Our home is a peaceful place, full of light. It's huge and quiet with trees at every window. You will enjoy walking out of your bedroom to a nice terrace in the mornings and sip your first coffee in the hammock...
Our flat is comfortable and you will sleep well. It is very well located, at walking distance from the action, but protected from the traffic noise. Our building has only three apartments and our neighbours are quiet and respectful. If you need to work at home, you will be able to do so, using our high-speed internet access (wifi). We have no tv, but a piano and plenty of books and dvds you're welcome to borrow. Our kitchen has cutlery and utensils and you can use our antique stove if you want to cook. Items for cooking will be available for you, i.e., spices, oil, vinegar, sugar, tea, coffee, etc.
There is one bedroom with a king size bed (we're not renting the other bedroom for the moment) and one full bathroom (ensuite with the main bedroom). Bedding and one towel per guest will be available. Diana will come once a week to keep the flat clean and tidy. We have no washing-machine but we use a very good laundry service if you need to wash clothing (they collect the laundry and deliver it when ready).
We live in bohemian Colonia Roma, blocks away from Condesa and close to the historical city center. At the beginning of the XXth century, Colonia Roma used to be a very European and aristocratic area. Today, there is a real feeling of village neighborhood, with a mix of art galleries, small traditional shops, nice restaurants and cafes. If you like architecture, you will be amazed at some of the old porfiriato mansions and art nouveau buildings, nicely restored, in our area. On week-ends, you can walk to the near-by flea-market,or the farmers' market and enjoy the slow pace of our ¨village¨ in the big city... It is safe to walk around at night.
Public transportation is close (walking distance), and is really the best way to move around the city. Nearby: Metrobus linea 1 (Alvaro Obregon), or linea 3 (Jardin Pushkin). Metro Insurgentes (linea 1). If you want a taxi service, we will recommend the one we use regularly. City bikes are round the corner.
Our building is new (10 years old) and has been built to resist earthquakes; it follows the movements of the earthquake, it moves so it doesn't break. Whenever a big truck passes nearby, you might feel a slight rocking (some people don't feel anything), it's normal. Feel safe.
You will have access to all our flat, except the first bedroom (the smaller room) because it's our baby's and we don't want to move anything!
Interaction with Guests
You can see that we have two cancelled reservations: that is because we manage another listing and got confused with the reservations, but we are renting this flat again, do get in touch ;-)
Our neighbourhood is growing into a mini Brooklyn mixed with traditional mexican neighborhood. We love that we can eat local food and also find a really good baguette... People mix nicely and there is a very nice vibe.
Metro Insurgentes is 7' walk away, metrobus line 1 is 2 blocks away, city bikes are round the corner. It's really nice to walk in the neighbourhood and completely safe at night. There is a hospital close to our building so there is always light and safety.
No pets (Chimi is severly allergetic).
NO parties (but friends over for a drink and a meal is fine)...
Do NOT invite any stranger inside the building.
Please do NOT smoke in the bedrooms. If you smoke in the flat, just be careful with the furniture.
Make sure the lights are turned off every time you leave a room and/or the flat.
Do not use candles inside the flat.
Do not play the piano after 10pm (if you plan to do so for a special night, please let our neighbours know.)
If ever something is broken or damaged, please tell us.
Treat our house like your own... it's our home!
Agnes and Chimi's apartment is super well located in Roma Norte. The area is full of cool bars and restaurants, and only 6 blocs away from a great park (Parque Mexico). Despite being away while we were at their apartment they were normally responsive and accommodating. We stayed for more than 2 months and enjoyed it very much. Certainly we would recommend for people willing to explore Mexico City and have a cosy and welcoming place where to go back at the end of the day.
Agnes and Chimi are very welcoming hosts! Their apartment is in an excellent position, close to restaurant and bars. Very safe. We liked it so much that we decided to book it again!
We stayed at Agnes Y Chimi's place for a full month and had a great experience. They were easy to communicate with and very down to earth making sure we had everything we needed. Someone also came to clean the place once a week which was very nice. The place is beautiful with lots of plants around the house!
We came to Mexico City for the first time and were so happy to be in this apartment and this neighborhood. Chimi and Agnes were extremely kind and flexible with our ever changing arrival plans. The apartment is extremely lovely, totally clean with great wifi and feels like a much needed oasis from the bustle if DF. I totally recommend this apartment for others.
Agnes and Chimi were GREAT! I have used airbnb for many years and this experience went above and beyond any previous trip: They left a bowl of fresh fruit for me, a baguette, and creamer for my coffee. The house was fully stocked, immaculate and even more charming than it looked in the pictures. They also left a local cellphone for me to use to get in touch. Besides their kind hospitality, the neighborhood is excellent, the house itself was quiet at night (for Mexico City!), and I was able to walk to my conference on Reforma Ave everyday. I am counting down the days until I can go back!
Thank you! Gracias! Merci!
The reservation was canceled 30 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We were so very lucky to stay with Agnes and Chimi. A wonderful light floaded place with a warm and welcoming feeling, totally reflecting the nature of our excellent hosts. The place is exactly as displayed and at a perfect location to explore the city. They absolutely deserve six stars****** for communication, care and taking any extra step to make us feel not only welcome, but create an athmosphere of feeling home and friendship. THANK YOU! :)

We're a french-mexican couple, in our 40s, with a newborn baby. Agnes was born in France and has been living in Mexico city for the last 15 years... She's a Philosophy professor at university. Chimi was born in Mexico city from a french mother and a mexican father. He's a furniture designer/restorer.
We're both big travellers and if we could live on the road, we would!! In fact, we did, for a year, from Mexico to Patagonia on our van, greatest memories ever... We learned to make our own biodiesel from waste veggie oil and value hospitality from people on our way...
We're both independant workers and enjoy our freedom.
We love having people at our house and making sure our guests feel at home, free and relaxed...
