Merci bien, Daniel and Genvieve!
This was the perfect Airbnb experience. Everything that was needed was provided. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and Daniel and Genvieve, not to mention their cute little dog, Yoda, were always available for questions and/or any needs that arose.
The only thing the apartment does not have, is a view of the spectacular scenery from within. But step out into the lovely gardens, and it's all there!
The location is ideal. From the amazing Gorges d'Héric to the wonderful "voie vert" [a 70 km pedestrian and bicycle trail: for, erly a train line], it all made for a perfect holiday.
Bicycles are provided and we used them all the time.
We hope to be back.
When we arrived at Daniel and his wife's home we were greeted by a very happy and cheerful Daniel. After a long journey it was great to see such a smiley face.
Daniel was perfectionist in his approach to making sure our stay was exactly how we wanted it to be; he showed us how to use and access anything we could need and made it very clear that we were welcome to ask him for help at any time.
As Daniel stated, it was our 'home from home', which is how we felt there.
Daniel and his wife had plenty of information for us to help decide how to spend our days. We enjoyed a bike ride through the local towns, a day of walking up the Gorge De Heric (absolutely beautiful). We enjoyed locally produced food and home cooked meals, played games, watched films whilst relaxing on the lazy boy chairs, had a drink at the local restaurant, etc. If you go for a drive to the next town there is an incredible place to eat there too (I have the details somewhere, just send me a message and I will dig out the leaflet if you would like to know more).
We enjoyed some swimming in Daniel's very well designed swimming pool and ended our time there with some glasses of wine watching shooting stars fly by.
If you want to stay somewhere where you have the choice to relax or be active, and all the while be looked after, then I strongly suggest staying with Daniel and his wife in the beautiful Mons.
