The Yosemite Cabin is a one-of-a-kind home, located a short drive from the Yosemite Valley floor. Built in the 70s and fully remodeled in 2019, this is the only home with such an elevated look and feel in the Park. Designed with luxe materials and furnished with modern and mid-century pieces, the Cabin sleeps 6-8. The interior is open-plan and expansive. A wrap-around deck shows off beautiful views. Bedrooms are cozy and fitted with premium linens.

The space
Remodeled in 2019, the Yosemite Cabin is the only cabin with this unique elevated look and feel in Yosemite National Park. The grand room boasts 20'+ lofted ceilings, white oak floors, a cozy reading nook and a large Restoration Hardware sectional couch for relaxing. The kitchen table graciously holds 10+ individuals for dinner parties and social gatherings.

The views from The Yosemite Cabin are some of the best in Yosemite West. A wrap-around deck provides a great location to take in the surroundings, enjoy early-morning coffees and meals with friends and family. The inside of the home is open-plan and expansive.

The kitchen was updated in 2019 and is fully stocked with all kitchen essentials including high-end All Clad pots and pans, Crate & Barrel table wear, SMEG countertop appliances, a gas-burning range and stove, apron-front kitchen sink and high-end linens. The countertops are a beautiful white quartz and the cabinets are painted with Farrow & Ball's Studio Green (dark green).

All bedrooms and bathrooms are located downstairs; because of this the Yosemite Cabin is not wheel-chair friendly.

There are no other lodgings quite like this in Yosemite; the interiors are thoughtful, elevated, beautiful, well-curated with a mix of modern and vintage decor. Decor ranges from 100+ year old Persian rugs, to plein-air oil paintings by California artists, to a 200-year-old Moroccan wedding table, to new furnishings and fixtures from Rejuvination, Article and Restoration Hardware. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

Notes about staying in an older home in Yosemite: Biggest thing to note is, while the house is recently remodeled and styled beautifully, you're still in the remote mountains! It can take a while to warm up in winter (even though we have new heating units), the units can be tricky to operate the first time and there's the occasional critter (bugs, spiders, mice) that make their way into the house, despite our best efforts to keep them out. We love our space, and want you to as well, but also want to be upfront that it's true mountain living and not like staying at a Ritz Carlton. ;)

Where you’ll be

Yosemite National Park, California, United States

Yosemite West is a small community located within the Yosemite National Park boundaries. The Yosemite Cabin is located in a quiet cul-de-sac that's populated by full-time residents. Because of this, we ask that you're extra polite to our kind neighbors!

When staying in Yosemite West, you are a brief 20-minute drive from the Valley floor where you will find all of Yosemite’s scenic landmarks. There are 173 homes in Yosemite West, though it feels MUCH smaller. Some of the homes are owned by permanent residents of The West and others are rented to vacationers.

Yosemite West is rich in local history and animal life. Before the community of Yosemite West was built, Indian tribes used Yosemite West as their camp ground and hunting area. Even today, one can occasionally uncover an obsidian chip that was once used as arrowheads by local hunters. In addition to being home to many humans, the West is also home to many native species including mountain lions, black bears (please do not leave ANY trash outside), ringtail cats, bobcats, wild turkeys and curious ravens.

Perhaps most importantly, Yosemite West is deeply loved by its residents and homeowners. When visiting, keep in mind that noise travels far amongst the trees and the community prefers quiet after 10pm. The community is also deeply concerned about wildfire hazards; we just barely escaped complete destruction in the summer of 2018. You’ll notice burnt trees about 75-feet off the deck - this is where the firefighters began their back-burn to save our community. Please don’t smoke while visiting the Yosemite Cabin and take extra care when using the outdoor BBQ. No fires are permitted.
