I'm a performance artist, comedian and writer located near the best food, nightlife and spas in K-town. I am also convenient to Downtown Los Angeles. My room features an adjustable Tempurpedic bed that massages! The private bathroom is attached!
This tempurpedic bed adjusts and massages! That means you can sit up and read in bed!
Welcome to my creative sanctuary in the middle of urban LA! My lovely condominium is convenient to the Line Hotel, Korean BBQ, nightclubs, spas, bars, and shopping. It's also a nice walk to the Purple Line subway system and a short drive (or bus ride) to LA Live and Downtown LA. Many people who have stayed here came without a car to go to events in Downtown including the LA Convention Center and Staples Center which is one 10 minute bus ride away.
I am offering a simple, clean, bedroom with cathedral ceilings and private bathroom. I bought this place in March 2010 and am proud of it! There's funky art I've made and collected (from all over the world) all over the house! My bed is a new Tempurpedic adjustable bed which massages and sits upright! There's also a desk!
Because this room is my bedroom, I will sleep in my loft upstairs. I pretty much have not slept in this room in the last two years and it's become my Airbnb room. This is not a hassle for me, and in no way does it make me feel "dislocated"-- just want guests to know this in advance. I also work upstairs in the loft in the day as I work from home. It's a very quiet unit in a very quiet building.
There is a sweet cat named Octavia who is a foster cat. She would love you to pet her.
This neighborhood is perfect for those traveling without a car as it's convenient to major boulevards and public transportation. I am 6 blocks from the Purple line which takes you to Downtown LA. You can also transfer to the Red Line from the Purple line and go to Hollywood and Universal Studios. The 28 bus stop is two blocks away. It takes you to Downtown LA heading East, but if you take it headed West, you can go to Beverly Hills, Little Ethiopia and Century City Mall. You can walk 6 blocks to the Wilshire bus and take a bus that takes you to the beach! In fact, I live here without a car and aside from some long bus rides, have been able to make it work fine!
I have lived in Los Angeles for 14 years and am happy to recommend all sorts of hotspots that only the locals know! Especially if you are a fan of performance and art. I also have the password to the nearby "R Bar" which is in walking distance.
This is a two bedroom loft. Right now the other bedroom is occupied by my roommate Edward. He's an actor and gone a lot rehearsing or shooting. You may or may not run into him! He's a nice guy regardless!
You also have full access to my kitchen, wireless internet, and FREE laundry and dryer. Make yourself at home in the living room. Pull a book from my shelf and read before bedtime!
Gated parking is also available free with the rental price please let me know ahead of time that you will use it so I can coordinate getting you the clicker. No car? I also offer my bike FREE for borrowing if you'd like to get around that way!
Each additional person is an additional $20/night. I can bring an airbed queen mattress and linens in for a 3rd guest (though it doesn't leave much floor room in that bedroom!). I can do one night rentals but please add a $20 cleaning fee.
Washer and Dryer.
Private vanity and bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
If I'm in town, you'll see me during the day. I'm happy to tell you places to go, but I also let my guests have time alone if that's what they want from their trip. Just look at me as your friend in LA. I also can text you tips if I am on the road.
FOOD! Spas! Hidden nightlife! The proximity to Downtown and public transport! This neighborhood is truly an undiscovered gem in LA. It's very central and getting anywhere else isn't so hard.
The subway is in walking distance. I am also right off Olympic Blvd. The 28/728 will take you to Downtown or Century City. Wilshire Blvd and the 20/720 takes you to the rest of LA. Hollywood is just North of here.
Other Things to Note
After receiving some feedback from guests, I'm happy to report that I am stocking the room with BRAND NEW towels and sheets! I will also have water and welcome refreshments on the bed upon your arrival!
This is a loft so the ceilings are high. It feels really spacious for that reason.
Please no additional unpaid overnight guests.
No smoking inside this building.
No drugs, no weapons.
No shoes inside the house!
Please lock the doors when you leave and when you get home.
Please clean up after yourself.
Kristina's place and her hosting were second to none. The apartment itself is well located, a short walk from public transport and close to lots of interesting food and drink options. The room is well equipped, spacious and very comfortable. Kristina as host was amazing, provided great advice on things to do in the local area and wider afield, and was so kind as to show me around on a day where she was running around all over the city. I would recommend to anyone to stay at Kristina's and when I return to LA I will be checking availability before looking anywhere else. Thank you again.
My stay with Kristina was EXCELLENT. She had extra towels, extra blankets, a really lovely and spacious room, and it was all so comfortable and clean we didn't want to leave. She was so kind and accommodating, she was friendly but let us do our own thing. The location could not be better (we had a car) and everything was so close by. Kristina has an awesome mini guide to the area and places to go or to eat if you are feeling a little lost. Lots of maps and magazines about LA. Apparently, there is a cat in the house but we never saw or heard it. 10/10 would stay here again!
The neighbourhood was quiet and in a good location. Total bonus having the parking space in LA. Bedroom was nice with tall ceilings and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was dirty on the first night due to a change in housekeeper but Kristina was very gracious and cleaned it and made breakfast the next morning to make up for it :)
The kitty is cute, my BF has allergies/asthma but did not have too much problem during our stay.
HI Rachel! It was so much fun having you and David and finding out we actually were more connected that we realized. I am now hiring a local housekeeper (an actual professional) to clean the room between guests when I'm out of town (instead of asking neighbor dude) and I look forward to having you again! Thanks again for your patience with that situation. I'll cook your breakfast no matter what next time!
I did not met Kristina during my stay, but every place of the house are telling me who she is. There are a lot of posters on the wall of the house, and you could feel every of them has story behind it. This is a very quiet place to live, and what is the most awesome thing, there are so many good restaurants around you in walk distance. This place is only 17 minutes drive from Hollywood and only cost you around $10 if u use Uber for your ride.
I am very lucky to meet the cat everyday, she is so cute and a little bit shy.
This is the place i will definitely choose when I back to LA.
Kristina's place is great! Centrally located, spacious, and the bed is SO COMFORTABLE. Best night's sleep I've had in a while.
This place is pretty awesome, located in K-town, a super diverse neighborhood with nice folks and good eats. The loft is bigger than I thought, it's on the third floor so it was really quiet, and the room I stayed in has its own washroom. (Only shower though). I barely saw the cat but when I did she was the cutest. I never met Kristina but she was really communicative via messaging. The location is 10 minutes walking to the closest train station (Normandie) so that's awesome for non-car people like me but it was like $60-70 from LAX via Taxi. I would suggest using the Flyaway express bus for folks who have time and no car. Overall --- I would stay in this place again! Good price and good place!

I am a performer and writer who tours the country when I'm not working in Los Angeles. I love meeting new people from around the world and am happy to make Koreatown my home.
