Interaction with Guests
Depending on my schedule, I may be home to greet you or may leave you a key, in which case we can make introductions when we're both at home. I've lived in Austin for the past ten years, and can provide recommendations for dining around town, as well as suggestions for where to have drinks or do some shopping. I lead a pretty busy life, but am always available via phone, text, or e-mail to answer any questions you have if you don't catch me at home.
The house is located 2 miles east of the Capitol on a quiet cul-de-sac on the burgeoning east side. Park adjacent, there are lots of options for a quiet walk or jog right outside the front door. You'll find killer breakfast tacos just a couple blocks away, and a popular 24-hour coffee shop is an easy 20 minute walk.
The house is a block from two bus lines that will take you downtown in 20 minutes and just a short cab ride to the Sixth Street entertainment districts and UT Campus. Cyclists are welcome and there is one bicycle available for guests with a $100 CASH deposit. My home is an easy 50-minute walk/bus ride or 5-mile bicycle ride to Zilker Park along the hike and bike trail. During F1 and X Games there are shuttles from downtown and city-mapped bicycle routes to those events as well.
Other Things to Note
Guests with dog allergies, please take note: the house is home to one small, sweet, well-mannered dog. Guests will be responsible for ensuring she remains on-premises during their stay.
Guests must be respectful, quiet when hostess may be reasonably expected to be sleeping, friendly to the dog, and generally responsible individuals. No smoking in the house. Drinking to excess happens, but no pukers or bed-wetters please. Dogs must be well behaved and not destructive of furniture or other items in the house.
Eryn was a wonderful host. Her place was lovely, welcoming, and very well kept, and she made us feel absolutely at home. She was also kind enough to let me use her spare bike, which was a wonderful way to explore the city. The location was also excellent- a short bike or very direct bus ride away from downtown. I would have absolutely no qualms about recommending Eryn to friends and family, and am so grateful to have had such a wonderful introduction to Austin. Thanks, Eryn!
I stayed in the 'funky room' while attending ACL. Eryn is a wonderful host: friendly, very communicative and helpful. Her home is simple, full of warmth and kept safe by a very loving Bernadette! The sofa bed is comfy and most important for me: there is a high pressure hot shower to refresh you every morning! I enjoyed my stay in Austin and would definitely stay here again, maybe ACL next year!
I enjoyed staying with Eryn. She is friendly, intelligent and easy to talk to. She was really well prepared, kindly accommodated me at short notice and made sure my stay was comfortable. I had all the space and privacy I needed. Her cute home is clean and well decorated in a nice neighbourhood. Eryn's gorgeous, kind natured dog made me feel even more welcome. I would love to stay here again, Thanks for being a great host Eryn!
Love, love, love. Eryn's place is all about location, I could get to SoCo, Barton Springs, Downtown - anywhere, within a few minutes drive. She is a gracious host with the perfect set up - not only do you get a bright, sunny, clean room but the front room can be your very own living room/office! (Though I suggest you get out and explore as much as you can!) Thank you, Eryn, I will for sure be back!
Eryn was an extremely accommodating host and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable in her home. She was unusually considerate and nothing, but pleasant to deal with. The room was a bargain and I only have good things to say about her place.
Eryn was a brilliant host. She provided welcome treats on our arrival and sorted out any queries we had immediately. The house was very comfortable. We all agreed we would definitely stay again!. Thanks for everything Eryn!!!
I came to Austin for SXSW and was lucky to find this room. It's a 10min/$10 ride by cab from downtown, or 25min by bus (the train is not really useful in fact).
Room is decorated with some influence from the 70's, it's a sofa, but I was able to sleep very well, being tired from SXSW certainly helped!
Eryn has two dogs, and as the room is separated by a curtain, they might come to the room, so you need to be fine with dogs (they are really nice)

Laid-back professional who did a lot of time in the service industry. Passionate about music, literature, and vegan food. I moved to Austin from the Midwest ten years ago and never looked back. I'd much rather be riding my bike in January than shoveling snow!
