Our family stayed at this property for almost a month and it was wonderful! The place was all cleaned when we checked-in.
Nick, the host responded to our inquiries and bookings very quickly. Donna, the property manager also did an awesome job in accommodating our stay, from providing us with extra fans and furniture, to replacing our curtains. Her service and hospitality really went above and beyond!
The location is also a great and there were a lot of good restaurants nearby. Wifi is really fast. They also provide very CONVENIENT amenities, like beach chairs, umbrellas, beach and bath towels, other bathroom amenities like shampoo, washer and dryer, and free detergent as well!
We are very satisfied. And strongly recommend this place.
Thank you Nick and Donna!
Day 1: found a dirty pair of boxers in the dresser. Bath tub was extremely dirty and had stains all over bottom.
Weeks 1-2: caretaker entered apartment several times without providing notice prior to entering. Came back early one day to find door wide open and police car parked outside apartment (apparently because there's lots of problems in the neighborhood). Was upset that door was left open. Came home early on a Friday to find my door open and the caretaker was replacing a couch with a USED couch that she reported getting "a great deal" since it was only $35. Well that couch must have been FLEA infested because by Monday I had 50+ bites covering my body. Ive got photos of awful bites on me, fleas in apartment, a flea biting my foot, etc. Caretaker verbally admitted to having a flea problem in past. I stayed with relatives the next few days. Caretaker LOCKED ME OUT so I couldn't get access to my nightly medication or my possessions. Hosts agreed to refund the rest of my stay, but did not want to refund me June 2-10 (even though I wasn't staying there!) Because the apartment was "unrentable"... it was unrentable due to the fleas brought in by the used couch! Luckily by contacting airbnb the customer service representatives were able to work out a resolution.
Aside from that, it is easy to hear people walking on floor above you.
Pros: located close to beach. Hosts were initially very nice when I contacted them to book (but I wasn't able to reach them after that)
We are of course very disappointed that Kimberly had an unpleasant experience whilst staying at our property. Unfortunately, much of what Kimberly writes is completely untrue. We professionally clean the property prior to all guests arriving. We have a comprehensive program of pest control for the entire property with a local company, Rick Ritter, who spray for prevention regularly throughout the year. Rick Ritter came the following morning after Kimberly reported the fleabite, sprayed again, but found no indication of any flea activity inside the property. We have had guests staying for the last 3 years on the property, and to this point no one has ever informed us of a fleabite. Rick Ritter surmised that Kimberly might have been bitten outside the property, as they could find no evidence of fleas inside the property. Kimberly was never locked out of the property – as with all guests, she had a set of keys on her at all times for the duration of her stay. On June 10, Kimberly and airbnb officially informed us that she wished to end her stay early. As we always do in the case of any unhappy guests, we immediately reimbursed her for the remaining dates on her stay. The neighborhood is safe, and we have never had any trouble in and around the property. The house opposite is brand new construction, and there are luxury condominiums just down the street. Donna, our property manager, who lives on the property and attends daily to our guest's needs, has received glowing reviews from so many guests on this website. The guests staying in the 3BD apartment above Kimberly at the same time, just wrote this on their review: “This was a great location for a family get together and the host (Donna) was very pleasant and went out of the way to make us feel comfortable and answer any questions. We had the upstairs unit with 3 bedrooms and that met our needs perfectly. Thanks again!”
Overall excellent experience. Lovely property with all the necessary amenities including internet, cable, towels, beach chairs, exotic plants, birds, lounge chairs and an outdoor dinning area with a barbecue.
As a property manager, Donna was phenomenal and she was always wiling to suggest various attractions, beaches and restaurants. Her friendliness and professionalism helped make our trip great.
The property is located in a historic section of Clearwater that is near the water and various new condominiums, mansions and century homes. As a veteran law-enforcement officer, I found the neighborhood very safe and would definitely return to this house the next time we are in Clearwater.
I strongly recommend this property.
Deeply disappointed. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy and has an unsafe feel. The advertisement for this property is very misleading. This is not a charming vacation rental, but would be better suited as a low income apartment. This is an old house in very poor repair with peeling paint, and wood rot. The property is several blocks from water access, which is only a back bay park and not swimmable. The beach is about three miles away. Generally, everything about this place is rundown even down to the beach chairs which are rusty, thread bare and mildewy. The house is right around the corner from empty buildings and abandoned lots. For more accurate pictures of the condition of this house, go to Tim Case's flicker album titled bad vacation house. The one bright spot in our experience was the host, Donna who worked hard and did her very best to take care of us. There were no beach towels or a blowdryer, however she went out and bought them for us as soon as she could.
We would have immediately left when we saw the property but Florida during spring break offers no vacancy options.
We are sad that Lori had a disappointing experience. In this property, we offer three budget-friendly apartments with basic amenities in a classic old-style Florida home close to Clearwater Beach. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, no-frills, and priced appropriately. The house opposite and condominiums nearby are brand new construction. We appreciate feedback, and are always striving to improve and provide a good experience for our guests. We understand that different people have different expectations. By comparison, here is the review from Marie in the same house, in the adjacent 1BD apartment, who stayed at the same time as Lori. Marie wrote, "Great experience! The place is a perfect romantic getaway for those on a budget. Donna, the property manager, goes above and beyond the call of duty. We appreciated the "at home" feel and the way she told us what's fun in the area. We would definitely come back here again. Thank you all for a great siesta from real life-back home. :)"
The site property manager, Donna, contacted me before I arrived and made arrangements for a smooth arrival. She was helpful and supportive of my time at the apartment, steering me to area restaurants that turned out to be real finds. The apartment itself is "vintage." It is a project developing. But it was clean and comfortable. I was here to watch spring training baseball and valued the neighborhood residential locale of the place.
We had a great week in Clearwater! Donna the property manager was unable to meet us personally, but made arrangements for us to access the unit. The unit itself was cozy and perfect for our needs with a nice little kitchen and two small bedrooms. Quiet (mostly) neighborhood in Clearwater close to the beach and shopping - loved Publix. Short drive to Blue Jays spring training as well. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. If I visit Clearwater in the future, I'd be happy staying here again.
I cannot say that this particular apt. is charming the photos are misleading. Our time in the apt. ended up to be a very nice time, we
did meet and made friendships with our neighbors in the other apartments in the home. The property manager is the best and among other things coordinated a cookout and we all had a great Sunday together. Donna is making improvements as she is able and was always helpful in any way she could be. She was friendly at all times and made our stay a pleasure.

About the Host, Kathleen And Nick
What inspires me? Loving-kindness.
When I'm not at my day job, I try to make each moment count.
I like: Loved ones, meditation, yoga, cool shade on sunny beaches with turquoise-colored warm water.
I dislike: Cruelty, racism, abuse, intolerance.
My favorite city is Cape Town, South Africa — with the legendary Table Mountain as a backdrop, and surrounded by two oceans (Atlantic and Indian), it is one of the most stunning cities you can ever see!
