Come and enjoy San Diego's gorgeous year-round weather in one of San Diego's best neighborhoods! Cozy 1920's cottage located minutes from downtown and the best of San Diego's sights.
Nestled in the heart of historic South Park my easy-going home has a big private backyard with lots of nooks and crannies to relax and sunbathe in a garden setting. French doors open off of the bedroom to a deck overlooking the yard and canyon view. Iconic bars and great restaurants are within easy walking distance.
The world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Gaslamp Quarter, Embarcadero, Maritime Museum, and Old Town are all nearly next door. Or drive 15 minutes to the best beach in San Diego next door to the Hotel Del Coronado. My South Park neighborhood is full of gorgeous historic Craftsman homes and is a great place to walk.
Enjoy golfing at the Balboa Golf Course, French Fusion food at Vagabond Cafe, or grab a local micro-brew at Hamilton's Pub. Nearby Grant's Market offers a fabulous selection of gourmet foods, wine, coffee and a full deli. A full service grocery store is also within easy walking distance. Safe neighborhood, nice and quiet at night, and the proximity to the ocean keeps both daytime and nighttime temperatures comfortable.

This is a very tidy, very clean, very cozy cottage. It is conveniently located for exploring the city. There are nice, funky neighborhood restaurants (The Big Kitchen is not to be missed for breakfast) in easy walking distance. My wife and I would gladly return to Amy's place whenever we're in San Diego.
We stayed at Amy's place over labor day weekend. Amy was an excellent host and took care of every detail to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Her place was clean, cozy, and inviting. The front and back yards were perfect for letting our little puppy run around. I would definitely recommend her place to others!
Just book it, you won't be sorry! Coming with kids? Lots of room, well equipped kitchen, three markets within a few blocks. Need a base to explore San Diego? Close to freeways, good parking and public trans. Want a fun neighborhood? EVERYTHING is within a few blocks, cute shops, great restaurants, excellent people watching. Nightlife? Yep, its here. Just want to get away? Peaceful, lovely home away from home. Would you like the best hostess ever? That would be Amy, you will not meet a kinder, more thoughtful, lovelier person. So go ahead, just book it!

Amy's house is very cute, and in a neighborhood that we enjoyed exploring. She left a folder of menus, maps, recommendations, and clippings that helped guide our wanderings and dining. Her back yard looks over a small canyon. I took a nap in a hammock under an arbor of jasmine. Hummingbirds were prolific! Amy set out an airbed for my son, complete with a teddy bear. Amy was friendly and helpful.
Amy's house is located on a quiet street in a great neighborhood. There are plenty of quaint restaurants, coffee shops and bars, all within walking distance. Amy was very responsive and we didn't have any issues. She left us coffee which we took full advantage of (I love the French Press). For last minute shopping, there's a grocery store right around the corner with homemade salsa and a deli. We especially enjoyed drinking coffee on her deck overlooking the beautiful garden. I heard so many birds in the morning - if was like being in an aviary. We had a rental car and easily found parking on the street. The golf course in the Balboa Park is only a couple blocks away but if you want to see the main attractions, it'll be a long walk (the park is huge). Better to drive there (free parking), or take a bus. Coronado is a great beach for families and swimming, and is only minutes away.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Amy's little cottage in South Park. The garden is as beautiful as it looks and the neighborhood fun to explore, especially with the local history book that Amy has. The information she left out was very helpful.
The only drawback was that the landing pattern for the one runway at the San Diego airport was over the neighborhood and proved a distraction from this otherwise peaceful and quiet spot.
Currently working as a personal trainer. I have lived in San Diego for many years and am a great resource for fun places to go, including those hidden gems that are not frequented by crowds. I'm also into gardening and have created a rather nice one around my home. I love the idea of sharing this great space with others interested in relaxing and enjoying doing nothing in particular.
I'm happy to give tours around town and beyond. If you are interested, drop me a line.
