Beautiful one-bedroom private cottage with full bath adjacent to patio, deck, and hot tub; wifi; street parking; walking distance from coffee houses, restaurants, and bars; centrally located in quiet neighborhood.
Our cottage has a separate entrance and is completely private. We live in Hyde Park, an historic Austin neighborhood, close to the University of Texas and downtown. There is a city bus stop two short blocks from our house that goes directly downtown every 20 minutes.
We have a wide range of locally-owned restaurants, bars and food trucks nearby.
Monica and Greg are the hosts with the mosts!!!! They are Austinites through and through with great recommendations on where to eat, music venues, festivals, and hot spots not to be missed. Their warmth is the first thing you feel when entering this hidden gem in Hyde Park.
Our private cottage was nestled in the trees and was appointed with lovely ammenities. We had fluffy white towels, a fridge stocked with beer and Topochico, as well as snacks for when we were on the go! I will definately stay here again and would higly recommend it to future guests!
We spent the weekend in this lovely cottage in Austin. It was very nice for a short stay. It was convenient to local highways and some nice local shopping and dining. The neighborhood was quiet and calm. There was a small fridge with some refreshments supplied and a pot for tea and coffee. Their backyard and gardens are lovely and we enjoyed them very much. Monica was a very kind and considerate hostess. Overall, we had very nice weekend. We hope to return in the future.
Monica was a lovely host. Her cute little free-standing, private cottage was just what we wanted. It was quiet, in a nice neighborhood and had all the essentials: comfortable queen-sized bed, real blanket and comforter (becoming scarcer and scarcer in hotels, but I appreciate them!), "dorm sized" fridge with a little freezer, hot water kettle for making tea, coffee, instant oatmeal, etc. The bathroom was very small, but clean, and functional. The garden was lovely and she has a hot tub which guests can use, but we didn't use either--we were out early and in late every day. The internet worked great--until AT&T itself went down. Monica then spent an hour on the phone with them to get them back up, as we had a couple of urgent emails to end. (Thanks, Monica!)
We had a bit of trouble reaching Monica by email initially, but we did finally succeed and then found that if contacted by text, she responds within seconds! We had a great stay!
Absolutely lovely. True to the host's listing. I appreciated the attention to detail. The cottage was extremely comfortable and peaceful. Flightpath coffee is only two or three blocks away. A great location for student visitors or work travelers like us!
Very positive experience - Friendly, well-informed host, happy little dog that would greet us when we got back to the property. Both the room and bathroom were comfy and clean and the neighborhood was cute and safe.
This was by far one of my favorite airbnb stays. The place was private, your own cottage detached from the main house, with your own entrance and bathroom. Monica left some snacks and drinks which was so lovely.
Parking was a breeze and getting around Austin from the apartment was great. Loved the outdoor space and being greeted by their dog each morning!
Very highly recommend this place!
Beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of town. Austin has so much to offer and this peaceful place is the perfect place to start discovering. I hired a bike and peddled downtown for sxsw every day, but please do not forget to discover Hyde Park for a little bit. Julio's Cafe is a must-go, I miss their delicious and affordable meals already... Monica also gave me some great advice about what to do with my free Sunday.
