This is a wonderful setting in the redwoods for your private retreat, vacation get away, or just a stop on the way. Also available for long term stays.
Interaction with Guests
I interact with my guests as needed to accommodate their needs and just enough so that we may get to know one another and feel comfortable. I have treasured meeting my guests and found it to be a lovely balance for meeting new people.
I love living in the trees and having a view of open space; a feeling of being remote, yet only minutes away from the highway and then just short distances to the east or west.
Public transportation is limited, however it is doable. In this area it is best to have your own car.
Other Things to Note

Laurie was very welcoming in a sincere, casual and easy-going way. We did not need to take advantage of her offer to use the kitchen facilities since we were spending all our time with family in the neighborhood, we would have felt at ease in doing so given her warm invitation to share that space. Even though our space and her space over-lapped a little more than we had anticipated (the hallway between our room and our bathroom was open to her living room space), she never made us feel as though we were being intrusive.
The accommodations were comfortable and the setting was deliciously quiet and tranquil. My husband loved the hot tub and we both enjoyed the deck.
Laurie's place was great! She gave very clear directions and we had no problem finding it. Great communication - she checked in with us a few days prior to ask if we needed any specifics, and she replies to messages promptly. The pictures don't do it justice! It really is a beautiful space. The room also felt a lot bigger than what I was expecting from the pictures. This was the perfect place for a relaxing night. Thank you!
Lovely room in a beautiful house with lots of light surrounded by forest. Laurie is an accommodating, easy-going host and very prompt with communication. We enjoyed our stay and may be back!
My boy friend and I planted to have a quiet and relaxing weekend since he worked too much in the weekdays, and we did had great experience staying at Laurie's house in the forest. The house looks much more beautiful comparing to the photos. We arrived super late due to my flight, Laurie left the lights on. The check in was pretty smooth. The room was beautiful and quiet. There were flowers, fruits and pastries when we arrived, we felt like home. Laurie was a very friendly lady to talk to, she gave some suggestions when er told her that we wanted to see the redwood and the Golden Gate Bridge. She even offered wine to us the last night. the house was actually easier to find than I thought, I didn't even need any navigation the second day when we went back to laurie's house. We'd definitely recommend Laurie's house.
I was there when Laurie was out of town, I would recommend that people bring food with them as the lodging is far from restaurants and grocery stores. It wasn't my cup of tea and I won't use it again.
Laurie was a gracious and generous host. The room and private bathroom were spacious and clean. Laurie was welcoming in allowing for use of her living room and deck. A beautiful fresh bouquet of flowers in the room was a wonderful touch. Walking outside and
being next to a redwood tree was awesome. I recommend getting to
the house for checkin during daylight hours as the house is a little
tricky to find.
Laurie, thank you for the relaxing and comfortable stay. You have a very special place. It was exactly what I needed to get away. I look forward to returning back soon, hopefully for more than one night and to trying out the hot tub :)
About the Host, Laurie
I am semi-retired and spend a great deal of time doing community service and working with local non-profits in my community, especially with seniors.
I love where I live and enjoy sharing this space with others; and I also love traveling when time and money permit. I especially like sunny and warm vacation spots.
