My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful stay! It was a last minute booking and Grant made the booking smooth and very welcoming. The description of the place is spot on and conviently located to all the great restaurants and night life in Gastown. I highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway.
I returned to Grants apartment after my hiking trip (see my previous review). It was so nice to sit on his incredibly comfortable sofa drinking coffee in the mornings before going out.
I stayed over Labor weekend and attended the annual Gastown BBQ and Chilli
festival - great food and music!
I can't recommend Grants apartment enough, and Grant is an incredibly accommodating and flexible
host which makes the whole air bnb experience so good.
I took the sky train back to the airport from Waterfront station, which cost $2.75 rather than the taxi fare of c$35, the station is a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment, so don't waste your money on a taxi!
Grant's apartment is exactly as described and as you can see in the pictures; it's clean and tidy, the bed is big and comfortable and the bathroom is very spacious. The building is located in Gastown and it's close to everything you may need. Check-in and check-out were easy. Great experience! thank you, Grant!
I stayed at Grant's apartment for three days before going on a hiking trip (and I've booked to stay for three days at the end of my trip).
The apartment is uber stylish and very welcoming and I quickly felt at home. It's equipped with everything you could need - comfortable bed, shower and bathtub, a fully fitted kitchen, lots of sockets and great technology.
From the apartment you can see the river and the docks where the freight containers are loaded onto the trains and begin their journey across Canada.
Gastown is an interesting, historically important part of town, with great bars, restaurants and shops, and some really interesting older buildings (including Grant's apartment block, which is known throughout the city). It tends to be full of tourists during the day, but in the evening they leave and the locals come out to play. It's a very social area and gets very busy and noisy in the evenings, so if you want to sit and quietly contemplate on a Saturday evening, this isn't the place for you. However, if you want to go out and explore and experience the real Vancouver, you couldn't choose a better place.
The apartment is located 5 minutes from Waterfront station, which gives you easy access to skytrain and bus routes to all parts of the island (plus taxis galore). It's also at the start of the sea wall at Canada Place, which covers a huge chunk of the island, and which is amazing to walk, people and scenery watch (the visitors centre is at Canada Place which is great for touristy info, the team there are incredibly helpful).
The apartment has everything you could need - comfortable bed, shower and separate bathtub, and a fully fitted kitchen. It was so much nicer to stay in this beautiful apartment than a hotel as it gave me so much more freedom, particularly on my first day when I was up in the middle of the night with jet lag! The apartment also has access to an amazing rooftop gym and terrace with spectacular views of the city.
There is a drug store and a supermarket next to the block, and coffee shops and restaurants galore. So you have pretty much everything
you're likely to need within minutes of the apartment.
Grant was great at communicating via email and text and everything was planned and organised well in advance. He was the perfect host.
My girlfriend and I loved staying here. The location is great, right in the center of Gastown, very close to lots of fun activities. The apartment was very clean, with beautiful views and a comfortable bed! Anyone looking for a centrally located fun and easy spot should stay here. There's no AC, and even though it was warm when we were there the breeze from the open window and fan does the trick quite nicely. This is a great spot and I would highly recommend it!
