The apartment is amazing. All what you can see on the picture is also in reality there. We appreciated view, terrasse, equipment and the calm of the island - compared to busy Venice.
Very lovely and well appointed apartment with great views.. we were just there for 3 nights to check out the Biennale and not much else.. there's a supermarket literally next door which suited us as we fancied cooking for ourselves and the restaurants in Venice are famously hit and miss (Elodie's looked nice though).
We enjoyed staying a little bit out of the way and the lack of cars on Murano.
Elodie was helpful with good communication all the way along and good instructions on reaching and departing the apartment by vaporetto which was very helpful as the maps aren't the most intuitive, to my mind.
At one point the hot water went off for a bit but we told Elodie and her husband was up like lightning to fix it!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the flat to anyone especially couples who would like a quiet romantic break and fancy cooking their own meals.
What a great place. It's so light and airy in this apartment. Elodie seems like she runs the whole town of murano! Her restaraunt is incredible. Venice/Murano was a dream.
Mesmerizing view, especially from the terrace. It's a stupendous view even when compared to our 14 day Venetian Adriatic cruise on the Norwegian Jade, where we stayed in the Owner Suite that boasted two enormous verandahs offering 270 degree wrap around view of the ocean and the ports.
Very convenient location, 1 min stroll from the Museo vaporetto stop. Coop supermarket and Bank with ATM literally downstairs of the apartment.
Delicious food, elegant settings and enchanting view of the canal at Elodie's restaurant; we ate there twice. She also owns a wine bar nearby, but we did not have a chance to patronize during this trip.
Elodie and her staff: courteous, competent, friendly and helpful. Elodie herself is well known and well-liked in Murano. As soon as we found Fondamenta Longa, the very first shop-owner we approached smiled instantly upon our mentioning of Elodie. She graciously told us how to find Elodie's restaurant, which was a mere 20 seconds away by feet.
Really not within Elodie's control, but Murano was buzzing with mosquitoes during August, especially during the evening when it's very (website hidden) was a little weak for the entire space, but closing all the blinds during peak sun hours helped. Also, we were there in August, arguably the most sweltering month of the year in Murano.
OVERALL: We will not hesitate to stay at Elodie's wonderful hideaway should we ever return to Murano again.
We stayed here for 5 nights. We enjoyed our stay - the apartment was clean and the roof terrace was a fantastic place to hang out in the mornings and evenings. There was a personal computer to use, good wifi, and the place was generally pleasant. That said, some things in the apartment didn't work as well as one would hope. The air conditioner has just enough power to cool the sleeping area a bit. We travel in Europe often and we are very well acquainted with european clothes washers (keep the loads small, etc) but when we did our laundry water literally started pouring out from the bottom of the washing machine. We ended up doing hand washes for the rest of our stay. Also, the shower shot water in all directions, including straight up. At one point a rubber-band like thing shot out of the shower head while my son was showering. The lighting is a bit jury rigged. We liked Murano and we're glad we stayed here but there could be a little more attention to the details.
We had a great time at Elodie's apartment. Murano is very quiet from early evening until around 10am each morning when the tourists arrive to visit the glass factories so it makes a great place to enjoy Venice from and escape when the place gets too much.
The apartment is well appointed - a long way upstairs but we knew this in advance. The supermarket and fishmongers are literally next door so ideal to buy what you need on a daily basis.
Elodie owns the restaurant underneath the apartment, the food is fabulous. We stayed for a pre-cruise and on the last day ate lunch outside before taking a (special price) water taxi direct to the cruise port from her mooring. It doesn't get much better!
Bad experience. We were unable to check into the apartment, as Elodie was out of contact until after 11 p.m. on the day of our scheduled arrival. She did not answer her phone, respond to email, or send check-in instructions in advance. She also declined my request for a full refund and suggested that we should have simply traveled to Murano to look for her, even though we didn't have her address. airbnb then reviewed our correspondence and refunded me in full.
The spectacular view from the rooftop terrace will forever be lodged in the place in my mind when I go to a 'happy place'. Quiet, picturesque with great attention to detail. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Murano Suites. Suitable for 4 people who know each other well or a couple/small family. Found Murano to be very quiet at night which was an okay experience for us. Elodie owns a restaurant and wine bar below. We didn't get a chance to visit but it looks really good.
Murano Suites is highly recommendable. A very nice place. Well equipped including a laptop with internet access. Very good and easy connections to airport and Venice.
