Fernando was quite welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. He helped us change our money, had recommendations and tips for the area, and was easily accessible (we either knocked on the door of his apartment, which was next door, or we e-mailed, to which he always responed quickly). He also helped us get an airport taxi our last day. The apartment was exactly as advertised - it was clean, stylish, and had a tiny kitchen with essentials (fridge, sink, coffeemaker, cups and utensils). There was a range and a toaster oven, which we might have made use of if we had been staying longer. We loved using the balcony by the bedroom to just hang out. This apartment is on the edge of Palermo Soho, which made it extremely convenient to many restaurants and stores. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this apartment.
Fernando is the perfect host: He reacted immediately to our booking, welcomed us personally at our arrival and helped us changing US$ into local currency. Fernando lives next door to the duplex airbnb apartment, keeps it immaculate and can be contacted at any time if necessary - for example to order a local taxi or giving tips with shops and restaurants.
The location of Fernando's flat is brilliant: 10min taxi drive from the Buquebus ferry port, in the middle of buzzing Palermo with many restaurants, bars, theatres, boutiques etc. The covered roof terrace is a great place to get a feel for the neighbourhood, enjoy a good breakfast, sit, read or browse the internet and relax in the evening after a busy day. We can highly recommend Fernando's flat as a base to explore Bueons Aires.
Great space, great location, wonderful host! A gem and well worth the rental fee. Very comfortable, good TV for viewing from bed in bedroom, AC was efficient, quiet and useful when apartment heats up from sunlight. Good quality sunshades, openable but secure windows on south side, apartment's external wall.
Fernando was welcoming, helpful and efficient. Equally important he was around when we needed him (he and his family live in the adjacent apartment). He communicated with us in timely and helpful fashion, he made our stay extra nice.
The apartment is in a wonderful location, safe, reasonably quiet and trendy without being at all glitzy district of Palermo Soho, one of the most desirable districts of Buenos Aires. The apartment is every bit as nice as the photos show it to be and the balcony off of the second story bedroom is even nicer. We loved it at breakfast time, at noon-time, at twilight time and after sunset. Well furnished apartment with most comfortable queen sized bed (firm mattress, hooray!), good AC, good plumbing, good refrigerator and gas stove top (two burners) and real toaster as well as toaster oven and microwave. The only thing that was missing for us was minor: a tea kettle, a ceramic tea pot and a tea cozy for keeping the tea warm (but as confirmed English breakfast tea aficianados even though we are Americans, we have learned one can only expect that in UK airbnbs and even there not in all of them.) Everything is very well maintained and the fixtures including the shade curtains are all of high quality construction and materials. There are electric outlets readily available including one right beside the table Son the balcony. From the balcony, one is able to look over the tops of the numerous plane (sycamore) trees and surrounding roof tops to the BA skyline to the east. Wonderful restaurants within four to five short blocks, cafes, bars, shops. Subway (Subte, metro) is a bit of a hike, maybe 12-15 minute walk to nearest stop. Apt. occupies top two floors of 4 story bldg, there's a small dunking pool on the roof for cooling off, not deep enough nor large enough for swimming. Great English speaking travel agency nearby, Say Hueque, on Thames near Soler. Wonderful service. Social Paraiso is fabulous gourmet bistro within five blocks at Honduras and Uriarte, very reasonable prices, accurate descriptive English menu with a great chef. La Lechuza at 2080 Uriarte (near Soler) is wonderful hole-in-the-wall “bodegon” (ma and pa inexpensive but well cooked food but no English menu.) Cannot reconmend Fernando's place enough, stayed there on 3 day weekend during Carnival in mid-Feb, was not noisy, would gladly have stayed 3 more days had it been available
The apartment was nice and spacious, in a great location. Balcony was very nice to sit outside. Fernando was quite responsive and helpful with questions. Only minor issue is that there is some construction going on in the building across the street so it was a bit loud in the morning, but nothing too bad.
Fernando was a fantastic host, getting in touch with me in advance to explain the details of the stay and providing some preparation suggestions. The apartment is just beautiful. Tasteful decoration, even better than it appears in photos. It feels like something you may find in the heart of New York village or Brooklyn, but still has the BA authenticity to it. The balcony is stunning. You can smell and feel the city by gazing out there. The neighbourhood is beautiful, next to all the right places. Fernando's guidebook will take you to where you need to go. Highly recommend it.
Fernando was very accommodating in every way possible. The apartment was beautiful and in the ideal location in Palermo Soho. Couldn't have had a better time.
