Simone and Riccardo were perfect hosts. They always communicated and provided clear directions to get to their place. Riccardo was very accommodating in letting us leave our luggage well before check in and well after our checkout times. This helped us stay in Rome longer. Kitchen was replenished with croissants which my kids enjoyed. The place is comfortable and very close to the Vatican.
Perfect place ever! It's really close to Vatican and easy to go everywhere. Simone talk every detail about that place. He is really kind! Thanks to him we can do so many things! Everything was amazing and perfect! we can say It our one of best accommodation!
When we arrived at the apartment, Simone and Riccardo were very welcoming. Their English is very good and they like to talk a lot to their guests. They gave us a map of Rome and information about great sights to see, places to eat and tips for seeing attractions such as when the best time to go would be etc. They were very welcoming and friendly guys, but this was the most positive aspect of our stay. The rest was not up to standard. Firstly, they list themselves as a B&B. They are not. We were provided with in the kitchen, tupperwares of loose cereal and biscuits, half a used tub of nutella and two solitary croissants that were prepackaged. In my mind, the concept of a B&B is a fresh breakfast every day with someone there to cook for you, or at least a daily visit to replenish supplies. This was not the case. Secondly, Simone and Riccardo mentioned to us when we arrived that during our stay they might POSSIBLY pop back and check on the apartment but that they would message us before doing so. They indeed came by the apartment one day and we were luckily out, but they didn't mention it to us or message us beforehand which I was very unsettled by. What if we had been showering or changing and they just walked in? Also, we had left certain fans and lights on for our return that evening and when we arrived these had all been turned off. I am just grateful we locked our room. The listing itself was slightly misleading - I understand pictures are advertisements but they did not accurately reflect the condition or facilities in the place. Our room was dark and basic and not well lit or with any of the finishing touches we expected. The bathroom (wasn't ensuite) was also poor, the bottom of the bath was black with dirt, the loo seat didn't even cover half the toilet and the 'shower' was just a showerhead on a rail that came up the belly button height while in the bath. For this reason, we used the other bathroom that had a shower cubicle during our stay but this had a strange smell and wasn't particularly clean, the shower doors were limescaley and the grouting in the shower was very dirty. We were also the only occupants of the apartment during our stay which made no difference to us. Furthermore, the apartment got very hot and we had in our room a ceiling fan and a floor fan but neither of these were particularly sufficient. Also mosquitoes were a particular issue. Overall, we were pretty disappointed with this listing and think that though the men who own it are lovely people, a lot can be done to improve. If in Rome for a few days, stay elsewhere.
We are happy you enjoyed our welcoming and our advices but we are very sorry to read the rest. We are afraid we had a misunderstanding.
The breakfast included yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, fruit juice, bread, biscuits, cereals, jam and Nutella and we also asked if you prefered something else or different but you said it was more than enough.
You rented just a room of the apartment and we said that we would have come in the flat. When we went we rang the bell many times before to come inside to advice you. We always respect the privacy of our guest.
The bathroom is the one you saw in the picture and it works good. The other bathroom you used wasn't deep clean because it's for the other room that wasn't reserved.
We are sorry for the hot temperatures but this July in Rome is the hottest from 1 century and we provided 3 fans just for you to refresh. In hot summer it's possible to find mosquitos in all the city of Rome.
In any case we thank you for your advices, we do everyday our best to improve our services and we'll keep to do that for any guest.
It would be a pleasure to host you again to show you what means for us the satisfaction of our guests.
Simone & Riccardo
We spent 3 days (2 night) in this fine apartment. Everything we needed was there. They even took care af a baby bed for our 1 year old! This was an extra service! From the location it is easy to walk to a lot of Rome's sightseeings. Some we visited by bus or metro, witch off course was very hectic. Only problem was the wetter. It was very very hot (35+ degrees) and even at night is was very warm in the room. Some ventilators gave a little airstream.
Thanks for everything!
Riccardo was very friendly and helpful. He gave us the keys and then stayed to explain how to get around the area. Apartment is as pictured. Was nice to have some small breakfast foods conveniently in the kitchen. Apartment is slightly noisy, since it is next to a main street
As a family of 4 (2 boys aged 7 & 8), we really had a wonderful time and experience in Riccardo's place! Riccardo was a very gracious and helpful host! He didn't hesitate to help us when we had problems with the main door to the apartment, he helped to fix the shower when we reported it was leaking, and he answered all of our questions and even helped to book us a cab from the airport when we arrived and when we were leaving. My kids adore him as he is very friendly. The place itself was very spacious for 4 guests with a balcony! The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast. Little items like toilet paper rolls and kitchen towels and napkins were all available for us to use. The place is also ideal for those who are going for the Papal Audience. Riccardo was nice enough to let us leave our luggage and come back for it after the Papal Audience. Overall, we recommend the place and we will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in Rome.
