Welcome to the Wine Down Retreat- Seneca Lake! Visiting us for your lake getaway is an absolute must! Located right on the Seneca wine trail with the best views. Hiking nearby, water activities, and fishing from the brand new dock, there's no need to leave! We are minutes from downtown. Boat hoist, NEW HOT TUB in 2025, dock, 2 decks, paddle boards, kayaks and all the modern amenities make this 4 bedroom Lakehouse your home away from home! Come enjoy Seneca Lake and let us take care of the rest!

The space
This is a spacious lake-home with an open floor layout and several seating areas on the lake and decks. The living room has a large Roku TV with a surplus of board games and table games to use during your stay. In addition, you will find smart TV's upstairs as well.

The large dining area can easily seat up to 8 people. Kitchen comes stocked with pans, dishes, and any equipment you would need to cook or bake. We have stainless steel new appliances and a gas stove.

Outside you will find a large grill on the boathouse deck. The deck has spots for lounging in the sun and a dining table with umbrella. From the interior of the home you will find an additional covered deck with lots of seating and a ceiling fan if you want to be outside but in the shade!

The Retreat sleeps many which includes two futons in the space for additional guest arrangements. All mattresses are brand new.

The dock comes with access to the boat hoist for use during your stay. The hoist is only for speed boats. If you wish to moor your boat or pontoon, please return it to the marina to avoid damaging the dock. (Jet ski and lift are not for use).
Paddle boards and kayaks are provided in the boathouse along with a few extra lawn games.
Life jackets are provided and should always be worn. If you need a certain size, we recommend you bring.

We’ve partnered with our friends at Hot Roc Sauna to bring this one of a kind experience directly to you. A perfect addition to your stay, the barrel sauna is fully self-contained and
includes everything you need for a memorable getaway! Inquire with host for details and special discounts!

There are steps from the home down to the waterfront, roughly 10. There is a ladder from the dock to get you into the lake should you need it, its about waist deep in the front of the dock. The water is very shallow and perfect for swimming. Swim at your own risk. Water shoes are recommended.

Most of the perimeter has solar lighting including the dock for outdoor evening adventure. Make sure to check out the fire-pit and get your s'mores on! We do not provide firewood however, you are more than welcome to bring your own or purchase anywhere along the roadside. There is plenty in our area to choose from and very inexpensive. This is a perfect spot for gathering and enjoying holidays all year around.

Guest access
Guests have access to 4 of the 5 parking spots, all aspects of the main home and all parts of the waterfront during their stay. The laundry room can be accessed from the outside (with a key). Dock only is shared with our 2 person cottage guests when rented, no other waterfront area is shared. As always, please be courteous and kind to everyone.

Other things to note
There is 2 person cottage rental property attached to the other side of the garage and available for rent if you would like more space. Check out the listing, it is called the Winedown Bungalow and you can view it under my other properties.

This space may be rented to (2) guests during your stay. They have an exclusive parking spot labeled as such, do not park in their space please. They are only permitted to the dock which is shared and they are not permitted to any of the waterfront area, firepit, or decks. As always, please be courteous and kind to all neighbors and renters alike.

Starter packs of toilet paper, paper towel, and garbage bags are provided.

We are on a Septic system. This system does not allow for anything other than toilet paper to be flushed down the toilets and no food should be put down the drains. These systems are expensive and costly to repair. Please be mindful during your stay as to avoid any charges related to repairs. Thank you for your consideration.

Pets are not permitted on the property.

Neighborhood highlights

The location is nestled on a private road to many long time home owners and renters. The property backs up to the FLX Railway, they come through maybe twice a day, be sure to check it out. As always, be safe and do not walk on the tracks. The Retreat is across the road from Billsboro Winery where you can socialize with food, live music, and wine! Keep exploring and you will notice we are within a 5 mile radius to a dozen wineries and restaurants. This home is minutes from downtown Geneva (we are located in Geneva also), Hobart and William Smith colleges, Seneca State Park, and much much more. Roys Marina is right down the road for all your water activity rental needs. We are 2 miles from Belhurst Castle and close to many golf courses. Watkins Glen is a scenic drive to the bottom of the lake and has many shops, hiking trails, and festivals throughout the seasons. Fishing is a preferred sport of this lake too!
