The Space

Our 19th century house is located in a secluded, quiet street, in the popular "Grachtengordel" neighbourhood, right in the very heart of Amsterdam.

Our house is easy to reach by public transport from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in only 45 minutes.
From Amsterdam Central station in 10 minutes.
About a week before your arrival, we will send you detailed directions (very easy).

We personally welcome you and show you around in our house. We'll give you the key to our house and offer you a welcome drink. In your room you will find a lot of information about all there is to see and to do in Amsterdam. We can also give you personal advice, so you can get the most out of your stay in Amsterdam.

Public transport is just around the corner of our street. There are 5 tramlines to all directions of Amsterdam.
But staying at our centrally located house, means that you will actually only need your own two feet to explore the city and to visit all the famous and special places, because almost everything is within walking distance.
For example:

The Rijksmuseum (10 min)
The van Gogh museum (10 min)
The Stedelijk museum (10 min)
The Hermitage museum (20 min)
The Rembrandt House (25 min)
The Waterlooplein open street Flea Market (20 min)
The Albert Cuyp open street market (10 min)
The Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein (15 min)
The Vondelpark (15 min)
The Redlight district (30 min)
Canal Cruises, around the corner (5 min)
Heineken Experience, around the corner (5 min)
Seightseeing hop on-hop off Bustop, around the corner (5 min)
The Zoo (Artis) (30 min)
The FOAM Photomuseum (10 min)
Main Shopping Area (20 min)
The Flowermarket (20 min)
The Eye Film museum (40 min + free ferry boat)
The Scheepvaart museum (45 minutes)
House of Anne Frank (40 min)
Negen Straatjes with vintage shops (30 min)

Theatres, restaurants, bars and cafe's, terraces, cinema's, the canals, shops, open day markets, and parks; you will find everything on your doorstep.

Your room is on the third floor of our house.
The stairs in our house are relatively steep, like in all 19th century houses in Amsterdam Center.
The room is light, fresh, and clean and has high quality boxspring beds. You can choose for 1 kingsize bed, or two single beds.
Use of towels, bedlinen, bathropes are included.
The room also has a table and two chairs, a fridge, a flat screen cable televison, a fitted washbasin, a hairdryer, an alarmclock, and a wardrobe. The bathroom is next to your room.

FAST FREE WIFI and COFFEE AND TEA FACILLITIES are complementary and available in your room.

We have a NON SMOKING HOUSE. But smoking is allowed on our roofterrace.

Parking (paid) is possible in our street but very expensive(4 euro per hour).
We recommend to park your car in a parking at the edge of Amsterdam for 8 Euro per 24 hours + a free public (return) transit tickets for max. 5 passengers to the citycenter.

We would love to answer all your questions and tell you all there is to know about Amsterdam, where to go, how to go and what to do!!

  • My friend and I arrived at Ingrid's home in the evening and felt home from the very first moment. The room is exactly as in the pictures: very clean and nice with a sink in the wardrobe. We got towels and could use the stylish bathroom with Ingrid and her husband. The narrow house and the rooftop are really beautiful and Ingrid is a very nice and helpful host, even if we didn't see her a lot. Breakfast was prepared everyday in the fridge while we were out of the house. The house itself is located in a very nice and quiet area, but very convenient, so we could do all the sightseeings by foot. I'd immediately go back - it's highly recommended!

    Thank you so much, Ingrid.

  • We were very excited when we received responses from Ingrid as we sat on the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam. My wife and I were desperate for a room for a weekend and had thrown out a lot of questions about room. We were even happier when we met Ingrid when it turned out she was really nice and was able to introduce us about the room, the surroundings and Amsterdam. She showed us all on a map. She also pointed out why it had been so difficult to get a room: Whole Amsterdam would celebrate Kings Day on Saturday. The room was exactly as she had described and was clean and fresh. The street was quiet even at Kings Day. I recommend this place and will be delighted to return.

  • We had a really nice stay at Ingrid's place. She's a very friendly host.
The accomodation was quiet and not far away from the city centre. You can easily take the tram or just walk.
It takes 5 Minutes on foot to get to the Heineken Brewery and Albert Cuyp Market.
"Rijksmuseum", "Van Gogh Museum" and "Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam" are really close as well.
We'd love to stay at Ingrid's beautiful place again!

My husband and I traveled a lot (and still do). We always like it so much better to stay in Bed and Breakfasts on our trips, because of the personal attention and the stimulating contacts we often have. Because we live in such a beautiful part of Amsterdam we decided to make one of the rooms in our house suitable for guests. We've redecorated the room and put in a high quality kingsize bed, that also can be put up as two single beds. We would love to have guests from all around the world, to meet interesting people and to share all there is to know about Amsterdam; where to go and what to do. We offer a friendly, comfortable stay with a personal touch in a good neighbourhood right in the centre of Amsterdam.
