Welcome to our Little House on the Urban Prairie!
We invite you to enjoy our vintage-inspired bungalow as you vacation in our sweet, centrally located neighborhood in the Bay Area!
Our open concept, sunny living room and dining room areas with their tall bookcases, Tiffany lamps and well-appointed furniture offer a relaxing, relational ambiance after a day of exploring in San Francisco, admiring the Redwoods, or imbibing at the Napa wineries. If you are here to explore UC Berkeley, we are a 10 minute BART ride to downtown, a 20 minute bike ride on the Ohlone Greenway, or a 15 minute drive by car. We are also very close to many bus routes.
In our remodeled kitchen with its host of amenities to please any chef, you may create culinary delights from nearby El Cerrito Farmer’s market (El Cerrito Plaza: Tuesdays and Saturdays 9AM -1PM) or from El Cerrito Natural Grocery’s cornucopia of organic produce, dairy, meats and baked goods. A gathering of 8 of your friends or family could enjoy a feast around our dining room table. You may also choose from a plethora of restaurants (Sushi, Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican, Indian or New California cuisine - we will provide a guest guide with recommendations) all within walking distance.
In the relaxing master bedroom, you will be snoozing in no time in our super comfortable, full- size bed. You will wake up to the chirping of birds and the sun streaming over the roses outside your window.
Our living room has a comfy couch that opens into a double bed to accommodate another couple.
Your kids will love their bedroom with a bunk bed with 2 twin beds (Photos soon to follow) tons of great books and a gazillion toys. They will romp heartily in our huge yard, complete with a hidden sandbox,a mini playhouse and yes, more toys, while you enjoy your own toy, the gas BBQ as you lounge in your grown up space under the shade of our crab-apple tree.
If you enjoy strolling for your morning coffee, Well Grounded Tea and Coffee is a favorite destination as it is our sweet, local hangout. When you are ready for some good local brew, head to Elevation 66 and then catch a movie at the Art Deco Cerrito Theater offering plush sofas, gourmet pizza and libations. You may want to work off a bit of the good life at a very lively Zumba class (El Cerrito Community center - 9AM daily -it also has an awesome pool and water play area for kids), try climbing at Bridges Rock Gym or get your heat on with Bikram at the El Cerrito Yoga studio. For a little TLC, $20 will get you a head to toe massage at Golden Island Massage at the Pacific East Mall, where you will be transported into various Asian cultures. You may also enjoy a walk to Hibiscus, a charming little spa.
We are so pleased to be able to share our sweet home with you and your family and would be delighted to regale you with more gems of the surrounding air (Hiking trails at Wildcat Canyon and Tilden Park, the Rope Swing at Albany hill, karaoke at Melodee - tell us your penchant and we’ll oblige!)

Limor made an every effort to make me at home before my arrival.
My questions about the amenities, neighborhood, and safety were all answered accurately.
Personally, it was hard to adjust myself to heating system in the house, and i finally found it is more appropriate for me to stay at apartment which has central heating system so that can not make me feel suffocated with overheated atmosphere.
However, except some mistakes i made before or during the stay(such as choosing a wrong location just too far from SFO, and breaking a soap bottle at night) i really satisfied with the decoration and cleanness of the house. These two made me feel at home.
