Trastevere, roman home with garden

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Vicolo del Bologna, Rome, Lazio 00153, Italy

The Space

Trastevere is the most "Roman" part of Rome.
The apartment is in the heart of Trastevere, right next to Piazza della Scala and behind Piazza Trilussa.

Despite its location in one of the most colorful and lively areas of Rome, the apartment is quiet because it is tucked away inside the courtyard of a historic palazzo. After a day of walking to visit museums and monuments, you can relax in the little garden, filled with lots of potted plants (and an artwork or two).

During the day, walking towards one of Rome’s best outdoor markets, only a few minutes away, you’re more like to cross real Romans instead of tourists along the neighborhood’s distinctive cobble stoned streets. And at night, Trastevere becomes the heart of Roman living. There are dozens of outdoor restaurants, pizzerias and wine bars to choose from. Or you can just stroll along the winding alleys, eating gelato —it is a very happy place.

Feature of apartment: one large bedroom, living room with sofa which could be converted into a double bed, kitchen with stove, microwave oven, coffee maker, hot water maker, bathroom with tub and shower. Build-in AC and heater in both bedroom and living room. A large courtyard. Washer/dryer in “storage” room along courtyard. WI-FI internet connection.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The appartement is very well located in the heart of Trastevere, with its own little courtyard. The apartment itself smell a bit of humidity and isn't decorated to our personal taste, but it was very handy and the weather was gorgeous so we didn't really spend time in it.
Roberto was very kind and even shared tips on where to go and eat with us. We had a fantastic time in Rome!

  • This place was the best decision we ever made. It is a true gem in the heart of Trastevere and I would recommend it to anyone. Roberto was great, helpful, and responsive throughout our entire stay, and Trastevere is a dream.

Next time I visit Rome, I will be staying here again. Cannot be beat.

  • We stayed for 5 nights in early October, 2013. The apartment is as described in the website, with a nice garden area. It was an adequate space for 2 with a small but well equipped kitchen and bathroom. It is located in the heart of the Trastevere food and shopping scene. Roberto was very friendly, and helpful and answered all of our questions promptly throughout our stay.

  • Great location in a part of Rome with a lot of atmosphere. I very much liked that Trastevere still feels like it's off the beaten track. Though it's filled with tourist-oriented restaurants, it still feels like a neighborhood. Roberto was helpful and made himself available whatever it was needed. Thanks! Like one of the reviews said, the place is a little musty, which can be relieved by opening windows and doors to facilitate light and air. The air con helps too... But think a de-humidifier would be a good addition. Since the place is on the expensive side, I think this should be addressed.

  • We stayed for a week in Roberto's place. It was perfect, well located and with a lot of Italian charm. We really recommend that place ! Roberto is a perfect host !

  • This apartment has some great advantages but also one or two minor drawbacks. Whether it is right for you depends on what you are looking for.

The location is simply wonderful, in the middle of Trastevere, full of bars and restaurants, but still the apartment is very quiet since the windows are facing the backyard. It is also a good location for exploring Rome, since it is close to both the Vatican and the historical centre.

Also so nice that the apartment has its own garden!

Roberto was welcoming, nice and very easy to communicate with all the way through, and answered very quickly to our questions both via e-mail and text messages. He was also very understanding and let us check out at 12 instead of 11.

The drawback was that the apartment was quite humid, something which Roberto mentioned himself when we arrived. The bed sheets and our clothes felt damp (although the bed itself was very comfortable). The wi-fi is a bit unstable (we often had to restart the router).

All in all a great place to explore Rome and Trastevere, if you don't mind the humidity and isn't going to be sitting online constantly ;)

  • This place is definitely very well located. The neighborhood of Trastevere offers so much, very vibrant and active, yet when you come home is extremely quiet! Roberto was really nice and always on time. Overall it was very good.

  • You cannot beat the location of this apartment when staying in Rome. The proximity to great food and drinks is the best. You are also close to all the tourist sites but far enough away to get a better sense of the real Rome.
The place itself was the perfect size and worked great for my families needs. And the private patio is fantastic for relaxing after seeing the sites and before heading to dinner.

  • Trastevere is probably the best location in Rome! The appartment is perfect for up to four persons with its lovely garden.. which is surely a great added value to the apartment. Roberto is a good host and helpful in providing information about the city. We recommend this choice with pleasure.
