Ulrika was the ultimate host. She was very helpful from beginning to end with a super nice attitude. Her smile was most welcoming and her apartment was exactly as I expected. Everything went very smoothly and I highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Florence.
Sparkling clean, spacious, and with a congenial helpful hostess, the booking was everything you would want.
It was a bit farther from the center than some, but we had everything we needed with a small food shop a few doors down, morning fruit and vegetable stands a block away, a bar for espresso on the corner, and great pizza at a nearby restaurant. We enjoyed our stay in the neighborhood.
I thoroughly recommend this attractive and peaceful self-catering flat which was perfect for the 3 of us that were staying. The rooms were large, in excellent state of repair and everything was spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen and dining area ideal for our requirements. Having a small private balcony (shade in morning and sunshine in afternoon) was excellent too but if you have more time there is also the larger shared terrace and covered seating area which were once again extremely well maintaned. Great communication by Ulrika (with excellent local information kindly sent to us in advance) and both check-in and check-out with her husband Antonio worked perfectly. It was helpful that there is a lift - particularly when we were arriving and leaving with our luggage. Having 2 large beautifully clean bathrooms was a real bonus and air-conditioning was modern and extremely effective. We quickly got to enjoy the Porta Romana area itself and easily mastered the buses to the City which handily stop almost outside the Flat.......
Ulrika made the booking process very easy. E mail booking confirmations and a detailed list of how to get from Pisa to Florence and what to do and see in Florence was extremely helpful. On the last day we had vacated the room by 10.00 am and it was only after this that I realised I had lost something very special and it may be in the room. I rang Ulrika who was very sympathetic and told me that I could go back to the room to look for it and also because the room wasn't being used again until the next day to take our time which enabled us to get washed and spruced up before our evening flight !
The apartment is identical to what you see in the photos. So spacious and very, very clean. It's all new and very tastefully decorated. We stayed in the 'Boboli ' apartment where there are 2 bathrooms,a large living space with kitchen and a bedroom with a very comfy double bed and a lovely balcony with a table and chairs to enjoy your breakfast etc.
We also had the luxury of a pleasant sun terrace, something very rare for an apartment near to the centre of Florence ( only about a 15 min walk at the most ) and which we would use at the end of a day spent sight seeing.
We would definitely stay here again, we can't fault it. Thank you Ulrika and hope to see you again.
