SUPER cool person in an artsy space. Lovely room in a lovely apartment. Convenient transit: bus, underground Muni & Bart all in the Lower Haight / Haight Ashbury. Lovely & cozy private room with full kitchen and roof access. Centrally located just between Buena Vista and Duboce parks. Walking distance of Golden Gate park.

The space

I love art, mid-century modern furniture & unique decor. My apartment reflects these aesthetics in a recently modernized 1938 Victorian building.

We have high ceilings & are on the top floor (which is quieter than below & has better views). The bedrooms are in the back so there is limited street noise. All the rooms get amazing light, and it seems to always be sunny.

Guest access

Private room, living room, kitchen, bathroom & Laundry... whole house. Roof and balcony as well, great views of the city from the roof.

NO PARTIES... sorry to have to say it but I had one really weird guy.

Interaction with guests

I will be present when the guest arrives but will have as much or as little interaction as the guest requires. I'm OPEN. I am very friendly and do like to enjoy guests but am completely respectful of privacy.

Awesome location, really nice apartment and friendly hostess. Katherine even made us breakfast! Bonus: Café du soleil, home of SF's best French toast, is 3 blocks away!

My experience at Katherine's place was amazing! She's got a hip modern Victorian space, reflecting chic San Franciscan vibe. Her space feels like a walk in a museum, a trip back in time, & so close to Haight! The room was stylish & spacey, it felt like a boutique hotel. Sheets and pillows were clean, bed was comfortable & she also provided clean towels for us. And she's cool & easy going too! She accomodated our very late check-in even though she had work the next day, & even gave us a tour of her house, heck even played authentic vinyl for us late that night, how awesome is that? Katherine allowed me to pick her brains apart for local joints, bars, shops & her favorite haunts. It was such a pleasure being hosted by her. I will definitely recommend 10/10!

Katherine's place was great! We were running really late for check-in but she was able to accommodate us and welcomed us with a smile and a cup of tea when we arrived. We were able to do laundry in the building which was really nice. Katherine's place was clean and the room was very quiet and comfortable. There was a lot of food, bars and shopping within walking distance. We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here!

Katherine was very responsive in getting set up to arrive, and had a cool SF vibe. The unit is in the Haight, and is ideally suited for budget and/or travelers often staying in Hostels. It was a bit confusing [or maybe I read it too fast?] as to the unit description. I had thought when it said '1 Bed, 1 Bath' that it meant I had those for usage. Instead, it was actually a 2 Bed apartment, but *sharing* a single bath. I'll have to pay more attention next time.

Response from Katherine:
Hey Ken... wow. Ok. I am a little shocked right now. FIRSTLY airbnb doesn't allow you to list the number of bedrooms unless you are giving up the entire apt, their rules, not mine. I live here. That should have been clear from my MANY reviews. SECONDLY, as I recall I never even used the bathroom while you were here awake (after 10 and before 8). FOR WHICH TIMES YOU weren't EVEN HERE. You were here for a minute and I could not have possibly gotten in your way or impeded your schedule in any way. Thirdly, Why are you doing this? I'm not a hostel, I saw you for about ten minutes and that was that, you were in a rush and I respected that. *this SF Vibe has a masters from STANFORD*
