About This Listing
Architectual perl located north of Copenhagen close to train station, lakes, forest and family friendly activities.
Our family of five (including 2 parents, 2 boys aged 6 and 3, and 1 girl aged 4) had a wonderful time in this light, bright, sun-filled, nicely- decorated and very comfortable home. The children were delighted with the toys to play with inside, and the large trampoline in the sunny garden. The kitchen was so homely, stocked with ample utensils and crockery including child-friendly plastic cups and bowls so us parents didn't need to worry about something getting broken! And it was super to have the washing machine and all the cooking facilities, cooker, kettle, fridge, toaster etc.. so handy for a family to prepare exactly what food they want to, when they want to, compared to staying in a hotel. Each child had their own bedroom, which was fantastic for us all to settle down at night and get a great night's sleep.
The reason we chose this house was because it was close to where my sister lives, with whom we wanted to spend our Easter holidays, along with other members of our family, but I would highly recommend it anyway. The house is close to bus and metro transport links and not far from supermarkets, take-aways, cafes, a bakery etc. Mathias and Celine communicated easily with us and seemed relaxed about us staying there. They prepared videos on YouTube to describe things in the house and left information for us.
Having my sister's insider local knowledge was a great help and we managed to get around sharing lifts and using local transport, however another family might like to consider hiring a car. We visited Louisianna, a fascinating indoor and outdoor art/sculpture gallery with free art and craft activities for children. Another day was spent at Bakken funfair which was exhilarating for our children. We also enjoyed a day strolling around Copenhagen centre, relaxing on a canal tour from beautiful Nyhavn, admiring Rosenborgslot and Botanical Gardens and eating al fresco at the market near Norreport station. Other days we spent at my sister's house and garden, playing with her children, walking around the lovely local forest and playing at the lakeside. For our entire five day stay, the weather was glorious so we saw Wonderful Copenhagen in blue skies - it was a terrific holiday. It was our first time to use airbnb so we are thrilled that it was such a success.
