Period terraced house in quiet area

House - Private room · Park View Ave, Dublin, County Dublin Dublin 6, Ireland

The Space

A tastefully furnished period house (built around 1900), in a quiet cul-de-sac, two miles from the city centre.

There are two bedrooms available, each suitable for one or two people. Groups of four can be accommodated - there is a listing for each of the rooms - similar photographs - and groups of four can be accommodated by booking both listings. Each room has a king size bed- which is exceptionally comfortable. The rooms are spacious and very calm - ideal for relaxation and rest. All the furniture is period, but the room has a nice modern feel to it. They've both got lovely linens, and plenty of fresh towels.

Two bus routes serve the main road, which is just around the corner from the house - the 16 bus from Dublin Airport (the journey takes about 50 minutes) is one of the routes. and the same bus runs only 10 minutes to the City Centre.

The City Centre (Grafton Street - Trinity College) is a 20min to a half hour walk from the house. Historic Dublin - St. Patrick's Cathedral, Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Chester Beatty Library, National Gallery, are all within easy reach - either by bus route or walking.

I am involved with the Dublin International Piano Competition - an event that takes place every three years - so I'm deeply involved in offering stellar hospitality to international travellers and how to showcase the best that Dublin has to offer. I'm very aware of the standard and level of the comfort that people need while they're staying.

I offer breakfast - muesli, yoghurt, fresh homemade Irish brown bread, croissants, tea and coffee.

The sheltered sunny garden is a calm and restful place to have breakfast on a warm morning. One of the bedrooms looks over the garden.

I also have an information pack on Dublin, including map, city guide and information on day trips to Glendalough, Galway and the Cliffs of Moher, Cork, and Belfast.

I am delighted to help any guests to plan their days in Dublin, and if they are travelling to the rest of Ireland, I can also offer advice and assistance.

  • This house was absolutely fantastic, very charming, clean, and in a great location. The breakfast we had was really amazing, homemade yogurt and granola was an excellent way to start our days in Dublin. The only thing that I'd point out is that the bed size isn't really as big as a king-size bed, and it made sharing with a tall person a bit of a challenge. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend!

  • Adrienne was a great host. She went out of her way to pick us up from the bus station. Once we got to the house, she gave us very thorough details about the house and some great recommendations for things to do in Dublin. The breakfast was also terrific: amazing homemade yogurt, jam and Irish bread. A lovely stay!

  • We absolutely LOVED Adrienne! She met us at her home, helped us get settled in and spent over hour telling us all about Dublin and some of the other areas we were going to see. She told us all about the bus and train systems and how to get around, suggested places to see, shop, and eat. She also told us various hotels we could stay in while we were in Galway and Cork. I don't know what we would have done without her! Her home was lovely, and she had fresh bread and breakfast foods for us during our stay. She also had an information booklet made up for when guests stay to help them get acclimated as well as maps. She also had a great TAXI contact to and from the airport -- he was awesome as well! Adrienne made our trip so much easier and less stressful... I don't know what we would have done without all her excellent recommendations. I would definitely stay with her again!!

  • Adrienne was a fantastic host. The house is very beautiful and decorated quite well as well. I had an extremely comfortable stay during my time here. Adrienne was also extremely generous and helpful throughout my stay. She even allowed me to stay an extra 2 weeks while I was waiting to move into my new apartment in Dublin. She knows a lot about the city of Dublin and is very good about providing advice if you are new to the city. She also provided delicious homemade bread, jam, and yogurt. She really did everything within her power to make sure that I was settled, and I really can't thank her enough for it.

  • We had a lovely time here for our pre-Christmas weekend in Dublin. We used to live in the city so were familiar with the general area, but not the lovely, quiet road where Adrienne lives. It's a beautiful house, with really comfortable beds and close to pretty much everything. Our kids also enjoyed it, even if we had to work overtime to stop them from going after bits of furniture etc they shouldn't have been fiddling with! Adrienne was very nice, tolerant, and couldn't have been more helpful. I can't recommend staying here enough.

I am a native of Dublin, with a good knowlege of the city. I live in a great area, very near town. I am involved in many areas of life. I am used to interacting with people and love to host visitors. I have travelled extensively in France and Australia, as well as many other European countries. I travel regularly to New York and London. I have a great interest in current affairs, music, and the theatre. I am also involved in a number of committees where I meet people from diverse walks of life. I am on the Executive of the Dublin International Piano Competition, which takes place every three years. Young pianists from all over the world come to Dublin to compete in the Competition, and I work closely with the competitors during the two weeks of the Competition.
