamela was a great host during our stay. She left a guest book filled with fantastic recommendations of local places to check out. The guest house has high ceilings and plenty of space for 2 people. It is very comfortable and is how the photos on Airbnb showed - pleasant with modern decor and sun filled living room.

We would recommend the guest house for people who wants to check out Echo Park and Silver Lake.

  • This was our first time using Airbnb and I must admit that Pamela made it easy and straightforward. Pamela made us very welcome and had a really useful folder of information not only on the house but the local area.
The space was great. We had a lot of room even with our 2 girls (12 & 15). Kitchen was stocked with basics for cooking which we availed ourselves of. We felt secure in the area and were given our own privacy.
This is very reasonable price for good space in LA. Would not have a problem recommending.

  • Pam's guest house is private, minimal and exactly what my family needed in their 11 nights of stay. I arranged lodging at Pam's for my gram/parents from Seoul and they truly enjoyed the privacy, quietness and the view of LA. The process of checking in and out is straightforward and easy. My grandmother loved chatting with me in the breezy living room where she often dozed off peacefully after series of family events. My father enjoyed sitting in the backyard observing the vegetable garden and drying seeds. All the boys in the family took turns making meals each night for my parents/gram. We had a memorable family time at Pam's and definitely will contact her again.

  • We had a very good time! It was as if we 'owned' a (complete) house in L.A....

Also present, a.o.t., were almost fifty descriptions of L.A.-WALKS.
And - take also buses, around the corner, f.e. bus 204 (?), bus drives you all along Sunset Boulevard as far as the Pacific. (day-pass 6 dollars).

    In a hurry, I&R

  • We had a wonderful stay in this guest house, for over 4 months. First of all, in many ways, it's even nicer than in the pictures. It is very spacious, with a large living and dining area and a very large bedroom, all stylishly decorated. The kitchen is well equipped, we had everything we needed to cook. The garden is a really nice area, with lots of shade, trees, squirrels and hummingbirds. It's also very quiet, in a tranquil street with hardly any cars passing by at night.
Second, Pam and J. are perfect hosts, very helpful yet also discreet - so after settling in you feel like you're at home, really.
Third, the location is ideal: walking distance to Echo Park, which has great bars and restaurants, plus a lovely lake as well as a large park. It's also near Silver Lake (very hip) and downtown, and a short drive to Griffith Park, Hollywood and beyond.
In short: greatly recommended, not only for short stays but also for longer stays!

  • This cozy flat was extremely well located--just a stone's throw from all the Echo Park hot spots. And although just a block away from Sunset Blvd, the location was extremely quiet and peaceful. We particularly appreciated the secluded backyard area where we had our morning coffee!

It's hard to find a place like this in LA that is both quiet, and *also* within easy walking distance of interesting restaurants and bars. Seriously, who would've thought you could get away with not driving in LA! There were lots of great bars (Shortstop, El Prado), great restaurants (Mohawk Bend, Guisados, Sage), awesome taco trucks (El Flamin, Arizas), and nice parks (Echo Park Lake, Elysian Park) all within a ~15min walk (or even less)!

And last but not least, Pamela was a gracious and helpful hostess! Her home as well as her family were lovely.

  • A nice little spot right off the sunset blvd. There's an extra parking space on their driveway, but if you are renting i'd recommend going compact. The living room has a high ceiling and the place was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was stocked with basics and I was able to whip up a nice homestyle meal. There's a cheap asian grocery just two blocks A Grocery Warehouse. They had a selection of whole bean coffee to choose from in their cabinets and a french press or electric drip coffee maker. A great touch! When I got thirsty they had a brita water pitcher in the fridge. For those unfamiliar with the area, they've arranged a nice little binder recommending local restaurants to try in the area. The space is well thought out and I'd be happy to stay there again.

  • Pamela's guest house was my first stay at an airbnb property. The booking was quite easy. Pamela's instructions were clear and helpful. The property itself was as described on the website. Check-in and out couldn't have been simpler. The guest house living room faces the backyard, which was always quiet and pretty during the three days I was there; a welcome change from LA's car-dominated landscape for a small town guy like me. Restaurants and small groceries are an easy walk along Sunset Blvd at the foot of the hill.
