The Bay of Paracas is sunny about 90% of the days in the year due to it´s microclimate. The desert meets the ocean in this majestic region of Peru, a paradise for sailing sports and photography. Sailing conditions are great throughout the year, with thermal winds ranging from 14-30knots about 95% of the days between August and early May.
The beach in front of the villa hosts a wide variety seabirds, such as egrets, pelicans, sandpipers, oyster catchers, zarcillos, kildeers, Peruvian gulls... including flamingos. The flamingos are seasonal in front of the villa. Due to recent real estate development, we have been working with the national forest agency (Sernanp) and the Capitania de Puerto de Pisco (Navy) to educate in the preservation of their habitat.
Also, the bay hosts colonies of dolphins and sea turtles, and is one of the world's larger scallop farming sites. A morning walk will connect you with nature.
Moving around is via public transportation, taxi cab or walking. A taxi cab can pick you from the villa to go into town (about 3km distance) or take tours. When staying three or more nights, you may find more convenient renting a car, to fully explore the natural reserve beaches, restaurants and area in general.
Places you can visit while in Paracas include:
- The Reserva Nacional de Paracas (3 minutes away), including the archaeology and natural museums
- Dune buggy sandboarding tours
- The Ballestas Islands (a 2 hour boat tour)
- The Nazca lines (from Pisco airport at 15 minutes away)
- Some of the pisco wineyards (45 minutes away)

- San Gallán island for pro-surfing among sea lions
- Other hidden spots...

Jorge received my girlfriend & I last minute New Year's day & made the reservation process easy. Upon arriving, they were very accommodating & recommended places in the area to visit. Fred even helped us set up a grill for us to have our own little BBQ. Continental breakfast was provided each morning under a peaceful patio.
Over the following couple of days during our stay I got to know Jorge more. He's a very genuine person & very passionate about kite surfing & creating an environment there at the Villa Kite that is tranquil, enjoyable, & more importantly rememberable. I would hands down recommend staying with them over any of the "fancy hotels", as it was the personal feel & experience that will help remind me of our wonderful trip to Paracas, Perú. Thank you Jorge, we will be back again...
Villa Kite is located right beside the bay with good scenery and comfortable/clean room. We stayed there for three days during busy Easter weekend to avoid the crowd in hotels. This also means that Villa Kite is a bit distanced from the central Paracas but closer to the reserve. I especially recommend to those who love nature and plan to drive here with friends and family.
Jorge is very friendly and called to provide us information about transportation and tour even before our departure. However, I think he is a bit confused with the nationalities of my boyfriend and me because he told other guests that we are from Thailand and Malaysia while we are actually from Taiwan and Indonesia (but I guess it's close enough. hahaha)
The delivery of simple breakfast is very punctual and I particularly enjoy the shower in Villa Kite after a sand boarding day in Huacachina! Don't forget to prepare your own hygiene products (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) as well as hairdryer if you need one.
Increíble experiencia en Paracas. Fuimos por 3 días, unas piezas amplias con una vista increíble y muy cerca del parque nacional Paracas y de todos los hoteles. Lo recomiendo completamente..!!!
We stayed at Villa Kite over New Year's Eve, and we had a wonderfully relaxing and fun time with Jorge, Fabiola and the dogs. The suites are situated very close to the nature reserve, so it's convenient to visit the beautiful beaches and scenic look out points. Jorge was incredibly helpful in planning our daily itineraries to see a pisco/winery near the town of Pisco, a flight over the Nazca lines, and what to see in the nature reserve. He and Fabiola welcomed us into the BBQ they had for NYE with their friends, and it was a very memorable experience making new friends while counting down the clock to 2013. The view from the 2nd story room where we stayed is great. We would come home after our day trips to the balcony for reading and a glass of wine while enjoying the view. Highly recommended!
It was wonderful staying with Jorge at Villa Kite. A perfect alternative to staying in a large hotel. Jorge spent lots of time showing us the unique aspects of Paracas. For a small fee, we took a day trip to the natural reserve where he guided us through the amazing landscape. He was also always there with a gracious offer to take us into town to grab something great to eat. Jorge was very friendly and beyond helpful during our stay and I would recommend Villa Kite to anyone interested in kite surfing, the natural environment, and someone avoiding a large hotel experience (you can still access the nearby Double Tree for breakfast). Thanks Jorge and Duma!
