These are all found on our Mezzanine level. Aside from needing to skip up a few additional steps to access them, the main difference between these and our other pods is that their associated storage space is across from your pod, not within it. The benefit is that your actual lockable space is far larger than that in all our other pods (which instead of a large lockable cubby have a small lockable cabinet for valuables and a cable-tie to secure your bag). Priced for single occupancy.
The space
Imagine you could stay in a boutique hotel but only pay for the part of it you actually use. At Pangea, that’s what we’ve created – designer pod accommodation that’s affordable, central, and social. It’s a hub where guests can meet like-minded travelers, enjoy an espresso or artisan flatbread in The Living Room or a shaken cocktail on The Rooftop Patio, but still have their own personal space at the end of the day. Best of all, we put it right in the heart of Whistler’s iconic village, just a couple minutes stroll from Whistler Blackcomb’s gondolas. Part hostel, part hotel, we’re the best of both worlds.
Guest access
Aside from your personal pod and your shared suite, Pangea guests have access to three main areas on the property.
On Pangea’s 2nd floor you’ll find The Living Room – our cafe, bar and lounge. Here you can order fresh and delicious (yet affordable) food and drinks, or just hang out to your heart’s content watching TV, playing board games, or updating your Insta feed (if that’s your thing). We called it The Living Room for a reason, so please feel free to use it as such.
If you do want to order something, here’s the deal: breakfast/brunch starts early and runs late, and includes – among other things gourmet eggs benedicts, avo toast, waffles, and barista-made coffee. Artisan flatbread pizzas – along with expertly-mixed cocktails – start a little later, and can be enjoyed until close.
Guests also have access to The Rooftop Patio, the only true top-deck terrace in Whistler Village. Looking out over the Village Stroll and with views of the mountains beyond, it’s the perfect destination for people-watching and range-gazing.
Lastly there’s the The Tox Box, Pangea’s custom-designed secure gear storage area, which offers free ski / snowboard storage during the winter season. The same space provides bike storage during the summer season, though this needs to be reserved in advance for a small fee.
Other things to note
CAR PARKING
We have a limited number of private underground parking spots (9 to be exact). These are charged at $39.9 per night + taxes if reserved in advance, or $44.9 per night + taxes if reserved upon check-in (if they’re still available). Simply email or message us if you’d like to add this to your reservation.
The parkade has a clearance of 6’-8” in case you need to know!
BIKES, BOARDS AND SKIS
If you plan on bringing your bike to Whistler, don't forget that we only have a certain number of spaces for bikes and these must be reserved in advance of your stay (unlike in winter where we have room for every guest's skis or board, and no advance reservation is needed). Private bike racks are charged at $17.9 per night + taxes if reserved in advance, or $19.9 per night + taxes if reserved upon check-in (if any are still available). Again, simply email or message us if you’d like to add this to your reservation.
And if you're looking to rent gear on the cheap while you're in Whistler, you might want to consider reserving it ahead of time directly with Spicy Sports in the winter (skis / boards) and Gateway Bikes in the summer (bikes). We’ve set up a deal with them (it's the same store – they just operate under different names in the different seasons) whereby Pangea customers receive an additional 5% off their online prices, which are already 20% cheaper than their walk-in prices, making them the cheapest place to rent gear in Whistler Village by a mile! They also happen to be only a 1-minute walk from Pangea. Apply promo code PANGEA, and you'll save yourself a hefty sum!
CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in is at 4 PM (16:00). If you arrive before that, grab a drink in The Living Room or on The Rooftop Patio while we get your private pod ready for you.
Check-out is at 10 AM. If you’d like to stay a little longer (to ski, to bike, to hang out) we have a 1 PM late check-out option for $34.9 if booked in advance of arrival, or $39.9 if booked at time of check-in (subject to availability of course). Yet again, simply email or message us if you’d like to add this to your reservation.
LUGGAGE STORAGE
We can always securely store your gear for you before check-in and/or after check-out. Please note that – due to limited space – there’s a small charge for this of $5.9 (plus tax) for the first bag you store, and $4.9 (plus tax) for any additional bags.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT
A pre-authorization (also referred to as an “authorization” or “preauth”) is required at the time of check-in. This is generally calculated as CAD $100 per pod, though may change from time-to-time as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. It covers incidental spend and damage, and is returned in full if neither are incurred. In addition, a fully refundable CAD $1 “Preauth Check” charge may be applied to your card prior to, during, or after your scheduled check-in time.
You hereby accept that Pangea maintains the right to charge your credit card for any outstanding amounts due, including all potential fines levied, even after any preauths have been completed, and to pursue legal action against you should Pangea be unable to collect the requisite funds.
Don’t have a credit card? Not a problem – you can use cash too (again, to be returned upon check-out).
LOCKS
Remember to bring padlocks for locking up your valuables. You’ll need a maximum of four (though often less). And don’t stress if you forget – we sell these at reception too!
