Check In
  • I am a frequent traveler and so have stayed in many different types of accommodations and this is the BEST. A lovely studio apartment with all the comforts of home in a great DC neighborhood. Our host arranged check in and out times for our convenience. I would highly recommend this apartment for one or two travelers.

  • Marc's luxury apartment was ideally situated, offered great amenities, and provided an excellent escape for me when I traveled to DC for a combination business/pleasure trip.

I chose Marc's apartment after the Marriott Wardman Mark was fully booked for a convention, and I think I got the best deal among all of my travel companions. I was a mere 5 minute walk from the conference location, and very close to a Starbucks for my morning coffee and writing routine. The apartment is almost located directly between two metro stops (Woodley Park and Cleveland Park) so I had quick access to the rest of the city.

As far as amenities, Marc's apartment offers lots of conveniences. The building is very charming; the owners have obviously made an effort to maintain the design aesthetic popular when it was first built. An indoor heated lap pool, workout center, and private sauna gave me a great place to begin my mornings and escape mid-day, and as it is in a private building, there were rarely many people around to disturb my mental breaks there. He offers a washer and dryer in his apartment, along with a kitchen, although I ended up enjoying the eateries in the surrounding neighborhoods. The building offers a 24 hour doorman and a lounge; there was supposedly a lounge on the top floor of the building, but I was never able to visit.

Check-in and check-out were very easy. Although Marc was out of town during my visit, he was prompt in his responses to my messages, and made sure I was taken care of; he even checked in with me a couple of times to see whether I needed anything. I very much appreciated that.

If your travels take you to the nation's capital, and you are seeking a great getaway from the usual hotel experience, or just want a calm, peaceful place to relax after a day of touring, I would very much recommend Marc's place.

  • This is a perfect place to stay in DC. Art-filled, light-filled, convenient and it is no exaggeration to call this DC's best apartment building. It is glorious to return to its lobby every day. This is what I would call an extended studio, suitable for 1 or 2 people. It is quite spacious and has a very good kitchen space. I never met the owner but Marc was very solicitous through e mails and calls.

  • Marc was a wonderful host- apologetic he could not be there to meet me- he gave me all the information I needed by phone before my arrival. The apartment is lovely, very clean & in a wonderful building. I'm actually surprised that someone is willing to rent an apartment this lovely. The location is superb, nestled between two subway stops & right next door to the National Zoo. I was in town to attend a conference at the Omni Shoreham & the walk to the Shoreham was the perfect distance. The apartment had everything one would need. The bed was comfortable. All arrangements were made very smoothly & easily. Overall, a great experience. I hope to be a repeat visitor to this apartment for this annual conference. Thank you so much, Marc.

  • We had such a wonderful time in DC! Marc was the perfect host. He had great communication and really made us feel welcome in his home. His place was so lovely! Decorated beautifully, quiet (super important in the heart of a big city), a washer and dryer, very comfy bed and linens, a safe location and a historic building. The doorman is a sweetheart! We stayed several days and hated to leave. A five minute walk right down the street are wonderful restaurants, drug store, grocery, cleaner and wine store. Perfect! Thank you, Marc, for making out trip and stay in your home such a delightful memory.

  • This apartment is nicely appointed and located in a very nice building. Staying in this space is like staying in an art gallery! It is only a fifteen minute walk from he woodly park station and the Marriott Wardman park. If you are attending a conference in the marriot or Omni and those hotels are booked this should be you next choice (because it will me my first, no competition please!). If for some reason you need a car just leave at the Marriott it will be simpler.

  • fabulous old time apartment building with superb public spaces. Residents behave like club members and that makes you feel special. I felt like a local resident and an inhabitant of those fabulous buildings on mid west side of NY. Only the porters were not up to scratch...=), no uniform, no cap and always on their smartt phones! ah ah!

It was quaint if not comical how a rule about dogs was enforced. They were not allowed to touch the carpets of the common areas. So they were carried on the lap and the lobby had a special cart to wheel them up through the corridors!!! Unbeatable to watch.

It is these things which make places special.

Apartment was clean, everything worked. Taste cannot be argued about but I thought it to be a bit too cluttered with antiques and momentoes for a weary traveller not to loose sight of his own stuff.

The carpet should definitely go, antique or not. It just does not look tidy enough for a stranger to the flat.

I do deeply recommend to stay there.

  • Marc was a fantastic host! He met me to give me the keys and a tour of his apartment. His apartment is just great! We really enjoyed the large space, wifi connection and onsite laundry. The building is very historic and fancy - we loved walking in every day. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • Staying at Marc's lovely apartment was truly a pleasure. It's in a great location, and Marc was a wonderful host; extremely responsive to my questions, and even coming over one day to assist me with an issue. I really enjoyed staying at his place!

  • This apartment is HIGHLY recommended. Marc was extremely flexible with check-in/check-out dates and the stay was wonderful. The apartment has modern amenities as well as antique charm and it was very clean upon arrival. The apartment is also extremely conveniently located--right off of the red line and within walking distance of lots of restaurants. Perfect experience!
