Xavier and JoAnn we're awesome! Everything was as advertised. The location was perfect and the bikes really made our transport around Austin a breeze. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend others to do so as well. They should open up an actual bed and breakfast where Xavier has a restaurant!
Awsome, very peaceful and pleasant experience.
Staying with Xavier and his wife Joann was AMAZING! They are wonderful human beings who went out of their way to make my stay in Austin phenomenal. This was my first time using AirBnB and I was overwhelmed with how wonderful the experience was. The location of their home was perfect. It enabled me to see the East side neighborhood where the locals go out two stepping at places like the Whitehorse, but was still close enough to head into down town 6th street to check out the famous bars and restaurants. They provided me with this super cool beach cruiser that I utilized to pedal my way all over to Austin. Xavier went out of his way to give me a tour of the city when I arrived so I could find my way around, and Joann had a number of suggestions of great places to go for a afternoon bite or evening cocktail. The place that they have is perfect for a person looking to have a beautiful place to lay their head. They provide you with your own bathroom and full use of their home. The room is MORE than enough space for one person and would easily accommodate two travelers. The bathroom and shower are clean, new and nicely decorated. Their home is lovely to come home to with central air to get you out of the Austin heat. As if the accommodation wasn't great enough, Xavier made me his famous crepes each morning and a fabulous dinner on the 4th of July. I was so elated to have such an amazing experience in Austin. Austin was great, but the home and people that were in it made it even better! I can't say enough great things about Joann and Xavier! I'll just start with Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
This was the first time I used Airbnb and it was such a positive experience! Xavier and Joann could not have been more welcoming. They picked me up from the airport, dropped me off in the city, and even made me delicious fresh crepes and eggs from their chicken! The location is a few blocks east of I-35, not far from the Hike and Bike trail or some up and coming bars/restaurants. It's easy to get around on the bikes. I would definitely recommend staying here!!
Xavier and JoAnn are very friendly and their hospitality is great. Xavier cooks very well and you should definately try his crepes.
House is located in a quiet neighborhood very close to the downtown, 5 mins by bike.
My GF and I were in Austin for a friend's wedding and Xavier's house was the PERFECT place to stay. First of all Xavier and JoAnn are the nicest people we met in Texas and that's saying a lot. They picked us up at the Airport, they lent us 2 awesome bikes, they let us borrow their car because it was raining, they dropped us off at the bus station when we left AND they even made us delicious crepes in the morning. We could not have felt more at home and I sincerely thank them for all they did. They are not just hosts but we consider them our friends, they really treated us like family and the place was super clean and in a great location. We rode bikes downtown in about 5 minutes and our favorite part of Austin were the cool outdoor bars on Rainey St. which was even closer. Thank you guys so much Xavier and JoAnn and we hope to see you again soon! Don't hesitate to stay with them, all my friends were so jealous when I told them how well we were being treated compared to the ones who stayed in a hotel :)
I had a wonderful time in Austin. And thanks to JoAnn and Xavier I had a wonderful place to stay. Situated just a 5min bike ride from downdtown or the nearby clubs (just use the provided bicycles!) this is exactly where you want to be if you're going to Austin. The room itself is clean and spacious. Front porch and backyard perferct if you need to relax a little. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. But most important to me was that JoAnn and Xavier are very nice, friendly and very helpful hosts. I felt instantly welcome, from the moment they picked me up at the airport till Xavier droped me off again. Thank you for being awesome hosts and hope to see you the next time I come to Austin! Highly recommended
Xavier and his wife Joanna were great and welcoming hosts, offered to pick me up at the airport and invited me to two meals at their house (Xavier is an amazing cook). Their place is located on the East Side of Downtown and they provide bicycles (a great way to get around Austin). The room with a private bath room were nice and clean. I can definitely recommend staying with them.
Xavier and JoAnn were wonderful hosts. I stayed in Austin for three days and needed a place on the East Side. Their house fit the bill perfectly. It is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of downtown. The room was just what I expected from reading other reviews. Simple, cozy, with a beautiful bathroom. Xavier and JoAnn made me feel very comfortable and was amazed that they went above and beyond picking me up at the airport and lending me their bicycle. I enjoyed our conversations and the homey atmosphere they created. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again.
Xavier and Joann were great from the moment I booked. They even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport! I felt sort of like I was staying with a distant cousin! They were both friendly and nice and offered me dinner and tea and chocolate mousse and ice cream (they just got an ice cream maker Xavier was eager to try out). The room was perfect, crisp and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. They provided soft towels, wireless ... and a BIKE! The bike saved me tons of time and money on cabs or buses (cabs in Austin are 'spensive!!). They provided a lock and even lent me a helmet and a vest when I was going to be riding back at night along the I-35.
The location is ideal, in rad East Austin, just a short ride away from E. 6th and Dirty 6th and 4th and Rainy and all the other rad places Austin has going for it. DEFINITELY wait in line for Franklin BBQ, it was totally worth it. And it's just a 10 minute easy ride from Xavier and Joann's house. So is the river and the riverfront walk which are beautiful.
So, yes, I had a great time! Thanks guys for being awesome hosts and hope to see you the next time I come to Austin!
