1BR-Alamo Sq/Lower Haight w/Parking

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Oak St, San Francisco, CA 94117, United States

The Space

This is a great apartment in a great area, with off street parking. The apartment is modern, well decorated, and very comfortable. It's very clean and well taken care of. It's a single condo unit in a 4-unit house, recently redone just before I bought it 3 yrs ago.

It's a full 1-BR with great sunlight in the living/dining area. Full kitchen with dishwasher, garbage disposal, blender, microwave and large dining table with seating for 4-8 people (to seat 8 you need to expand the table, but there is already seating for 8). The living area has two full size sofas, one of which is a queen size sleeper. The bedroom has a full bed with a good mattress, a settee for extra seating, a small desk and antique dresser and night stands.

There is a flat screen TV in the living area/kitchen and one in the bedroom as well. Both have cable as well as internet connectivity so you can stream netflix and pandora on the TVs. There is also wifi in the apartment.

There is a garage below the unit where a small amount of storage is available (for bikes, luggage, etc) as well as the washer and dryer and the off street parking (1 compact space).

The unit is pet friendly for well behaved dogs and cats. (I have a small dog so I don't recommend this condo for someone with dog allergies.)

The neighborhood is best for people interested in dining, bars, live music venues, and parks. The Independent and Cafe du Nord are in close walking distance and many additional venues like Filmore, Boom Boom Room, Great American are accessible very quickly via bus or cab. There is some great dining on Divis like Regazza, Bar Crudo, Tsunami, Nopa, Nopalito and Little Star.

Nearby parks are Duboce (leash free area) and Alamo Square (leash free area) as well as Buena Vista and the Panhandle- all within a 5 block radius.

This neighborhood is the border of Alamo Square and Lower Haight. Nearby neighborhoods are: Western Addition, NoPa, Hayes Valley, Upper Haight, Lower Pac Heights and Mission/ Castro.

Nearby transportation: N Muni, or Buses (phone number hidden)L, 22 and 24.

Aspiring mystery-solvers like myself will especially enjoy my place which has a big collection of Agatha Christie novels to peruse while you are here and a signed photo of J.B. Fletcher herself, Mrs. Angela Lansbury, from Murder She Wrote to watch over you while you are here. There is even a classic edition of Clue to play and practice your sleuthing skills.

Your stay includes:
A cleaned apartment
Fresh guest towels
Freshly laundered white sheets
You are welcome to any toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, toothpaste, and lotion.
There typically isn't much food in the house, but you are welcome to any food that's there.
And most importantly, fresh automatic espresso and latte every day on my one-button Nespresso cappuccino machine.

And, finally, a few cautions:
1) This is a true city apartment, which means it's small. I believe the pictures are representative. There's one large room for living/dining room and one bedroom, and one bathroom.
2) The apartment faces Oak Street which is a busy local street that cuts across town and feeds into the 101S at Octavia. My door and windows are high quality and double paned and keep almost all the noise out, but a fair amount of street noise does get in. I don't even notice it anymore, but if you are use to complete silence while you sleep you may have trouble sleeping here if you are also a light sleeper. I do have a bottle of earplugs in the medicine cabinet, but just want to caution up front as well.

  • What a cute, well-located, clean, comfortable and convenient flat to rent for a few days in San Francisco!!

Oak Street is indeed a bit noisy, but the bedroom being located at the rear of the apartment, just close the door and you will sleep tight.

Big plus: the kitchen is really well equipped and there is a parking spot. That is perfect when one has a car to park and wishes to enjoy all of the local/organic goods + wines that the area has to offer.

Nicole was a great hostess, pleasant and quick on correspondance.
    I definitely recommend her flat!

  • Nicole's place really has a lot going for it. It's clean, comfy, and in a great location. Nicole is such an easy host to deal with. She reponded promptly to all our emails and came across as a really cool person. We would definitely stay at her place again in the future. Thanks, Nicole!

  • Nicole was a great host. The appartment was very clean and nice furnished. We received all instructions needed and had a wonderfull stay. The neighbourhood is also very nice. We didn´t use a car once and always went by foot. Next time we come to SF we would love to stay there again.

  • First off, communication with Nicole was amazing, she was totally on top of everything. Super informative and flexible! SF was the first stop on a multi-city west coast vacation and the apartment's central location made Muni and BART access a breeze.

Nicole left helpful info about the neighborhood that was convenient and necessary if you needed anything.

I highly recommend Nicole and her fabulous apartment!

  • Our stay at Nicole's place was wonderful. The apartment was neat and clean and everything we needed was easy to find. Her apartment is in a great location just a short walk to public transportation, Alamo Square and Lower Haight. The space was rather cozy and a welcome spot after a long day with access to cable and wi-fi to make it feel like home. Although she did warn against the street noise, neither of us had a problem, but we also live in the city. Still once you closed the bedroom door you could barely hear anything.

We had a wonderful time and hope to stay again in the future.

  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Not only is her apartment amazing, so is Nicole as a host. She was easy to communicate with and left personal touches that make you feel at home. The garage and parking space was an extra bonus especially in San Francisco. I would definitely stay here again!

  • The perfect cosy apartment for a great San Fran experience. The apartment was situated in a good location, close to public transport, cool streets and hip cafes. We hired a pair of bikes from a nearby shop and found this to be a good way to get around and see the sights. Nicole was more than helpful during our stay and offered us lots of hints and tips about where to eat, visit and ride. Overall we felt like it was our home away from home.

I'm listing my apartment in the Alamo Square/ Lower Haight neighborhood of San Francisco to rent it out while I am traveling. I travel alot for work, to places like Seattle, Hawaii, Portland, Montana, and New York, and I visit my hometown of New Orleans several times a year amongst other random trips. But unfortunately that means my great apartment in SF is empty so much of the time!
