Interaction with Guests
Very little, as we do not live in this home. We are occasionally in the yard doing yard work or in the other apartments or basement doing housekeeping and laundry from other guests.
No smoking. No pets. No candles. No camping in yard or driveway. Please be respectful of other guests in other apartments by keeping volume reasonably quiet on conversation, television, music, etc. Shared laundry facilities in basement of house. Please see full description at our website, sixthstreetretreat, with the usual triple w in front and (website hidden) at the end. Thank you!
Clean, comfortable and close to the college campus. This rental worked out perfectly for us. Thanks for providing a great home base while we moved our son to college!
This is the way to visit with family! Carol's place is a professionally kept, immaculate and a stylish retreat in a leafy neighborhood just a few blocks off Main Street. Our family of four enjoyed plenty of privacy to relax over the holiday. We found everything we needed, and though we did not have any communication with our host after the initial email contact, everything went well. We had completely forgot our check-out date the day after Thanksgiving, and were found bleary eyed in pajamas, clueless as to why the housekeeper had arrived: how embarrassing, right? He spoke with Carol by phone and arranged an extra hour to check out. That was that -- our stay was perfect; a home away from home.
Carol was a great host and made it super easy for us to find the place, get the key and relax in our space for the weekend. The Guest House was sparkling clean and worked out great for us. All of the items we needed for a couple of day's stay were there, including access to a washer/dryer in the basement -- a nice plus. Thanks Carol for being a great host.
The Guest House was a far better investment than just an ordinary hotel room during Dad's Weekend. It is well located, clean and very safe.
Very clean and a nice kitchen and a fine bathroom. The negative is that the furniture is "garage sale" specials and this odd collection of used furniture makes it feel like a college kid's house.
I spent a lovely two weeks in the Dormers Apartment of the Sixth Street Retreat. The apartment is wonderful: very clean and comfortable, and perfectly situated near Main Street, the University, and hiking spots such as Moscow Mountain. The apartment had everything I needed and more: from extra blankets to salt & pepper, cleaning supplies and high speed internet. Carol is a helpful and friendly host, who was able to answer all my questions both before arrival and during my stay. I'd highly recommend the Sixth Street Retreat and look forward to returning!
Our family stayed in the two bedroom apt that Carol had rented to us. It was a perfect place to stay and the location was great. We were able to have great lodging with the amenities of a kitchen and a beautiful yard to sit outside. The house was really close to downtown Moscow, and a very short drive to WSU. We would love to stay there again.
About the Host, Carol
My family and I own and operate BookPeople of Moscow in downtown Moscow, and rent out our three apartments in a lovely older home, the Sixth Street Retreat, just a few blocks away.
