We stayed for three nights at Carols place in Mill Valley at the beginning of a three week vacation in California. This was our 1st time using Airbnb and we were not disappointed. The room was clean and the hot tub outside was great. We made full use of the coffe machine and also enjoyed the bottle of wine left in the room to welcome us. Having flown from Scotland we were unsure re time of arrival with a delay picking up the rental car etc however Carols husband kept in touch by text and ensured that we were able to pick up the key to access the room. Our hosts were friendly and easy to get along with. As we were attending an event on Mount Tamalpais on the Saturday Carol drove us to the pick up point for the shuttle bus which was much appreciated. She also recommended a good place for breakfast which we used twice. I would recommend Carols place for a stay
Carol and Frank were very welcoming and kind. We got clean cozy room with private entrance and bathroom, good internet connection and bottle of local wine. Hosts are very oriented on positive reviews and trying to do their best for improving level of comfort.
Mill Valley is very nice place and we met a lot of wild animals there: deers, raccoons and skunks.
If you driving rental car and going from Mill Valley to SF via Golden Gate bridge, notice that there is no cash booth, so pay toll in advance in Internet, otherwise rental company will collect a fee for tolls processing.
Carol and Frank are indeed super hosts. They welcomed me with a bottle of wine and later made me feel like an honored guest at Sunday breakfast. Carol invited me on walks with our dogs to off-leash trails I didn't know about, even though I live in Marin. For anyone traveling with a dog, this cute and complete temporary home is ideal. My dog Mochi LOVED hanging out in the thoroughly fenced yard, where she had access to grass, porch, additional dog-run for pooping, and playtime wrestling and running with Colby. The bed was comfortable, so that I conked out every night and slept better than I usually do! Everything you need is in the little room. The flat screen smart TV with cable channels meant I didn't have to miss my usual shows or my constant companion NPR. The Keurig coffee maker made better coffee than Peet's! The desk indoors and makeshift desk outdoors allowed me to work and the wifi is PERFECT. Mid-week Carol had the house cleaner come and clean the bathroom and change the sheets. The sunny yard with lounge chairs and the hot tub make this a great place to relax. The location is fantastic -- close to Sausalito where I kayaked, Tennessee Valley trails where I hiked, and not far from the Golden Gate bridge to San Francisco. And the price is right. Where can you find a place for one or two people plus dog for under $100?
Oh. And I left out how interesting Frank and Carol both are. Great talks. And all I had to do was tell them I needed something and boom! it was there. No one had told them some buttons on the microwave didn't work. That very day, a brand new microwave was installed!
I will be back.
The location was great for our activities. The private bath is convenient. Carol has good energy and is friendly.
Mill Valley is beautiful and the room was exactly as described. A lot of effort was made to make it as welcoming as possible but it was a bit dusty! Needed a bit of a vacuum too.
The hot tub was lovely, as was the private entrance and bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay. Thanks for having me!
Carol and Frank made us feel very welcome, super friendly and quick to respond to any needs. Check in was a breeze, parking is easy and the room looks exactly as listed. It was so nice to have our own space to unwind and relax including a small yard, our own entry and the room is a step or two from a fabulous hot tub that we were sure to make use of daily. The location is beautiful and a great neighborhood to explore.
Carol was a wonderful host! She greeted us when we arrived and checked in with us everyday. The description of the place was accurate: it was a nice, private room, set off from the street, with a beautiful, secluded yard with lots of trees, flowers, and shade. This space was perfect for my dog when I went cycling for a few hours. The size of the room was just enough for a few days getaway, and very cozy.
