About This Listing
I'm a performance artist, comedian and writer located near the best food, nightlife and spas in K-town. I am also convenient to Downtown Los Angeles. My room features an adjustable Tempurpedic bed that massages! The private bathroom is attached!
This tempurpedic bed adjusts and massages! That means you can sit up and read in bed!
Welcome to my creative sanctuary in the middle of urban LA! My lovely condominium is convenient to the Line Hotel, Korean BBQ, nightclubs, spas, bars, and shopping. It's also a nice walk to the Purple Line subway system and a short drive (or bus ride) to LA Live and Downtown LA. Many people who have stayed here came without a car to go to events in Downtown including the LA Convention Center and Staples Center which is one 10 minute bus ride away.
I am offering a simple, clean, bedroom with cathedral ceilings and private bathroom. I bought this place in March 2010 and am proud of it! There's funky art I've made and collected (from all over the world) all over the house! My bed is a new Tempurpedic adjustable bed which massages and sits upright! There's also a desk!
Because this room is my bedroom, I will sleep in my loft upstairs. I pretty much have not slept in this room in the last two years and it's become my Airbnb room. This is not a hassle for me, and in no way does it make me feel "dislocated"-- just want guests to know this in advance. I also work upstairs in the loft in the day as I work from home. It's a very quiet unit in a very quiet building.
There is a sweet cat named Octavia who is a foster cat. She would love you to pet her.
This neighborhood is perfect for those traveling without a car as it's convenient to major boulevards and public transportation. I am 6 blocks from the Purple line which takes you to Downtown LA. You can also transfer to the Red Line from the Purple line and go to Hollywood and Universal Studios. The 28 bus stop is two blocks away. It takes you to Downtown LA heading East, but if you take it headed West, you can go to Beverly Hills, Little Ethiopia and Century City Mall. You can walk 6 blocks to the Wilshire bus and take a bus that takes you to the beach! In fact, I live here without a car and aside from some long bus rides, have been able to make it work fine!
I have lived in Los Angeles for 14 years and am happy to recommend all sorts of hotspots that only the locals know! Especially if you are a fan of performance and art. I also have the password to the nearby "R Bar" which is in walking distance.
This is a two bedroom loft. Right now the other bedroom is occupied by my roommate Edward. He's an actor and gone a lot rehearsing or shooting. You may or may not run into him! He's a nice guy regardless!
You also have full access to my kitchen, wireless internet, and FREE laundry and dryer. Make yourself at home in the living room. Pull a book from my shelf and read before bedtime!
Gated parking is also available free with the rental price please let me know ahead of time that you will use it so I can coordinate getting you the clicker. No car? I also offer my bike FREE for borrowing if you'd like to get around that way!
Each additional person is an additional $20/night. I can bring an airbed queen mattress and linens in for a 3rd guest (though it doesn't leave much floor room in that bedroom!). I can do one night rentals but please add a $20 cleaning fee.
Washer and Dryer.
Private vanity and bathroom.
Interaction with Guests
If I'm in town, you'll see me during the day. I'm happy to tell you places to go, but I also let my guests have time alone if that's what they want from their trip. Just look at me as your friend in LA. I also can text you tips if I am on the road.
FOOD! Spas! Hidden nightlife! The proximity to Downtown and public transport! This neighborhood is truly an undiscovered gem in LA. It's very central and getting anywhere else isn't so hard.
The subway is in walking distance. I am also right off Olympic Blvd. The 28/728 will take you to Downtown or Century City. Wilshire Blvd and the 20/720 takes you to the rest of LA. Hollywood is just North of here.
Other Things to Note
After receiving some feedback from guests, I'm happy to report that I am stocking the room with BRAND NEW towels and sheets! I will also have water and welcome refreshments on the bed upon your arrival!
This is a loft so the ceilings are high. It feels really spacious for that reason.
RACY ART ALERT: For guests with more conservative tastes, please note there are pin-up photos and one drawing of a naked woman and one drawing of a naked baby in the house. There is also an "F bomb" on one poster in the bathroom which is a poster signed by Heidi Fleiss (very funny story goes with this). This poster has not had fans in some of my guests. If you think this art will be an issue, let me know. I can't remove all the pieces but can make modifications to the Heidi Fleiss piece.
BUDDHIST SHRINE: I have a small Buddhist altar in the entryway. If this is an issue, please note I cannot remove this.
Please no additional unpaid overnight guests.
No smoking inside this building.
No drugs, no weapons.
No shoes inside the house!
Please lock the doors when you leave and when you get home.
Please clean up after yourself.
Room was big! We had 4 luggages and 4 carry ons and still had space to walk around. Place was clean and conveniently located near some korean eateries. Kristina was friendly even though she was busy working.
Kristina was an excellent host and the room was wonderful. Exactly as described: clean, spacious, and comfortable - witha an awesome funky vibe. Kristina is super responsive, friendly, and made the experience a great one. Plus, her cat (Octavia) is adorable.
We had a great stay with Kristina! She's very welcoming and friendly and helpful, and it was always easy to get in touch with her. Her place is comfortable and nice, with lots of art. The Koreatown location is very convenient, near several bus lines and restaurants.
Kristina was a great host and the property was as described: funky in a good way, and the location is wonderful. The bed was exceeding comfortable, and there was an indoor parking space, which was important to me.
Kristina is a very interesting and charming person. She's also an artist (Google her). She suggested some fun things to do in the evening in the area, and she had a great list of local restaurants. I would definitely go back.
Kristina and her flat were fantastic! She was very hospitable, and the room accommodated perfectly. I would definitely recommend anytime.
Kristina's place was perfect for my needs.
The place was conveniently located in ktown with access to its many restaurants and bars. I was there only 1 night but Kristina made me feel very welcome and gave me all the information I needed to enjoy my stay there. She was easily contactable over phone/text so any questions I had were quickly answered.
Chatting with Kristina about her work as an artist was also very enjoyable. Both us had our own schedules so we didn't have time to interact much - which I hope to do the next time I am in LA.
