We have a great vantage point up on a hill, though we're only a few minutes off PCH (using a private road, which you will be given a gate opener for access). We're just a few minutes away from Duke's Malibu for a reference point.
Guests have full and private use of all space as shown in the pictures, inside and outside. There is a main house above where the owners live. You will not see them unless perhaps walking to and from your car. We respect your privacy and are happy to make suggestions and ask but otherwise will let you enjoy the space without interruption.
There are two small dogs in the main house and at times you might hear some barking, but it should not be often or loud at all. Otherwise the area is quiet and serene just about any time of day.
This space is designed to fit up to 2 adults only. Due safety concerns from the drop-off on the side of the property we are not able to accommodate toddlers/young children.

Q: Is the beach walkable?
A: Unfortunately not, in order to get this incredible, panoramic ocean view we are on a street that has a steep incline and walking to the beach isn't really an option (some guests who are very active/hikers have done it but I think few would be able to do it comfortably). We're a 2-3 minute drive away from Duke's Malibu, and from there many beaches can be reached within minutes.
Q: Are there good restaurants nearby?
A: Yes! Here's the rundown:
Nobu - High-end Japanese food with beautiful ocean views
Cafe Habana - Nice tropical patio vibe
Kith Treats - Solid ice cream spot
Clark's - Great burgers and fish
Tra di Noi - Excellent pasta and risotto
Mastro's - When you want a proper steak with an ocean view.
Lucky Steakhouse - If you want a really good steak.
Papparzi - Good pizza up the coast (takeout only, no indoor seating)

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Sorry, we love dogs but the owners have dogs in the main house who are not friendly with other dogs so we cannot make exceptions, no matter how small or well-behaved.
Q: Do you really mean it when you say no parties/gatherings/extra visitors who aren't spending the night??
A: YES! We will cancel your reservation without a refund if you try to bring extra people on to the property. We live in a quiet family neighborhood and have a zero tolerance for parties/gatherings/events/"it's not a party I just invited some extra friends over"/unauthorized photo shoots/commercial activity
Guest access
Guests have full and private access to the guest suite and all outdoor sitting areas shown in the pictures. The main house above the guest suite is not included--pictures of the entire house are shown for reference only.
Other things to note
Please note that especially with our giant slider doors that create such a great vibe and being so close to nature, sometimes nature can get inside! If the occasional insect sends you into full meltdown mode, this isn't your spot.. It's the reality of creating an open inside/outside space that you will see some.
SMOKING OF ANY KIND IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. This is a smoke-free environment. We are in a high fire hazard area so we are very strict about enforcing this rule.
Due to our location in the mountains, cell phone service can be spotty around our property. Please keep this in mind and print out driving directions and check-in information for your reference prior to your arrival. Strong WiFi is available here once you check-in and you can turn on wifi calling on your phone.
Upon check-in we will buzz you in the private road and you will receive a gate clicker that will allow you to access the private road that is a quick and easy way to get to/from Pacific Coast Highway. We have 1 gate opener that you can borrow.
Please note no trucks, vans (including minivans), Sprinter/high top vans, camper vans, or oversize SUVs can use the private, gated road. You will need to take the longer, back route which is rather windy and takes about 10-15 minutes versus using the private gate. Only standard cars and small or mid-size SUVs can use the private gated road.
Guests have access to 5g WiFi throughout the guest house and outdoor areas.
No additional guests on the property at any time that are not on the reservation.
The gardener comes for weekly service on Monday mornings.
We're talking coastal canyon living here—expect nature's full cast of characters. Think whales breaching offshore, red-tailed hawks circling overhead, coyotes doing their thing at dusk, and the occasional crane. And some bugs. In the summer they are especially active.
Please note there is no luggage storage before check-in or after check-out. If you'd like to arrive early, just ask ahead of time and we will do my best to make it work... In most cases we cannot offer it, (though we may not be able to let you know either way until the morning of check-in in many cases). It is EXTREMELY rare that we can offer late checkout, but if you request it in advance as well we will let you know if it's possible. Requests the morning of for late checkout are not possible due to the need to schedule our cleaners in advance.
